Need a comparison done please
buddy replied to Rocket's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yep same here Rocket, pretty close to my bike as well on voltage. I had trouble with my low beam setting off the light on dash as for burnt bulb but it was still lite but not much, found my board to be the trouble so I resolder all contacts - that fixed the problem. After the fix mine had the same readings as yours so the 83 model may be the only year that does this ? Lets see what members have to say about theirs. buddy -

OK I going to install a 86 OEM Yamaha CB system in my 83 Standard. I installed the AM/FM system last year so that part is done. I bought a CB & Radio package deal at a garage sale last weekend. Came with CB - Antenna splitter - cables - noise filter -AM/FM Cassette radio unit - Amp unit - driver head set JM -driver&passenger CB remotes - radio remote - two speakers . Items missing so far that I know of is CB holding tray CB antenna I did some reading on the forum so that should help me some on hot wiring the CB. I have a few Q?s #1 driver intercom lead cable has a pigtail (3 wire) about midway down the cable what does it plug into? #2 Driver & Passenger CB remotes do they plug into the wiring harness?if so does anybody have a way for me to hook these up for a standard system?Might be better off for me to buy a wiring harness from a 83 royal? #3 5 pin cable from CB to amp system will I be able to hear the CB in my headset or speakers or both? #4 Will I be able to talk on the CB with my head set if so what do I key to make CB work?do not know if I have the complete system or not? Sorry for the Q's and being a pain, but I'm wanting to hook up the CB system for next years Eureka Springs meet. I like to know what I'm getting into before I start tearing the bike apart and know some on how this CB unit works. Thanks for all replys buddy Buddy

I wanted to say THANK YOU so much on the info on the TVs, I just about covered every outlet down here and found one thing Plasma is not to be seen much at all or any at all LCD has the market here. I went with the Vizio 42" VW42LHDTV10A Model PIP-POP. I check just about every TV model available sure can get lost checking out these TVs I came back to Wallie World found that the Vizio had a excellent picture even across the store you can tell which one is the Vizio sure did stand out from the other TVs. Plus all the opions it comes with at a price tag of $948.00 Other models were 1239.00 to 1495.00 in the 42" screen so I cain't complain much I guess but getting info from you guys made it a lot easier as for checking out the spec's on the units THANKS buddy

Frog Man, Hope things go for the better and not worse. I had the same problem but it was a house we were moving into you might say we were repainting and fixing holes in the walls several times our front door was torn off the hinges we were not moved in yet and I had to replace the door twice and patch more holes in the walls So I found out it was my neighbor down the road he was or is a drunk, We moved our trailer house in on the land once we had electric & water we was moved in, wife and kids in trailer with her Mom in the house. One night Peg's Mom called and said someone was messing around the house so I went up to see who it was and found the drunk messing round the house so I went back and got my shot gun and sneak up behind him and when he turned around he was looking down a 16 gauge pump action needless to say his messed his pants. Been five years with no more problems. Hope everything works out fine for you Gerald. buddy

I Love riding the bikes period. I started out with a Yamaha 100 did all sort of things like jumping out of ditches and flying 35-40 feet high in the air and landings were always good but did many crashes down dirt roads and highways at full speed once hit a pot hole and went flying over the handle bars and slide down the road along side the bike was OK until I started riding the bike home the air started hitting the cuts now that hurt. Been in a few crashes and bang ups I don't go crazy anymore on my bike I keep a safe distant plus I act like I'm invisible to other people I keep an eye out for everyone and anything around me am I scared NO I say my Prayers every time I mount the bike and don't worry about it no more its in the good Lords hands I go and have fun and be safe . When its your time to go its your time to go period no matter what your doing . From washing dishes - watching TV - sleeping or driving a car. Some say that we joke to much even when we loose someone close to us . Do we miss them Yes very much am I going to let it get to me and make me stay in a shell or hide in a hole for the rest of my life NO . Sorry but I Love riding bikes and I will always Love riding bikes I love the wind - rain - sunshine most of all being with my family here! Sorry I will shut up now. buddy

Sorry Frog Man, Sounds like he won the auction and then tried to borrow the money to finish the deal and it fell out on him. If you offered to take the bike to him in person and he's still a no show. Then he has no more money to give you and he is trying to find more money someway or another. You gave him more chances than I would cut the rope and tell him he has less than 48hrs to finish the deal or he looses the $500.00 deposit and you re-list the bike. Sorry if I sound mean but this is no game this is real life and you do not have much time left either since winter is around the corner. Re-list the bike and stat that full payment is due within certain time frame or you loose the deposit and Negative feedback will be left! NO Exceptions Gerald if I had the money I would give you what you wanted for the V-Max but money is tight here. buddy

Valve covers, The rear is the easy one to do it comes out the left side of the bike fairly easy but the front one is more pain I found the best way to remove the front valve cover is to remove the air filter housing and remove the YICA vacuum booster this will allow you to remove the plastic heat shield covering the valve cover plus give you more room to work with the valve cover goes out the right side of engine just turn here turn there angle here angle there you will soon get it out. I also used form-a-gasket to the valve covers to help hold in the new gaskets and I let the valve covers to set on a flat surface for awhile to allow the gasket to set up good in the valve covers so going back with them is less of a pain that way the gasket won't be falling out on you as for the heat shields I left mine out easier later on when doing the plugs never had any problems with that part but others like to fight with them while your in there might as well move you TCI unit from under the battery box and place it on top of your air filter lid easier later on if need be to service it. good luck let us know how things go buddy
