  1. For those interested... per pm from Steve (The Count) : So, here is the collective thinking. 1) set this for Monday 2) Niagara or Collingwood (need to consider vacation traffic and cars) - Trying to be home by around 7:00pm. Some of us work Tuesday. 3) eats along the way, tbd. Could be Trailers bbq or a road restaurant 4) Spargue for Monday, then work the next day is a little much. NOT Sprague this time. I would prefer a Saturday to do this. 5) SO, the big question on Venturerider.org posting and have who ever come, is your choices. Will update this thread on meeting point, plans.... as they develop.
  2. Thanks for posting. Sounds like it was a rider that actually wrote it.
  3. There was talk of a weekend run to Spragues on Saturday. Is it still planned?
  4. Aren't we only supposed to respond if we DIDN'T get the message?
  5. I know nobody asked me.... :-) I'm in working in Woodstock this week which means I work slightly later than when I'm in Cambridge. Will try to make it but if we aren't there by 6:25.... start without us.
  6. Glad we got everything done for you. Good thing we did everything but the clutch fluid until Carl arrived. :-) Thanks to Carl and Steve for coming over. Was a good one-bike-mini-maintenance day! Have you noticed a difference with the steering after tightening it?
  7. Our condolences to Dan and his family.
  8. If you are coming thru Ontario... post your schedule and route. Hopefully get together with you and other Ontario members.
  9. Would like to but Thursday July 4th is a working day for us Canadians. July 1st is our holiday... and understand there is a possible run to Spragues on June 29th.
  10. I would also like to thank everyone involved and especially Bob for hosting a great BBQ and putting up with us Canucks ! Was great to meet some new members and to see some good friends. Thank you for a great day ! (we missed the rain on the way home. Almost like there was a tunnel between the rain and we got home safe and dry)
  11. Check your connections inside the fairing. Could also be a connection "short" on the antenna I suppose, but I'd start with the connections in the fairing.
  12. No relation between antenna and input from mp3. Are you using the input in front of the cassette or do you have an mp3 input using the cd connector in the saddlebag?
  13. I was always told never to put anything other than soap and water on the seat and tires.
  14. Couple things... The chrome windshield trim uses tabs (plastic/ABS) that clip into the fairing to hold it in place. It is common for them to be broken. Dealers have been known to break them when assembling the bike. There is an easy fix - http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=516. If the tabs are broken or not inserted in the fairing properly it will be loose. You'll also notice that the metal bar that runs from side to side and fastens to the plastic fittings by the speakers break. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20293 Splitting the fairing is a piece of cake - 4 screws on either side plus the bolt for the headlight and it comes off. If you have passing lights then hopefully you also have the passing light bracket (if not, contact SlowrollWV - he makes them). If you don't have the spacer and have passing lights you need to remove the passing lights. For directions on splitting the fairing see http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=494 If you want help, let me know.
  15. Who said there was a part 3 ?
  16. Continuation of poll...
  17. Continuation of poll.... Didn't finish it in time.... can't delete thread.
  18. (I'm bored at work... nothing to do so finding ways to fill the time) Thanks for the responses to the two polls I did about what a touring bike should have. Lets add a few more items to the poll. Results from previous polls : Majority want : ABS Fuel Injection Frame mounted fairing Liquid cooled Shaft drive Height adjustable windscreen NON V-Twin (4 or more cylinders) "Classic" styling From the numbers, it seemed to be split on : CB Built-in GPS Satellite radio .... and surprisingly, only a few people want a cassette !
  19. Nice when you have multiple offers to choose between ! Sun is shining on you !
  20. UPDATE : This is what I have so far for people coming from Ontario : Chabicheka/Abdul (Toronto) DonMc/Don and wife/Marilyn (Limehouse/Halton Hills area) Wizard765/Wayne and wife/Robin (Caledonia) Us- XV1100SE/Don and wife/Nancy (Kitchener) We'll meet in Caledonia at the Tim Horton's as previously mentioned (actually in the plaza parking lot directly beside Tim's) at 9am and leave at 9:30am. That should put us in Chaffee around noon-12:30. We'll stop at Pioneer Motorsport (almost forgot that I have some parts to pick up) then be at Bob's around 1-1:15pm. Wayne will lead the group to Ft Erie where we'll cross the border. Weather forecast for SW Ontario is afternoon showers and for Chaffee area sunny with clouds and 29C.
  21. Refer him (and Yamaha) to the two polls I started on what this gruop wants in a touring bike.
  22. I thought Ray had said somewhere that he wanted to go but couldn't find a post from him when I looked.
  23. This is what I have so far for people coming from Ontario : Chabicheka/Abdul (Toronto) DonMc/Don and wife/Marilyn (Limehouse/Halton Hills area) DarkHorse9825/Ian and wife (London) Wizard765/Wayne and wife/Robin (Caledonia) me - XV1100SE/Don and wife/Nancy (Kitchener) Please confirm that you are still available to come on Saturday June 22nd. My understanding is that DonMc is okay with starting the trip from Caledonia... DarkHorse9825 is coming from London....so...how about if we meet in Caledonia at the Tim Horton's plaza (Argyle St. N. and Orkney St. E.) and take the river to hwy 3 etc.. cross in Ft Erie. Chaffee is only 45 Minutes from Ft. Erie. If anyone would prefer to meet in Brantford at the Service Centre at 403 and Garden Ave I could meet them there and then pick up others in Caledonia. As for times.... leave 403/Garden Ave at 9am, leave Caledonia at 9:30am. This would mean that we do NOT go to Casablanca in Grimsby unless someone lets me know that Casablanca is a must do stop. I'll pm those on the list above to confirm who is going and if those times are okay with everyone. I don't mind making it an earlier start but for those coming from further away I was thinking the times I posted here would be easier. Anyone else interested in coming for the ride and lunch served by Bob... let me know.
  24. Welcome to Toyota !
