Guns don't kill... people do. BUT.... if it isn't your gun and someone else loaded it and you didn't know.... think you are not guilty. Mind you.... aren't there some States where you can shoot anyone that steps on your property (trespass?). One of your "Amendments" isn't it? (not bashing.... just kidding around !) At least in Canada we have a "long gun" registry to keep us safe. Never mind hand guns... only register those weapons that you can't hide !

Sorry... but I see the Prosecutor's point. - wasn't her car so she wasn't responsible for the mis-matched tires - they couldn't prove that her losing control was due to careless driving or because of the mis-matched tires. The Defense would have argued that the tires caused her to lose control.... prove otherwise - article didn't say that she had been driving recklessly... only that she had just passed someone Much as I hate that a rider has died... but from the Prosecution's point of view they probably felt they couldn't win on the higher charge. Better for them to settle for the lesser guilty verdict. Hopefully she (and her brother who owned the car) carry this death with them for a long time.

I'd be careful with that rack. If you look at the posts it looks like there is nothing between them to spread out the weight. Look at the Yamaha one... you'll see chrome strips running between the posts. http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/4/83/404/all/all/131/0/detail.aspx From the one you posted, all the weight is around the posts and could actually punch thru the lid of the trunk if you put too much weight on it. As it is, I think the maximum weight for the Yamaha one is 20lbs.

Princess Auto.... $15. http://www.princessauto.com/pal/product/8138224/Fuses/breakers/Fuse-and-Circuit-Panel Doesn't have a cover and that is why I'm planning on putting it under the seat (or 2nd choice inside the fairing).
-
I got a ganged six fuse block at Princess Auto. Thinking I'll move the trailer isolator to the area between the battery and fender (outside of battery box) and put the fuse holder between the battery and back wall of the battery box.

Figured that over the winter I'd redo some of my wiring on my 2nd Gen by adding a ganged fuse block. Sounds like a great idea... until you connect it and then try to figure out where to put it ! I also want to wire in a cigarette lighter for use with an air compressor and wire in my GPS. Also planning on connecting a GPS tracking device. Have Stebel horn with harness... relay on right side of battery. Passing lights with relay behind battery. Have trailer isolator behind battery. Now... fuse block... On top of battery? Seat won't sit down. Behind batter? Where to put the isolator? On top of battery? Seat won't sit down. Hmmm.... where else is there space? Side panels... no room.... centre of frame under back end of fuel tank? Nope... too congested with plumbing.... Options : - put the fuse block in the front fairing and leave the isolator behind the battery....but then would have to run power wire from battery compartment for isolator, horn, cigarette lighter to the fairing. The passing lights relay would be in the fairing. - move the isolator to outside of the plastic panel between battery and fender and fuse block behind battery... What have others done?

Happy birthday Larry !!!

Think that brings the RSV finally in line with U.S. pricing. Guess they finally figured out that the Cdn $ has been hovering around par with the US $

There is an easy way to prevent fraudulent use of your credit cards.... spend to the max and keep them at the limit ! Supposed to be good for the economy too !

It doesn't move the passenger back that much... maybe an inch... but they do notice the extra space. You aren't moving the seat back, just the back rest for the passenger. You should move the rubber under the trunk so the plastic bottom of the trunk isn't resting on the rail .... vibration could damage the shell.

If you aren't familiar with Monty Python... search for the "Dead Parrot" skit or the "Lumberjack song", movies "Life of Brian", "Meaning of Life", "Holy Grail" (laughed hard when the Black Knight had his limbs cut off and still wanted to fight!), "And Now for Something Completely Different". John Cleese was funny in "Fawlty Towers".... "Some things in life are bad, They can really make you mad. Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle, Don't grumble, give a wistle! +1 vote on the Stebel horn. Look at Custom Dynamics. I replaced my brake light with the 100 LED cluster and also the rear turn signals to be signal/run/brake light. I did a write up on the install. Talk about lighting up the rear ! That way the 1st Gen'ers can see you disappear into the distance in front of them !!! Displaying the colours with a flag is good with either a trunk rack mounted pole or saddle bag rail mount. Just watch the diameter of the rail before buying the mount. And I really don't care which Gen is faster... not how fast you get there but that you do get there in one piece and enjoy the ride !

Congratulations !

Must be nice.... 9 degrees F here last night and 18F now.

Not related to the shock change... but is the accessory plug under the seat by the battery on a 2nd Gen. Can be used to add accessory power (cigarette lighter) under the seat to be used for a compressor, other powered accessories (the one on the fairing only has a 5A fuse), or for a cigarette lighter. There is a hole below the seat on the left side with a rubber grommet where you can put the accessory plug. Oh... I liked the small sledge hammer. A must have for delicate projects !
