  1. The green indicator is to the right of the user name on the post.
  2. Isn't the "Thanks" button somehow related to a person's status or the "awards" they get? I can see how a "Like" and a "Thanks" is different - "I like your comments" vs "you've been a big help and I appreciate it!" Rating and tagging keywords in threads isn't something I've played around with much. I imagine tagging keywords makes the search quicker.
  3. Wet contact in the plug shorting out? I found with my lower headset cord that if I moved the cable by the plug a certain way I'd get a squeel. Had J&M replace the cord and no more squeel.
  4. I put the Custom Dynamics lights on the rear. They turn the rear signal lights into turn/run/brake lights. Very bright. I also upgraded the rear brake light to the 100 led cluster. Can't figure out how to paste the thread address using this tablet but if you do a search for Custom Dynamics you'll see the thread I did on the install.
  5. Past time to take it to a different dealer !
  6. Think the only gps to upgrade to from a 660 would be the 665 with satellite radio. The Zumo 660 is one of the latest and greatest.
  7. That was funny
  8. From MC News... for comparison :
  9. Glad you are okay.

  11. 12,000 km this season....so far. 2C overnight now and 17C as a high for the day. Will ride til it snows.
  12. Good time to get another bike... and also finish the garage !
  13. Bet she didn't have insurance... or her license was suspended.

    Keys

Don't think your issue is with Yamaha but the dealer itself. True, Yamaha should have replaced the locks with matching sets so one key works all but the dealer must have caused the initial problem (mix and match locks/keys). Call Yamaha again.
  15. Here is the chrome trim piece with a small blemish on ebay. Pinwall - current bid $4.95 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Venture-Royal-Star-XVZ1300-BOTTOM-TREE-COVER-/200652206811?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb7cdb2db
  16. I replaced the tail light and rear signal lights with LED's from Custom Dynamics. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63006 I put the load balancer under the seat and connected it to the brown/green wires that run to the rear signals. When you put the load balancer for the rear signals in make sure you are getting the wires going to the rear and not doubling up on the front signal lights. I haven't replaced the front signal lights but according to Custom Dynamics if you change the front to LED you put in a balancer on the front signals too. My signals flash at the correct pace, self-cancel works properly, and my four way flashers still work.
  17. Best of luck tomorrow ! Don't rush riding until you are healed.
  18. Maybe they expect cassettes to make a big come back? At least they don't offer an 8-track !
  19. Would like to have seen the video from a minute earlier when the accident happened. Always good to know how an accident happened to try to avoid the same situation myself.
  20. If I understand the chrome part you are looking for it is on the Steering section of the parts diagram is item 26, part number 4NK-23122-01-00 COVER, OUTER 1 Local dealer can't get them? Try Pioneer Motorsports in Chaffee NY. From searching threads... is the person you tried to contact Tony Dathan dathan@shaw.ca ? Apparently there is someone on the Delphi forum that produces them too.

  22. Was probably a US bike. I looked at one at Hully Gully a couple years ago that they had brought in from the US. No warranty in Canada so the only option was to pay for a warranty. Sounds like the same thing you saw.
  23. At least in Canada it is shown as an "unlimited" warranty still.... for now.
  24. Hope you have a great trip home !
