  1. Happy birthday !
  2. Trike sets land speed record for custom trikes....and it was "printed" ! http://blog.stratasys.com/2013/12/26/3d-printed-trike-land-speed-record/?utm_source=outbrain&utm_medium=widget&utm_campaign=Stratasys_LowCTR&obref=ssys_LowCTR
  3. Before adding holes to the air box... read http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67770 Adding 4 or 6 holes with a diameter of 1/2" was being done for awhile but.... read the thread above and do a search for "holes in air box". You'll see multiple view points on the results.
  4. I did a write up (in read only tech section) a while ago - http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76515
  5. I put the K&N air filters in a few years ago. No change in mileage and I wouldn't say there is a noticeable increase in hp. The reason I got K&N was that the Yamaha dealer didn't have OEM filters in stock and for $20 or $30 more I got the K&N.
  6. Carl - If I can help you in any way, let me know. End of May should be fine for weather and great for temperatures.
  7. Congratulations !
  8. An Ontario MD would be great. I wish I had a place to hold it. If anyone from this area is able to do it I'll offer my assistance.
  9. Same thing happened to my '09 and it was the fuel pump. The fuel pump is behind the left side cover below the drivers seat.
  10. Can one of the moderators close this thread? Might be a bit premature to be discussing this.
  11. The Texas MD is at the end of March which is too iffy weather wise for us in the North. - http://venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=397&day=2014-3-29&c=1 March 29th in GA as well - http://venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=386&day=2014-3-29&c=1 The WI MD is June 28 - http://venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=391&day=2014-6-28&c=1 There may already be enough MD's set up. Not sure if those events could handle the increased numbers that would normally have attended Don's.
  12. Since Don is unable to host this year's Maintenance Day, it has been suggested that someone else host it this year. Please respond to the poll if you would attend an alternate location and if you have resources/space to host it. Maintenance Day is not a trivial event. 3 1/2 months to the original date and consider that : - need tools, compressor, covered area to work on bikes - dinner - has been catered before and would require collecting money from attendees. Could be set up similar to International registration with pre-payment. Could do dinner at a restaurant where everyone pays their own dinner. - accommodation - do you have an area where people can camp (hopefully free or low cost)? Hotels in the area that would discount to a reasonable price ? I'm sure there is a lot more to hosting Maintenance Day so before offering to host, consider the time requirement, organization, and financial commitment.
  13. I'll start a poll to see if there is interest. Doing a Maintenance weekend is probably a lot of work. Keep this in mind before committing to hosting. I'd be open to attending an alternate location.
  14. Sorry to hear that you are having issues Don. If there is anything I can do to help, just say what, where, and when.
  15. Mother Nature is really biting back.... did you see what happened at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky ? 8 cars into a sink hole http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/12/us/national-corvette-museum-cars-fall/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
  16. Ahhhhhh...... the Great White South ! Next thing you know they'll be saying 'aboot' and 'eh', wearing touques...... For those with the ice....stay safe and warm !

The '06 had a V shape to it. You could get the one for the 2013: 2C9-2416B-40 - $102 - http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-2C9-2416B-40-00.html 2C9-2417B-40 - $102 - http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-2C9-2417B-40-00.html You can see a picture of what the emblem looks like on the parts fiche : 2013 - http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=YAM#%2fYamaha%2fROYAL_STAR_VENTURE_S_-_XVZ13TFSDC_-_2013%2fFUEL_TANK%2fXVZ13TFSDC_(2013_MOTORCYCLE)%2fFUEL_TANK_(XVZ13TFSDC_-_2013) 2006 - http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=YAM#/Yamaha/ROYAL_STAR_MIDNIGHT_VENTURE_-_XVZ13TFMV_-_2006/FUEL_TANK/XVZ13TFMV_(2006_MOTORCYCLE)/FUEL_TANK_(XVZ13TFMV_-_2006) BTW - welcome to the forum.
  18. As the riding season approaches and people start planning their summer trips, how about a section for people to post their planned trips, maps, timing... so those nearby can set up meet and greets or offer accommodations for travelers. Would make it easier for people to post attractions and things to see along a travelers route and make suggestions, recommendations, and travel advice.
  19. 2nd that. Give us an idea on time frame when you know it and we'll set up a lunch or dinner with all the members in this area.
  20. Eck - where are you planning on going ?
