Hopefully someone that knows the connections in the fairing better can respond as to how/where the saddle bag c-bus cable is connected. If you disconnect the cassette and connect the iSimple to the saddle bag cable, does the iSimple still work?
-
I did a write up when I got my iSimple two years ago... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63049 Hope this helps. Doesn't answer your question about connecting it to the cassette cable and removing the cassette... but might be something you missed with which input to use on the iSimple ?

Outstanding. Class act. Kudos Don. Think it boils down to a member selling something and the site advertising a competing product. Sort of like adding a banner advertising the "other" Venture site.... a Ford dealer advertising for GM.... Great site, great people... that's all that matters. Support member vendors, then suppliers that support the site.

10,000km, 6,200 miles 4 week trip in August from Ontario down to St. Louis, up to Iowa City Iowa, across Nebraska, into South Dakota (camped on the Badlands, thru Custer State Park, saw Mt. Rushmore, thru Sturgis during bike week), across Wyoming (Devil's Tower, thru Ten Sleep, Yellowstone, road the Bear Tooth), thru Montana to Saskatchewan, across Manitoba, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Met some of the members during our trip (Phoneman1981, Friesman, Tomephil, Croissantwich)

Would you buy a Wagner Grill if they were available? (2nd Gen)
XV1100SE replied to XV1100SE's topic in Watering Hole
Just to clarify.... I am not looking into making the grills. Bert2006 asked about doing a poll to see how many would be interested in one so I posted this for him. I have received a pm from Ragtop69gs who indicated he spoke with Steve before his passing but they couldn't agree on a price. If someone wanted to start making them then the forms/details are probably still available from Steve's wife. -
what about a lock smith?

My understanding that black would allow you to have it painted any colour you want. I created this poll in answer to a thread started by Bert2006 - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=808947&posted=1#post808947 -
How to post a poll?
XV1100SE replied to Bert2006's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Glad I could help. I'd have to say there is a market for the grills. They do look good. Can't say you'd be selling hundreds per month... but if your out lay in money isn't too much it might be worth it if you like doing that kind of work. Good luck in your decision ! -
How to post a poll?
XV1100SE replied to Bert2006's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Go to the forum you want to post your poll in (ex "Watering Hole") and create a new thread. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the window and you'll see "Post a Pole" Click on the check box and select how many options you want polled. You do need to put something in the thread and then click on post. In the new window you can select if you want multiple choices... etc. I created the poll for you... so I could step thru it and post here. You could go to the test thread and try it there. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=83423 -

Sorry to hear the news -
I think the main advantage of this thread is that now a number of people who didn't know before know that Condor makes braces for 1st Gens. It has also made some newer members aware that there are member vendors. For those that don't know... click on Classifieds on the top bar and scroll down the window to "Member Vendors". Below that link are links to members selling their bikes, or parts. Condor - I don't see you listed under member vendors. Would be good if you posted your brace there. For those interested....Condor's ad is under 1st Gen parts - http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3849&title=fork-brace&cat=6 I think if a member makes/sells parts they should be under the Member Vendors. 1st/2nd Gen parts should be used parts or one off parts being sold. Makes it harder to find out who makes what if it is under the parts section. I hadn't noticed before that the drop down for a member shows "Visit Xxxxxx's homepage!". I usually check member vendors before buying things. If a member makes a part I'll buy it from them first. If there is a recommendation from a member I'll consider buying what is recommended. Then I'll look at the banners. Finally do a search on the Internet. SlowRollWV... don't see your list of parts under member vendors !

Condor....I'd support you....if I had a 1st gen. As long as you have an ad on here, members should check the member vendors before they go elsewhere.

I paid $600 CDN for my Zumo 660 and then had to buy lifetime maps on top of it ($90 CDN). If it has the same functions PLUS of the Zumo 660 then it is comparable in price. For some getting a $50 gps on the bike is fine. I like the idea that the Zumo's are waterproof and you don't have to stop and cover it if it starts raining. I'm not saying that the price is reasonable....$700 is a lot even if you can mount it in your car or bike and comes with both mounts. I wish the price were 1/2 what it is.

Saw this posted today : http://canadamotoguide.com/2013/12/09/new-garmin-gps-takes-twisties/ " has several handy features, including a tire pressure monitor, and a service history log that lets the owner keep track of oil changes ... the new GPS is able to calculate the number of turns in a stretch of road, and can be configured to send you along those routes."

Supposed to keep you pants zipped up when you ride ! Dangerous otherwise. I've never had an issue with the laces or the zipper on my boots. Laces stay tied, zipper (on the boots) stays up.

Work Authority has the construction SWAT boots - http://www.workauthority.ca/products/simple_results.php# http://www.911gear.ca/original-swat-footwear-c-632.html To see a list of waterproof boots go to http://www.originalswat.com/us_en/products/where/shoe-type/high-(8-to-9-inch)/technology/waterproof.html Canadian contact - 1-855-225-4177 Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm ET. amaranth@originalswat.com PHONE 905.873.7030 93 Armstrong Ave Unit 1 Georgetown Ontario L7G 4S1 The boots are accurate for size. I got mine at the Toronto Motorcycle Show. If you wait another month you can probably see them there but call them to confirm they will be at the show.

I've been wearing SWAT boots for the last couple years. Great boots and the ones I got are definitely waterproof. I've worn them riding to work and worn them all day at work and are comfortable and have stood up to daily wear so I got a pair of their green patch boots (construction)..."steel" toe boots (not steel but a composite)... they aren't much heavier than my bike boots.

It was the 3 wise men that brought gifts. And they set the standard high with gold, frankincense and myrrh. Must have been a good idea to give gifts since they were wise. Besides.... can't ride with the cold and snow that some people have, what else are you going to do other than shop ?

It's not how much you spend but how much you save ! Get 2 and you saved $60 !!!

If the connector in the saddlebag is a round 5 (?) pin connector then that is the c-bus connector for a cd changer. The iSimple device is a square black box that would be mounted towards the rear of the saddlebag on the side by the tire. A cable runs from the c-bus connector to the iSimple box. The cable you describe is what connects to the iPod/iPhone and connects to the iSimple box. Normally the cable is routed to the mesh pouch inside the saddlebag so you can put the iPod in that pouch. If you are getting a Garmin gps (Zumo is waterproof but costs around $600+) then get the Buddy Rich cable. You put the gps mount on the handlebar and using the cable from the mount to the Buddy Rich cable and tie into the bike audio. Bluetooth from your phone to the gps and you can make/receive phone calls. If you need pics of the iSimple set up I can take pics of mine.
