Another thing I meant to mention.... Did you put that one special bolt in that holds the entire thing up????     He called today and informed me the total insured amount for materials + labor + shipping came in at 8950.00 with my 500.00 deductable. Once again Pekin insurance came through with a fair offer I'm pleased with. No hassle or arguements. They have been good to me. Check will be here tomm or next day and new parts to rebuild will be ordered. Life continues to be good and all is well in my universe. Ride safe and God Bless.

    Thanks everyone for the concern. This whole thing will pan out fine. Called the insurance company today and their sending out an adjuster tomm. Bad part is we had to take it down the rest of the way because we have another storm possibly rolling in and I dont want the pieces blowing into farmers field and doing damage there. The agent told me if theres a possibility of it happening take it down but get pictures. As you saw it was the first thing I did. Owl, don't know if I'll make it to Britt for hobo days but if theres a chance I'll get in touch with you. Pete, sorry we couldn't get together this year but next year i am going to CO come hell or high water and here in Iowa we know high water. :rotf:take care all and God Bless. Mike

    Can't make it this year, going to Alaska on a cruise with my mom. Before dad passed away he promised mom he'd take her so us kids decided to pay her way. I'm the only one who can "escape" long enough to go so being the loving son I am... leave it alone... I pulled the short straw. Perhaps next year.     Oh yea, I have to, wife says she'll personally build it if I won't (I think she wants her living room started where I've kept the extra stuff/tools etc... for remoldeling our home) already called the insurance company (hell, I called as it was falling down. Pekin insurance co. and they said "when the damage is done and you've accounted for all loses let us know, we'll send out a check" now THAT will be fantastic service if it is all true. We'll wait and see.

    I got my new quonset barn 3/4's up and a 60+ mph wind just ripped it apart 2 hours ago. )*^$%^&*%$# I feel better now. Thank God for insurance.

    My mom and dad had a dream to go on an Alaskan cruise and then dad passed away about 10 years ago. Well, mom never made it so I decided I would take her myself. I'm looking for a package for 2 people. Leave sometime in June-Aug total of 7-9 days. Mom needs a handicapped room beings she don't get around very well anymore. Any information would be appreciated.     Lonestar, I sent out about 2 dozen to Skid already. Will have more in the next few days. If you don't mind so I don't boggle down skid with too much I might just send some your way too.     I picked up a bunch and I mean a BUNCH of NOS auto parts, mostly Chevy from an auctioneer who had them sitting in his warehouse for over 2 years. My problem is some of the starters, alternators and other parts aren't listed in ACDelco's web site anymore. My question is does anybody have a reference book listing the parts to number? Or could check some parts I have with a different means? Hate to let a starter worth 150.00 go for scrap prices because I don't know what it's worth. Any help will be appreciated and I will see if Santa couldn't find something in his bag for ya. Thanks, God Bless. Mike

    Ordering 3 chiming oblong thingamajigs. Love giving these out to friends and great people. Heck, I ordered 3 more from someone else on ebay so I had some to give and not run out like I did in VIP. Best part is giving them to people who would give the shirts off their backs if you needed it and they wouldn't think twice. Don, if you need more $ let me know, I think I covered it ok.     First off I hate to buy anything from china these days. Seems most products just don't hold up but went digging on ebay and I found this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130161077898 Might just be the answer to speakers and some bass with subwoofer.     Illinois small town cops can be ruthless in the Quad Cities area. Thats the area bordering Iowa and Illinois on the river. Other then that I've ridden numerous times in Il and haven't seen anybody getting stopped for anything but being stupid. Mike

    The top ones are the ones I have. Their great. Have had to retighten them a couple times but that don't mean I had them cranked all the way up like I should have. Their well made and shine up nice. Mike

    Sarge, I bought an am currently modifying a spare backrest and luggage rack for my 05 RSTD with this trunk from same company http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=2&menu=DB%20Trunk%20Series&s=prod.php I'm hoping to get it painted to match the Mistress before going to Minn at the end of month. For the bucks it's a pretty good deal. I wanted the extra turn signals on mine.     Tigger, I bought 5 Speedohealers from link Gibvil sent you and passed them onto members here except one for myself. The folks at http://www.sporttour.com/motorcycle_accessory/speedohealer.htm are excellent to deal with.
