  1. A good ride and ice cream and great company ! Looking forward to next Wednesday !
  2. Nancy and I will be there ! Start tomorrow?
  3. Thank you !
  4. I picked up a pair of SWAT boots at the Toronto motorcycle show. Very light and can wear them all day. http://www.originalswat.com/productdetail.php?product_id=NTY=&category_id=MTA=
  5. So how do you have the Canadian and U.S. maps in your signature? Is it a matter of putting them together in one jpg or is there a way to have two pics in your signature?
  6. Hope I haven't taken the quote out of context... but for those looking for proof.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60424 As a first time attendee I had a great time and am looking forward to the next event. Won't be attending Cody but will be going to the NY meet in the fall. Great group of people !
  7. My thanks to Pioneer Motorsport for supporting MD ! Hope to see you at more of the Venture meets. Although.... having you there made it too tempting to add more to the bike ! (and I for one didn't resist!)
  8. People acknowledge each other differently so whatever they are comfortable. New riders who don't want to let go of the grips will often just raise their fingers. Otherwise, quite often depends on a person's mood whether they put their hand out high or low. I find that when I extend my arm with my hand up (like signaling a right turn) even the Harley and Wing riders will wave back ! As for the passenger getting involved and waving back... great... and how they wave is up to them.
  9. Can't think of a caption for these two pics.... who is that guy on the back of the Gold Wing?
  10. As a first time attendee I'd also like to say thank you for a great get together ! Looking forward to next year !
  11. If anyone else from Kitchener wants to meet up along the way to Carl's, I'm in the Fischer Hallman/Westmount area. PM me and we can make arrangements. My phone number is on my profile as well. Keep in mind the highway 24 between Paris and Carl's is under construction (or was the last time I went that way). Best to take Trussler.
  12. My girlfriend is unable to go to MD with me so... if anyone wants to share a room I have one booked at the Quality Inn for Friday and Saturday night. I'll be at the dinner Friday night or depending on the time you arrive you can ask for me at the hotel. PM me and I'll get it on my Blackberry if you are interested. I should mention... it is a smoking room that is reserved. Don Tohivsky
  13. Thanks ! Put me down for one. Chad has my info but I'll follow up with him.
  14. You'll also need the wiring harness. There are isolator's and converters. I am using a converter (5 to 4 pin with power from the bike). Some people have said that their 4-way lights don't work after connecting the trailer but I find that using the converter (do a search for Reese to see a post on what I'm using - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58204&highlight=reese - http://reese.cequent-cpi.com/product...l.asp?ID=78014 ) I don't have any issues and it supports LED lights as well.
  15. It may not be in your book since the company making the adapters is just in the process of shipping them to Yamaha USA. When I contacted the Canadian dealer they were able to get info from Yamaha Canada. Check the thread I started for more details. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=592302#post592302
  16. I'll be riding with the group as well. Still to be determined whether I meet at Carl's or Waynes.
  17. My understanding is that you plug the iPOD into an interface and plug it into the C-Bus connector in the left saddle bag. Using the interface you can then control the iPOD from the radio controller on the handle bar. I checked with my local (Canadian) dealer and they called Yamaha Canada. The interface is not available in Canada and my not be. To get it, Canadian's have to go thru a U.S. dealer. I left a message for Chad at Pioneer Motorsport to find out price and availability. http://isimplesolutions.com/ http://isimplesolutions.com/integration-iPhone-iPod-SoundByte.aspx Q - How does the iSimple SoundByte work? A - The iSimple SoundByte uses your car’s CD changer port (sometimes located in the trunk or glove compartment) to connect an iPod or iPhone directly to its factory-installed stereo. This connection gives you excellent sound quality, as well as enabling you to select tracks using the FFWD / RRWD buttons just like a CD changer. Q - Does the iSimple SoundByte show Song, Title and Artist info on the radio display? A - Unfortunately, the iSimple SoundByte does not currently display Song, Title and Artist data. Because your car stereo “thinks” the iSimple SoundByte is an auxiliary CD player, you will see “TRACK” along with a track number on your display.
  18. Left a voice mail for Chad.... I'd like front and back Scinterred brakes. Do you have any word on the RSV to iPOD adapter? Called my local dealer and they said it is U.S. only. If you can get one... I'll take it. Hmmmmm..... maybe I should have asked the price first ! (oh.... and don't forget.... you promised me a Star baseball cap ! )
  19. Thanks again Carl and Marca. Enjoyed the day !
  20. Another member started a thread about having not received their Star branded iPod Touch yet. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60075 From the other thread... "reason for getting the ipod touch is that Clarion no longer makes the CD changers for Yamaha. I have the cable in the saddlebag but no CD changer. I was told the dealers don't know a lot about what is going on with the ipod touch. The ipod touch will come with an adapter to plug into the CD cable in the saddlebag. This ipod touch is the replacement for the CD changer." I did a search and found a Chinese site that indicated production numbers of 60,000/year for the Venture. In it it describes the audio system : "Single-point audio control system for AM/FM radio, CB radio, cassette, and intercom.MP3-compatible and headset-ready.The system also includes a Star-branded iPod touch®(8GB) with an iSimple™Solutions audio interface by AAMP of America." http://fooktaitrade.en.made-in-china.com/product/DqXxzEdbnopv/China-2011-YAMAHA-Royal-Star-Venture-S-Motorcycles.html I emailed AAMP of America and this was the response : "I am aware of the project. I believe that will be a Yamaha product only and will have to be source from a Yamaha dealer. The product shipped last week however I'm not sure how and when Yamaha will start the distribution. Please contacting the corp. office in the Southern California for more information. Regards Clifton Brown Aamp of America Technical Support" I think I'll be ordering one !
  21. I've started another thread on this but I emailed AAMP today and this was their response : "I am aware of the project. 22. Did a search and from http://fooktaitrade.en.made-in-china.com/product/DqXxzEdbnopv/China-2011-YAMAHA-Royal-Star-Venture-S-Motorcycles.html saw "Single-point audio control system for AM/FM radio, CB radio, cassette, and intercom.MP3-compatible and headset-ready.The system also includes a Star-branded iPod touch®(8GB) with an iSimple™Solutions audio interface by AAMP of America." Can't find it on the iSimple or AAMP site, or Yamaha.
