  1. Sorry to hear about your issue...but so glad you pulled thru and got care. If you need any help with anything I'm a phone call away.
  2. Jays at Cleveland on Friday.
  3. You mean one of these ? http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/baron-custom-accessories-v4-water-pump-cover-yamaha-royal-star-venture/part/BA-7602-04 https://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/666/index.html http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baron-Water-Pump-Cover-Yamaha-XVZ1300TFM-XVZ1300TF-XVZ1300CTM-XVZ1300CT-XVZ1300A-/302008982758 https://www.denniskirk.com/baron-custom-accessories/water-pump-cover-ba-7602-04.p496197.prd/496197.sku
  4. Just wish there was room to mount a train horn and the compressors necessary.
  5. Have you seen the realtor commercial where the biker gang shows up at a house where people just moved in and the gang tells them that because they live in the area they are no members of the gang? We need to do this. When you see a Venture, stop them and tell them as a Venture owner, they have to be a member of the "gang" at VR.org. https://youtu.be/NP4Bq6nxPfA
  6. Jays sweep the Rangers ! ALDS champs !
  7. Hope the tuner is working your system better. Good to hear they still have parts for you old 1st Gens !
  8. Stay safe and on high ground all !
  9. You are going to say to yourself...."leave it to Don to make that comment" but.... Thought you said you were done with adding to the bike?
  10. Glad it wasn't too bad for you. Heal quickly !
  11. Carl has helped me a number of times. Just have to watch out when Carl looks at a bolt and says "Where'd that come from? Probably don't need it". Where did you think he got all the extra parts in his garage? Just kidding....great pair of guys !
  12. I'd say it is a match. At $1500 US that would be $2,000 CDN
  13. I wouldn't say you bought it....I'd say you STOLE it !!!! I've seen 2013 going for $14,000. A 2012 with a couple thousand km selling at a dealer in Oshawa for just under $16,000. A 2010 in Paris is $10,000. AND you got a trailer with it ! Depending on the colour of you 2007 I'd lean towards keeping the 2012. You probably have a year warranty left on it (a dealer can tell you the original date of purchase) and is still valid for you. You could sell the 2007 for close to what you paid for the 2012 and have a "newer" bike. And likely the 2012 doesn't have the "whine" that your 2007 might. Strip off the chrome you've added to the 2007 and move whatever is missing on the 2012. Standard stuff though...check the date on the tires, check for a leaky shock, brake/clutch and coolant fluids. Is there a manufacturer name on the trailer? Or does anyone recognize the trailer and what would it be worth?
  14. Read thru - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?52074-How-far-can-you-go-on-a-tank-of-gas
  15. From the symptoms indicated....it's your fuel pump. I had the same thing...running fine and then tried to accelerate and the motor cut out. Five minutes later it ran fine. Did this to me a couple times on different rides. I was lucky it was still under warranty. Can't hurt to replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been changed in a while. But if it was a blocked fuel filter causing the issue it wouldn't matter if the bike was hot or cold. My money is on it being the fuel filter.
  16. When we organized the Ontario rally we considered what brings people to events. It is to socialize and to see new areas. People don't come because there is a theme or a band...they come to see friends and catch up. Even MD is less about maintenance and more about socializing. We were lucky that we were able to find a site that had camping and rooms/cottages. This way everyone is in one place and not spread out between different locations.
  17. Tried doing a search for how much the 1300 V4 engine weighs and the closest I came was for the VMAX. Weight 260lbs. So...with an 807 lb (dry) weight... 32% of the bike's total weight is the motor. Not sure how much the forks or wheels weigh....but when you look at the individual parts, easy to see why the 2nd Gen is over 800 lbs.
  18. The complete second episode was there last night.
  19. I watched Part 1 and some of Part 2 on Kodi last night. Thanks for mentioning this series....interesting to see how the industry started out and how things evolved. I might not have known about the series if it hadn't been mentioned here.
  20. Would be a nice "club house" !
  21. Where do I sign up for MD ?? :-) $3.5 million....11,0000+ sq ft. Nice !!!!
  22. As Bob mentioned, there are several members in Ontario. Venture/Tour Deluxe... difference is primarily in fairing and luggage. Same engine and electronics. Welcome to the forum !
  23. I don't know about that....guns and politics have already been mentioned twice....now three times....in this thread alone ! Hope you are enjoying your holiday !
  24. As long as he didn't make derogatory comments about us Canucks... We do share the Queen with him. From previous discussions (including guns and politics), civil discussions have been allowed to play out. His final comment was not called for. Getting back to the subject of the thread...I don't think this forum is the place for car discussions but I'm fine with going with the majority. I'm not going to have a hissy fit if a sections appears. I mean....we allow Goldwing and Harley posts so can't be worse than that (but where does it end?)
  25. My Dad is 94 and still lives in his own house, does his own cooking, does yard work. He'd be shoveling snow by hand still if my sister hadn't talked him into using a snow blower a couple years ago. Still mentally and physically "with it". Some people as they grow older refuse to give up their license. My Dad realized about 8 years ago that he shouldn't be driving and gave up his license without anyone forcing him to do it. He realized his reactions weren't what they used to be. You have to determine if your father can still drive...for the safety of him and everyone else on the road. Does he still pass driving tests? I'm assuming your area requires that after a certain age the elderly have to take the test every year or so. If he can pass the driving test, then maybe he is okay....but consider his safety and others.
