  1. Am I the only one that can convene get togethers? Pick a date and post it !
  2. Some people went with a narrower front tire to improve handling....but then you get the tracking issues. I have always used the recommended size from the manual. Check what the size is and let us know.
  3. Congratulations ! Looks very nice.
  4. Weather forecast for this Saturday (August 19th) looks great ! Hope to see other Venture riders (and whatever else you come on or in) !
  5. Have you considered adding another admin or two and keeping the reins ? Chance to bring someone else up to speed on the maintenance side of things. I work in I.T. but don't have the website experience and not sure about the time. Like you would like to keep the site in the "family".
  6. From the electrical parts list - item 58 - shows to be in the left lower cowl. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/2007/royal-star-venture-xvz13tfw/electrical-1
  7. Can you give a description of what is happening? Bike won't start at all? When you turn the key do the lights come on? Engine crank at all? You sure the kill switch isn't on? With kickstand up or down? When you turn on the ignition does the fuel pump click? Good write up on ignition switch issue - https://venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002007&id=339 Wiring diagram - Top right of the Venturerider.org window is a magnifying glass (search). You can do a few searches to narrow down the issue.
  8. Rescheduled for Saturday the 19th
  9. Sorry about your loss Phil. For the get together....forecast is for rain.. Will confirm Friday but if rain still forecast we'll change the date to the 19th.
  10. August 12th (2023 for Ben) at 11am at the Tim Horton's on Rest Acres Rd in Paris (close to the 403).
  11. In my family, of my brothers and sister and I.... 50% is the average. With me...coming up on my 3rd marriage. First one...got married at 21 before I knew what I really wanted in life and after 23 years of marriage I decided I wanted something else. My kids were in 17 and 15 and I felt secure that they could (and did) handle it well. Second one was a habitual liar... not cheater, just lied about the stupidest things. I had to go thru her purse and drawers to find out what was really going on and didn't want to live like that. Soon to be third marriage (I haven't given up on romance) will be the keeper. At 64 years old I have someone that wants the same things I do (although has strong opinions on some things that I have opposite opinions of) but we are great together. For various reasons people change as they grow older. Someone you thought you could spend the rest of your life with you grow apart from in direction, wants, and beliefs. I'm still on good terms with my two ex's but now have a partner that I can see being with for the rest of my life. For those that have only been married one time....congratulations ! For those of us that have been divorced once, twice, three times....I understand. 50% divorce rate is a fact and everyone has their own reasons why. Takes two to be in a happy marriage, but it is two people with their own desires, wants for the future. You have to find the right person, and be the right person for the other member of the marriage.
  12. If Ben can make it on SATURDAY August 12th 2023 then that is when the next meet is !

  18. See you at 11 !
  19. yes...unless the weather is crap
  20. Will leave it on the 12th....
  21. Would the 11th work?
  22. Wednesday July 12th 11am in Paris at the Tim Horton's on highway 24 just North of the 403. Time for another group get together ! "Assemble" at the Tim Hortons. Flexible plan but ice cream involved !
  23. Why are you trying to eliminate the sensor? If you look at "Electrical - 1" parts diagram the lean angle sensor is item number 58 and looks to be in the left cowl. 58 SENSOR, LEAN ANGLE 4BH-82576-01-00 https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/2006/royal-star-venture-xvz13tfv/electrical-1
  24. Does it come on when you hit the four-way flasher? Probably not but had to ask. What about the running light? Is it just the flasher not working? Best way to trouble shoot it is to look for bad wiring. With an ohm meter check from the contact inside the bulb mount to ground to confirm your ground is good. Then check for voltage on the other terminals - you would have to turn the flasher on (and turn the key to Ignition/Start). If ground shows good, then trace the wiring back to the harness looking for a bad connection. Look at the link below to see the wiring diagram. Left flasher wire colours : B - Black - ground CH - Chocolate - left turn signal L - Blue - running lights
