Center Kickstand 2006 Venture
XV1100SE replied to Keystonenc's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yours is a 2nd Gen so you'll get more responses there, but.... Recent threads... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67490 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64482 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1427 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=59892 (made by Ponch but not sure if he has any available or when he'll get back to making things) http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54409 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23020 If you do a search above for center stand you'll find lots of hits. I've given you recent ones. Basically... Rivco has a center stand but some people that have put a center stand on their RSV had issues getting the bike up or off. And welcome to the forum ! -
Just couldn't wait to hit the road ! Would have liked to see that picture ! => Tom.... "which slippers do I wear for the ride today? Hmmm... weather for the dogs? Cow? Maybe my pink piggies?"

He is still selling them. I just got one a couple weeks ago. Just send him a private message.

I'm in Kitchener in the Fischer Hallman/Westmount area. I have an R-Mark hitch on my 07 RSV and easily accessible. If you want to take a look let me know. If you haven't already noticed, riders/members from this area are meeting at Pioneer BBQ on Sportsworld drive on March 24th for dinner. You can RSVP in the calendar. Right now there are 21 people confirmed. Great way to start to get to know the people in the area. We also do a Wednesday evening ride in the summer out of Brantford (organized by MarCarl). Don

The RSV only needs regular unleaded. As written in other threads, going to the higher octane doesn't get you anything other than a lighter wallet. I'm lucky, my Mustang GT only needs regular unleaded too. Mind you.... at $1.30/Litre it is a lot better than paying $1.40-$1.50 for premium unleaded !

Yes.... but not much has changed since it began ! So, any change will be "breaking news"! Might even make CNN.... for days and days and days and days .... Reminds me of a play "Much ado about Nothing". If work does begin, it will be a movie (Monty Python) "And now for Something Completely Different".

I'm sure I saw pictures of the trailer in another thread and was going to add a link in this thread to them.... but I can't find the other thread now. Don .... remember the rule !!! Need pictures !!!!

"Authorities reported the three deaths in southern Indiana, where Clark County Sheriff’s Department Maj. Chuck Adams said the 1,900-person town of Marysville is “completely gone.” Extreme damage was also reported in the nearby town of Henryville, home to about 2,000 people."

Boston news said that up to 50 tornadoes touched down today in the U.S. mid-West.
-
Per CNN....happened this morning : A tornado emergency was declared in Madison County, Alabama, as a large and dangerous tornado was reported to have caused widespread damage in the city of Meridianville .... In adjacent Limestone County, just west of Huntsville, at least one apparent tornado was reported.... Forecasters said the areas most at risk for twisters on Friday would be southern Indiana, southern Ohio, most of Kentucky, central Tennessee, northeastern Mississippi and northwestern Alabama. Hope our members in those areas are safe !

1999 to current changes

Good write up Goose ! As for cd-changer.... think in 2011/2012 they started sending a Yamaha labelled iPod and adapter instead of the cd-changer. Uses the cbus connector in the saddle bag for the interface.- 22 replies

I think you MAY have a winner there !

Reading thru this thread it is interesting to see how many people that posted two years ago are still here.... and are from the original group of members. For me, joined about a year before I bought my RSV in 2010. Took that long to find the right deal so gave me lots of time to "research" on this site. I had joined the V'ers site too but found this site to be the better of the two. Must be the people !

I sold my '99 Virago 1100 last summer (bought it new in '99). Great bike, solid motor, quality, and fast (like the 2nd Gen RSV !) I had been thinking of keeping it as a one-up bike but was using the RSV daily so finally gave it up. Sold it last summer for $3600 CDN. It was mint and looked like it had just come out of the show room. I took very good care of that bike. One of the reasons I went with the RSV is that the seating/foot position is similar to the Virago and you won't find a more comfortable OEM seat on any similar bike. As for get-up-and-go...it is quick off the line and with two-up the fastest I had it going was 195km/h and there was still room for more ! As long as it was taken care of (oil changes and maintenance) you can't go wrong with the Virago.

Snowing in the Woodstock/Kitchener area now. Freezing rain coming afterwards. Whoever sent it.... next time, send some warm temperatures please !
