  1. U.S. Features/Additional Features : Single-point audio control system for AM/FM radio, cassette, 6 disc CD changer and intercom is MP3-compatible and headset-ready. The system also includes a Star-branded iPod touch (8GB) with an iSimple SolutionsTM audio interface by AAMP of America. Canada : Clarion AM/FM cassette stereo features automatic volume control (AVC), 18-FM presets, 6-AM presets, covered cassette deck and remote controllers for rider and passenger. There is a front auxillary plug-in for an MP3 player. We don't even get a free CD-Changer and the US has both CD-Changer AND iPod w/interface and we pay more ! Canada gets Metallic Black M as the colour. Don't know what "Intense Black" means.
  2. WOW !!!! In the picture for the 2012 they FINALLY show the cb antenna on the correct side ! See.... there is a change in the new bike ! Other interesting thing.... 2012 is rated at 39mpg, 2011 at 42mpg (U.S.). Canadian site shows 51mpg Imperial (18kpl) for both years. Canadian site says pricing will be announced in Dec 2011. 2011 model price is - Canada - $23,899 msrp; US - $20,090 2012 model price is - Canada - $ ? ; US - 20190. Hmmmm.... isn't the U.S./CDN $ roughly at par? We pay $3,809 more.... THAT doesn't make sense !
  3. Word in a previous thread said that the revamped Venture would be announce in 2012 for 2013 release. Until then... status quo.
  4. iPod isn't included in Canada. We get the 'S' model in metallic black. We can get the cd-changer for $865.

  11. NP. Like radio station presets it is one of those things I have to look up myself when I disconnect the battery and have to reset them.
  12. From manual (99-11) page 4-5 :
  13. Congratulations !
  14. Enjoy your test ride ! And remember, the way the dealer sets it up can probably be improved (air pressure in forks, shock). Hopefully you'll be a new owner !
  15. Has anyone looked at these? http://www.lindbycustom.com/index.htm
  16. Haven't seen anything posted for tonight. I won't make it tonight. Just got home from work.
  17. And the VRStore? Are all items current?
  18. Also... if there is any fringe/streamers attached to brake or clutch handles wind catching them will trip the cruise. I hit set and hold it for a second and then release the throttle. You are right that it takes a second to engage and holding the set button in for a second does the trick. That locks in the speed.
  19. Another vote for the old way. Not really hijacking the thread but in the VRStore.... are all the items still available? Not sure if this area needs a little house keeping.
  20. Gotta have pictures ! Hope you stick around the site.
  21. Was 50 F on my ride in to work today. Supposed to be a high of 66 F this afternoon. Long range is 75 F as high for the week on Friday.
  22. Have a safe ride home !
  23. Do a search for "valve stem" and you'll find some hits and recommendations.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60810&highlight=tire+valve http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=56254&highlight=valve+stem http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53601&highlight=valve+stem http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26352&highlight=valve+stem
  24. If the bike uses two throttle cables... order both. When one goes the other can't be far behind !
  25. To raise/lower the aim you have to loosen the fastener inside the pot. Requires taking the bulb out to vet at it. See the tech article on installing passing lights for info on where they should be aimed.
