Yes Owl, I will be there barring world catastrophe, blinding snow, or mechanical intrusion beyond repair. I'll be bringing ingredients to support my claim of whipping your arse in chili making. As for JODEE , she'll be right by my side cause I'm not letting her out of my sight with you around. Smooth talking great horne..d owl.

Thats where I'll be staying. Nice folks and rooms are very reasonable. Unless you want to camp with lots of others (which by the way is a ball, and near the chickens is the BESTEST place to set up camp) If you need a number let me know. It's called lake george pines motel. Ride safe and see ya there. God Bless. Mike

Haven't seen anything lately about PIP so thought I'd throw it in the mix of Cody messages. Got reservations set for Pines motel in Lake George. Whoever wins the chili cookoff in Cody is welcome to bring on down their winning recipe and challenge mine. Yes Russ, I'll even let you bring out your Betty Crocker oven (I'll supply the light bulb) and you can cry in your chili when your beat. Hope everyone has a safe trip to Cody and enjoy the scenery. Lots of Pictures are appreciated by those who couldn't make it. Ride safe, God Bless. Mike

Anybody know how much of a drop I need for water to drain properly on a cement porch. Right now I'm looking at 4" over a 12 foot span. Haven't poured yet, just framing it

Just finished an ironbutt ride last week. Started from Jefferson Iowa to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Then to New orleans. Pensecola, Florida to kentucky. Rode around there a bit then back to iowa. Total driving time 6 days and 3200 miles. Next year it'll be around the Great lakes and eastern seaboard.

Dennis, I want to thank you for a fantastic time, food, riding tour. I've been to many but yours sure ranks up with the best. Your bride was a real trooper with all our hectic antics and a personality to match. All and all, even with the key on mistake I had a blast and hopefully will see you both at the next gathering whether there or elsewhere. I'll post what pics I have when I get home. God Bless and ride safe. Mike

Picked up a new OEM rear shock for 400.00 and installed the leveling links someone very graciously gave to me today. I will never make the same mistakes again. Did you know if you don't put a jack in FRONT of the leveling links linkage you can't get that shock out for nothing? Nope, ain't gonna happen. Tried for 3 hours and my mind was becoming mush then I put jack where it needed to be and the shock just dropped out. Called it quits after getting shock in for the day putting everything back together but man that was a PITA. Going on Iron Butt ride this Sunday from Iowa to Hattiesburg Miss, then to New Orleans for a day. Then off to Panama City FL. From there were not sure if were going to North Carolina or Tenn. From there I want to try and make it to the Kentucky gathering on the 27th or 28th. Should be around a 3500-4000 mile ride all and all. Gonna have to get a little time in with the new shock and leveling links to get reacquainted to what a bike should feel like.

If I wasn't on a time frame for a Iron butt ride I'd do it in a heartbeat. But I could take a ride down there another time before that and help. Numbers in profile gimme a call
-
Wish you were closer to where I'm heading in Tenn. I coulda brought carbtune along. I'll be cutting pretty much straight through middle of TN heading north.

I AM in need so lets hope to hear something back soon lol.

Thanks, answered my question and more. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet. Doing an Iron Butt ride end of month and crammed for time to do something to get by. Appreciate all the input you share on here Goose. Like to meet ya sometime and buy ya a beer to pay for just some of the things I've learned from you. God Bless. Mike

So what your saying is a 1999 Venture shock will not work on a 2005 RSTD?
-
Don't know why Pinwall has them different but mine has an air intake (can't remember the actual name) to increase/decrease air pressure. Thanks for checking though
-
RSTD is an air shock too.

How about the same pic of bike or whatever color is decided and in the background have on one half mountains and the other highrises. Basically showing that a Tour Deluxe is set for touring or city driving. Just a thought since Ventures are more of a touring bike and the RSTD is a cross between a cruiser and touring.

Who "Has the Venture Rider International Banner??
Mikealiasmike replied to Condor's topic in Watering Hole
Since there will be several countries represented and their flags flown together, and beings that I'm on our state Color/Honor guard, just thought I'd throw in a bit of info taken from US flag etiquette manual. When flown with flags of States, communities, or societies on separate and adjacent flagpoles that are of the same height and in a straight line, the Flag of the United States is always placed in the position of honor -- to its own right. When a group of flags from States or localities or pennants of societies, the flag should be at the center and at the highest point. The other flags may be smaller but none may be larger. No other flag ever should be placed above the U.S. Flag. The Flag of the United States is always the first flag raised and the last to be lowered when flags are flown from adjacent flagpoles. When hung with the national banner of other countries, each flag must be displayed from a separate pole of the same height. Each flag should be approximately the same size. They should be raised and lowered simultaneously. The flag of one nation may not be displayed above that of another nation. Forgot to add, more then likely the flags will be hung together, so in that case they still are to be hung evenly when not on a pole. This way our friends and neighbors get the respect deserved. I hope this isn't construed as political but I love seeing several countries flags presented and 2 of our closest allies being honored. I can't make Cody this year due to another ride I'm going on but if someone could take a picture with your group and the flags, I would truly appreciate a copy. God Bless. Mike
