  1. Out for a ride tonight in the Paris (Ontario) area and met a Harley rider from Brantford who said his brother rides an '09/'10 RSV and lives in the Trenton area. He said he has a dental office in Kitchener but lives in Brantford. Anyone on this site want to claim the brother? (and yes, Dentists make good money but doubt he'll adopt anyone !)
  2. Looks good ! Nice clean install ! Drilling or cutting into fairing or trunk lid is always an exciting moment !
  3. What is the key on the right side of your fairing for?
  4. Bike will still run without the cassette !
  5. Glad your daughter is fine !
  6. Yes... newer, improved.... FASTER !
  7. She making you sleep with it?
  8. The best way to keep a thread going is to talk about one or all of the following : Guns Religion Politics ONLY KIDDING ! Way to keep a thread going : - talk about contractors that don't want to contract - girls with angry boyfriends... and make it sound like something is going on, then deny it - what's faster - 1st Gens or 2nd... and what colour - who has the most bling on their bike - with this group.... where the best ice cream can be found Oil and tires get old fast....
  9. Sad when there are people that truly need the little change they may get and you get people who don't need it doing it. Christmas Day... didn't see anyone panhandling at the corners where there is usually someone with their hand out. Where do these "homeless" people go for Christmas? Think they'd get even more on that day !
  10. You want the 401's to fit the stock openings.
  11. I added an accessory plug on the left side below the seats. There is already a hole there for an accessory plug (has a plastic cap on it). I ran power to it from a fuse block I added this winter rather than connect to the existing accessory power connector under the seat.
  12. Congratulations Carl ! (nobody tell him that if a member rides by his house without stopping in that he'll have the power disable the member's account!)
  13. Glad you are okay !
  14. Wasn't me either !
  15. Our condolences. Don and Nancy

    Congratulations !
  17. You aren't meant to have a garage. Face it... contractors that don't show up or do the work wrong... now nature is against you.
  18. We are sorry for your loss and pass our condolences to you. Don and Nancy
  19. Glad your daughter is ok. That is the important part of all this.
  20. There are two parts to adding driving lights. One is the bar that holds the lights, the other are the two lights themselves. The lights will have wires connected to the socket that you either run thru the light bar and back into the fairing for connection to switch/relay, etc. There is NOT a pre-wired cable for adding passing lights. The blue wire you refer to might be the one in the headlight harness to connect to the relay to determine when the passing lights come on (all the time, with high beam, with low beam) but you'll want to add a switch as well. See the write up on adding passing lights. It documents the process. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43898 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1656 If you do a search for "passing lights" you'll find lots of discussions.
  21. Go to a Yamaha dealer and ask them to change the name on the registrations (in case of recall) and when they pull up the bike's info by VIN... they can tell you where the bike was originally sold and when.
  22. A co-worker has a V-Star 950 and is wiring up a radio but wants it to come on with key in accessory position. He is hooking it up thru a relay but not sure where to wire it in for "ignition switched" for this situation. Anyone have a soft copy (file) of the shop manual or have any background in this? Thanks !
  23. We'll make the 6 o'clock news !
  24. We should have a slipper day during the International ... in Tom's honour !
  25. General concensus is Avon or Dunlop E3's. The 404's aren't for a bike as heavy as the RSV.
