  1. They still aren't on the bike yet... just haven't had the time
  2. Sight window shows you the max/min oil level range. Pretty much anywhere between the marks is okay.... when the bike is straight up. Two questions for you: 1) what oil are you using? 2) what are you doing looking at the oil light when you are accelerating hard? Shouldn't you be watching out for 1st Gen's that you'll be passing?
  3. end to end...the 2nd Gen is slightly longer than the original Smart cars.
  4. Happy birthday !!!!
  5. Our condolences from Nancy and I
  6. Good to hear from you !
  7. Good post !
  8. Base on CarbonOne's recommendation and what he bought, I installed the same tach as in the following thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/watering-hole/87342-tach-installed.html
  9. I wanted the plastic to be properly chromed and not just from a rattle can. This way it will last. I'll post pics with them on the bike in the next day or two.
  10. Nancy and I send our condolences to Abdul and the family.
  11. Nancy and I are saddened by this. Our condolences to Abdul and the family.
  12. To me there was a fair bit of black showing and chroming the plastic ties the two chromed side covers together.
  13. I got the side covers done in Cambridge Ontario at a plating shop Cambridge Custom Chrome Home - Cambridge Custom Chrome. The plastic piece... EZ Chrome in Otterville, Ontario. http://www.ezchromesolutions.com/ On the plastic, there is a "silver" base coat and a lightly blue tinted topcoat that gives it the chrome look. Another option I looked at for the plastic is a product called "Super Chrome" but there aren't any shops close that do it. If you do a search for "Super Chrome"....you can get the basecoat and topcoat in a kit and do it yourself - but you'd want a good sprayer. :: SuperChrome® :: Best Chrome Paint Solution
  14. Got the battery side covers back a while ago and the plastic piece that goes in front of the battery box a week ago.... here are the pics. The side covers cost me $200 to have chromed the traditional way. I could have gotten them thru DiamondR but with shipping and the exchange rate it would have cost about the same. Anyone considering getting the chrome side covers from DiamondR should do it soon because when I asked in January they only had a few and weren't going to do any more. The plastic piece that goes in front of the battery box and is the piece between the battery side covers cost me $75 to have done. Turned out great ! I know most of it won't be seen under the seat and behind the engine but ties the two side covers together nicely. Have yet to put them on the bike but wanted to share the results.
  15. I recently picked up an Android tv box (brand name "Mygica" that streams from the Internet. Cost me $150 and runx XBMC (also called Kodi). I upgraded from DSL to cable and have 60mbps download speed and 320GB a month data package. I'll be keeping an eye on how much data we use to see what the impact is. With XBMC, it is a free download that you can install on Android boxes, pc's, XBox.... then you install an "add-on" that is set up to different streaming sites. Best one I've found so far is called Genesis and you can watch movies or tv shows. Various add-on's for sports, old movies, classic tv shows, music....pretty much anything. Even movies that are just released to the theaters are available. We used to use an FTA satellite receiver that gave us Dish and Expressvu for free but once the satellite companies went to a more advanced encryption the programming for the FTA receiver was no longer available. I'd have to say XBMC has the FTA system beat. You can choose what you want to watch and when you want to watch it. Current movies and tv shows, live tv, even old movies from the 20's. Classic tv shows like Emergency, Chips...all available.
  16. Congratulations !
  17. As we get older our priorities change and you've reached that point where being home more is more important than the job. Would your current company give you a different position where you don't travel or don't travel as much? At least that way you wouldn't lose your vacation time.
  18. Happy for you !
  19. Any chance your bike is still under warranty (five years from original purchase date) ?
  20. Congratulations to your son and for your retirement.
  21. I have dual air horns installed. I got the brackets from SlowRollWV - they go behind and below the passenger floorboards. Two Stebels are really loud !
  22. Since this thread is about selling things...can I list something for sale here?? LOL
