Before you buy, consider the 5 year warranty. It starts from date of original sale. If purchased in 2006 then the warranty expired in 2011 (doesn't matter how many times it has changed hands). If originally purchased in 2009 you have a warranty until 2014. -

If you go to Forum/Second Gen and Royal Star Technical Library - READ ONLY! you'll see "Known problems and things to look for". There you'll see "A list of known problems on the Second Gen Venture " http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1067 Never mind the comments from the aged 1st genner's.... the list of problems is far more extensive than those for 2nd gen's. -

If anyone wants to meet in Paris tonight at 7.... I need to know as soon as possible. PM me by 5pm. I'll still be coming to Woodstock on Saturday to catch other members too....

Tonight at 7pm at the Tim Horton's on Rest Acres Rd then. I'll bring Trader's shirts with me.

For those that won't be around on Saturday.... could arrange for a coffee this evening or Friday evening. Paris Tim Horton's on Rest Acres Rd at 7pm ? For a first round of t-shirt deliveries.... was thinking this Saturday : 11am to noon - Woodstock Tim Horton's (566 Norwich Avenue/County Rd 59 exit - North of 401) 1:30pm to 2:30pm - Brantford Tim Horton's (403 and Garden Ave) 4pm-5pm - Mississauga Tim Horton's (800 Bancroft Dr - South of 401 on Mavis) Let me know if you can make one or all of these locations/times. Will be starting out from the Tim Horton's in Kitchener at 401/Homer Watson (will be there about 9am, leave at 9:30am). Anyone that wants to do the ride with us is more than welcome. Please post here if you are available on Saturday and at which point you will be meeting us. If no one is available in a certain area I'll cancel that leg of the journey and reschedule. Thanks !

I picked up the t-shirts during my lunch at work today. Tonight I'll start sorting them and will try to get them in the mail this weekend.... which probably means Monday. For those local to the London-Toronto area, I'll look at the weekend weather and see what we can do about meet and greets. Thinking Woodstock/London, Brantford, Mississauga.

head light goes out and comes back on

With a "short"... you'd be blowing fuses. With bad connection it would just be intermittent on/off. -
head light goes out and comes back on
XV1100SE replied to rogerhessler's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I had the same issue but I'm guilty. What I found was that one of my connections for the passing light wasn't making a good connection. Found it by opening the fairing and wiggling wires until the headlight came on. Because the passing light cut-in was to the wire that allows "always on" (as opposed to only with high or low beam) it cut the headlight out no matter if the switch was on high or low beam. Headlight would be on sometimes when starting the bike and then cut out... occassionally back on. Passing lights stayed on even though the headlight cut out, making me think it was a bad headlight bulb. Bad crimp where I cut into the wiring caused the issue. -

Hate hearing about any biker that has an accident. So we don't get into a helmet discussion.... whether or not he was wearing a helmet in this case doesn't matter. Being thrown into a pole... as they say, its the sudden stop that kills you. Ride safe everyone. -
Help? Front Fork Air Pressure
XV1100SE replied to V4ME's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
They do that so that there is a known weight on the forks/shock... or there abouts. Something they can predict and then have a recommended maximum. For example... bike on the ground with saddle bags and trunk loaded, maybe with a passenger sitting on the bike... Hey, some people would do it. On a lift... there is no additional load on the forks/shock. Only thing not accounted for is wear on the forks/shocks themselves. -
Our condolences to your family. Don & Nancy

Shirts were done by the screen printer on the 19th. I just haven't had a chance to get over to pick them up yet. Hate it when work gets in the way of personal stuff. I'll pick them up on Monday or Tuesday and send them asap. Thanks for the orders !
