Passenger floor board replacement ??
Mikealiasmike replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Finally got pictures for chrome floorboards. Saved a lot of money sending them in as opposed to buying new ones. One thing you'll want to remember is to take the pins out of the boards prior to sending them in. If anybody has any questions feel free to email me mikealiasmike@hotmail.com Have fun and remember chrome is'nt just for pretty it's a safety issue and if your spouse won't let ya have more, they just don't love you... God bless. Mike -

Those are the beast. THANK YOU. Was gonna place order for it at 1.09 but once I found out they want 14.00 shipping for a spring thats 3/4 inch I think I'll find someone who lives close to a stealership and pick it up for me on their way home and send to me for .69 cents. Thanks again.

Had battery covers and floorboards chromed. They turned out nice. Do have one BIG problem though. When I sent in the boards, I didn't realize where the pivot ball attaches that on the board itself there is a spring inside. On one board it stayed in, on the other it's gone. I have no idea where to find another or what the part number would be. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'll show installed pics once I can get the springs. God Bless. Mike P.S. The pictures with the holes shows the space where the pin goes and the space where the spring is supposed to go.

They sell bunches of nick knacks and mementos. Just a great place to visit. *Note* I'm unsure if they serve liquor or not but their homemade apple dumplings with ice cream are the best in the world.

Passenger floor board replacement ??
Mikealiasmike replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I removed the rubber. Pops right out easily. I didn't send in the hinges with it though. Forgot to mention that in any threads. When you take the floorboards off, a pin runs through hinge and boards with a C clip holding it in place. Don't lose the clip... their a **** to find, lol -
Keep it up Don, I cheated 1 day with 1 smoke 2 puffs and out it went. Quit the 15th Jan. Good luck, know what your going through. God Bless. Mike

Passenger floor board replacement ??
Mikealiasmike replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
2nd Gen floor boards and battery covers sent into www.chromeplating.com on 18th of Feb. They arrived there on the 24th. When I spoke with them, they told me their business increases by about 400% this time of year so it would take a bit longer. I understood this well since most of us don't want to be w/o our scoots any later in the year so everybody's in rush mode. Update: Was just notified they were completed today on 2/25/09. So as it stands: 2-Passenger running boards chromed 35.00 each = 70.00 2-Battery covers chromed 45.00 each = 90.00 160.00 sub-total 16.00 shipping 176.00 total Now keep in mind these prices are more then what most of you will pay due to the fact I'm playing the guinea pig and seeing what kind of job they do. When others send in more the cost drops considerably depending on the #'s. As I stated in a previous message , prices are as quoted by company. 1 set at a time: $35.00 ea piece x 2 = $70 F. Boards 10 -20 sets: $30 each x2 F. Boards 21-100 sets: $25.00 each x2 F. Boards I'll be getting the prices for battery covers in quantity next time I speak with them. As for sending F. Boards in, what he said could be done is if our members wants them done, on the packaging were to note it's for Ventureriders. I would think if we got together messaging and set a deadline for having them in (say over a month's time) then we could maximize the savings. He also stated once we have a date set for all to be in, he would put a rush on them since their all the same thing pretty much. So in retrospect on savings, I think even though my cost were higher, my savings is still in the 120-150 $ range from buying new. Might not have the pretty name on it but if I'm seeing names, I'm not riding. Soon as I get them and installed pictures will follow. Also will give my own personal feelings about job completed. Can't wait God Bless. Mike -
I went riding this past Monday, close to 45 degrees was warm enough for me. Just did 40 miles or so. Got to try out several new modifications made over the winter along with new brakes front and rear. When I get the chrome pieces back from California shortly, I'll post some pics and do the posting in RSTD link for improvements. Keep the faith, summers coming... even for us Iowans. God Bless. Mike

Heres a link on Ebay for a trunk bib. I'm going to get the saddlebag bibs as soon as I can afford them. Guy has 100% feedback and looks like he aims to please his customers from the sounds of it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-Trunk-Lid-Bra-Cover_W0QQitemZ320333056899QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item320333056899&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A727|66%3A1|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Russ, the # you gave on here is in Florida 305 area code. Not that I doubt Pete would mind being there instead of hospital right now. Any idea what the actual number we need to dial from the states???? JoDee and I will keep him and his family in our prayers. God Bless. Mike -
Anybody else having a problem with clicking...
Mikealiasmike replied to Mikealiasmike's topic in Watering Hole
This did the trick! I used Puterlube, seems the clicking was caused by pins not aligning correctly with the fragmentational forces that were caused by the downdraft of the common effects of buffeting. Might want to look on eBAY for other additives to keep things in order and check on the PSI accordingly. I know pictures are mandatory but seems my cameras broke.... Problem solved. Thanks for the help. God bless. Mike
