Someone with experience on the petcock can reply to this. Someone had mentioned the O-Ring which would be part 27 -
LOL yes, I know mine isn't an MM. Just saying I wasn't riding this week. There seem to be several Venture riders in this area that aren't on this forum.

Almost got creamed by an idiot on a CanAm trikel

To drink and ride when you need your full faculties about you when you ride... bad move on their part. No place for bar hopping when riding. Good that you called the police. You probably saved their lives. -
Wasn't me. I was off yesterday and today...and off tomorrow... but today was spent straightening our fence. Yesterday we had to go to Pearson to pick up my daughter. Tomorrow will be a ride day - to Caledonia to help Wayne figure out a couple things.

Front forks only take up to 7 lbs so I got one that registers to 30psi. You can take the rear shock higher. I find that with the 30psi pump I can better control the air to the forks. With the 60psi pump it is a little touchier. I usually have 25psi in the shock so having a 30psi pump isn't an issue.

Sounds like a great trip. One thing that Evan and his wife did was a blog as they went East. When we traveled West last year we did the same thing. Was a good way to keep friends, VentureRiders, and family up to date on how you are doing and where you are daily. Here is the link we did for our trip - http://ventureswest2013.blogspot.ca/2013/07/off-we-go.html

Here are some pics of the shirts I did 2 years ago. You'll have a choice of maple leave on the right sleeve or body.

Yes See parts diagram - 29:Fuel Tank (I've attached a screen shot) -
Ask them to do an email money transfer from their bank account. Since they are in Canada, they can send money via Interac email. You'll have the cash immediately and know for certain it is legit or not. Tell them you don't use Pay Pal...and watch them disappear.

SCAM is my opinion. For one... the English is terrible, the set-up is too weird...

Bodaggit23 - with gas in the tank... does the engine run if you put it on Reserve? Wondering if the pick-up is clogged...or for some reason your petcock needs to be replaced? -

royal star venture whining noise
XV1100SE replied to speakerfritz's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Being a 2013... and still under warranty... change the oil to the Yamalube, ride it till you get the whine, then take it back to the dealer. Let them attempt to resolve the issue first. Experimenting is for AFTER the warranty expires. -
Emroidery has been done as : First name User name Location, Province There have been some that didn't want their city on it.
-
Login name shows who we belong to. Mind you....with your user name I can see why she wouldn't want your name on it ! How about "Mrs. Beast"?

I just posted the thread to see who is interested. I'll give it a week and then determine whether there is enough demand.
-
There have been a lot of new Canadian members over the past two years so thought I'd see what the interest level is. Previous thread is http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=72461 Pricing should be close to the pricing last year but depending on quantity the price improves. Should be close to : 100% pre-shrunk white cotton shirts with a red maple leaf on the side (9" tall/9" wide), VR.org crest on the back, and up to 3 lines of text embroidered on the front (name, screen name, and city/province). If you prefer the maple leaf on the sleeve this is available as well. Cost of shirts including HST (including $2/shirt for use of VR.org crest) is : mens - $18.50 ; womens - $20.25 (based on 50 units ordered). Shipping charges - I went to the post office and had them give me pricing for shipping 2 shirts and 4 shirts to BC and Manitoba. To BC - $12.50 for 2, $15.25 for 4 To Manitoba - $10.25 for 2, $12.75 for 4 Use this pricing to give a fair approximation of shipping to your location. Eg. Saskatchewan/Nova Scotia use $11.50 for two shirts, $14 for four You can also go to canadapost.ca to calculate shipping charges - two shirts weigh 500g. I'll get Nancy to model the two variations tomorrow and post pics. Post here if you are interested in getting shirts - indicate how many of mens/womens you would like.
-
Front tire - 37psi Rear tire - 40psi Front forks - 3psi Rear shock - 25psi I'm 200 lbs. I don't change it when Nancy is with me (125lbs)

If you haven't used a heel-toe shifter before, don't be too eager to change it out. My previous bike (Virago 1100SE) had a toe shifter and I didn't think I'd like the heel-toe shifter. At this point...I wouldn't want to go back to a heel-toe shifter.

2nd Gen - if you have a Garmin Zumo, then you can bluetooth your phone to the Garmin and use a BuddyRich cable to tie into the bike communications. You can make/receive phone calls thru the gps. - iPod/iPhone for playing mp3's - you can get an iSimple device from Yamaha. Plug it into the left saddlebag cd connector and you can control it from the audio controls on the bike. If you don't have the cd cable in your saddlebag (pre 2009) then you can get the cable from Yamaha and connect it to the bike. 1st Gen can also use a BuddyRich cable (may be special for 1st Gen's) with a Zumo

Sppedometer error
XV1100SE replied to baylensman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I second using the speed reading on the gps...especially for cross-border travel. My bike is in KM/hr and when we are in the U.S. I set the gps for MPH. Even in Canada, I'll set the gps to KM/hr and use that to see what my actual speed is. My speedometer is off by 8-10%, which isn't a bad thing when you are in a school zone (so you go slower than the posted limit) or in a speed trap zone. -
Woman messing with cell phone plow over 4 bikes in Ohio...

When stopped, I keep an eye out behind me and if a car is approaching I'll flash my brake lights a few times. Always in 1st at a stop and try to leave an escape especially if I'm stopped behind another vehicle.
