Dave's last activity is 12-18-2018 09:29 AM but last post in 2014 when he had a rad leak on Roxie. From what I can see....he is still riding her. -

Your post made me curious as I couldn't remember the end to the story. There was a thread "So a man rides out of a dealership" .... I'm reading thru it now. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?59318-So-a-man-rides-out-of-a-dealership -
Heard that some places won't get power restored until the 31st.

Camera install

Welcome to the forum ! You'll find this site to be different than most other forums. When ChiefGunner referred you to the manual he wasn't being difficult....just pointing you to a source of info. You will get the odd joking comment but no nasty comments. What camera systems are you looking at? I like the idea of dual cameras for capturing video/images while riding. Would be interested on what your searching finds. -

Talk with Freebird about being a vendor on here. I think that trial members have certain restrictions. Membership ($12/yr) allows you to post links, classifieds. -

My take : Shinkos E4's Venom and Cobra all seem to be high up there with Michelins and the newer dunlops close behind. - Dunlop are still the tire to go with Shell rotella and mobil 1 both seem to top everyone's lists for oil - Rotella T6 Ngk's seem far superior over everything else. Broview S7's as the led of choice (so far) technology changes daily on bulbs. - for run/turn/brake, Custom Dynamics. For passing lights the GE H7616. Headlight - I have an LED bulb from Amazon but not a "big name" one. -
Prayers for Pete.

Let him know that he is in our thoughts ! -
I only did LED's on my rear turn signals (run/turn/brake). Per original instructions, only needed one stabilizer. I found I was getting fast blink on turn signals. I sent Custom Dynamics a diagram of my wiring and their suggestion was to have one on each side. I did this and my lights work fine ever since. I don't remember there being a diode. You probably know this but LED's have less resistance than incandescent bulbs. Without the stabilizer the bike "thinks" that a bulb is burned out.

Congratulations on your truck ! I bought a 2018 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Limited at the end of August. My first truck. After driving a Mustang GT (8 cylinder) for several years I didn't want to go back to anything in a 4 banger. Looked at the F150 in multiple engines and didn't like the power transfer to the wheels or noticed defects (steering shimmy which dealer said it would be fixed during dealer prep - sorry....I work at a Toyota factory and if it came out of the factory that way there is something wrong that dealer prep won't catch). I wanted something reliable and the Tundra was the best. The 5.7L engine will drive the truck 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds. Tons of room inside the cabin. You can manage your fuel economy by watching your acceleration from a stop, find the "sweet spot" speed/RPM.

I think you are right in suspecting ground or other electrical gremlins. If all is normal until you hit the starter then start tracing those wires. You might have a frayed wire that when you hit the starter it shorts out. See if there is a test for the starter itself. Haven't seen anyone post issues with bad starters but there is always the first one. Check electrical connection at this point since you hear the "pop" coming from this area.

WOWZY WOW WOW WOW!! Prayers Up for all my/our Hurricane Michael riders!!!
XV1100SE replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Glad he is okay. Thoughts for our Southern riders and hope anyone in the path are okay. These "once in 100 years" storms will be more common now. Weather people were saying the Gulf was up to 6 degrees warmer than normal and that is why the hurricane picked up strength so quickly. Whether you acknowledge it or not, global warming is here and strong storms will be much more frequent. Arctic ice shields are getting smaller ... even a more permanent route for ships has opened up. Forest fires will get worse as they dry up from the warmer temperatures... -
Spent all my MC money on a new(to me) truck today.
