    If by chance the side cover you repaired is the left one. Then I would check the pigtail for the pickup coils. The way you describe it is a bad connection in the pigtail. buddy

    Thats funny, I had a Honda Shadow when I saw this great site,So what did I do ? sell the Honda and buy a Venture never looked back. Thanks Freebird. buddy

    Same here, I cut it open and cut everything inside removed everything including the fiberglass fiber and welded back up no back flow restriction plus gives the exhaust a deeper tone as well very pleased Thats been over a year plus 2,000+ miles too. buddy

    One thing to look at is the pigtail connection for pick-up coils. Bad connection will cause one or two cylinders to misfire. The pigtail is on the left side of the frame by the seat. while your at it check all your connections and use electrical grease to help keep moisture out. buddy

    MINE ONLY HAS 73,21? MILES. but Wildhair39 has well over 146,000 miles on his First Gen. When we were in Eureka Springs I looked at his bike and it was 146,000+ since then there's no telling how much he has now.

    Thanks for the prayers. We were lucky we only got the outer edge of the storm but still alot of ice. Its pretty much gone now with the warm temps here but futher north was hit the hardest. Talked to my Mom in Mustang Okla. she said my brother and sister was without power and may be out for the next few days They live around Norman & Mustang. The trees were cracking and poping luckly we never lost power. Hope the photo turns out OK - photo is of trees in our pasture covered with ice buddy

    My Great Uncle Clint was in Pearl Harbor when they attacked, He was blinded when the Power room on the ship got struck. He said it was so bright that it blinded him, and he still remembers every detail of that day. He never regained his eye sight. So to him His wife - Aunt Falbie would always be the young girl he married before the war. Times she would joke he was married to a younger woman. Uncle Clint passed away 4yrs ago sure do miss him and yes we are losing our Hero's too fast. GOD Bless our Hero's If not for these Men & Women we would not be enjoying our life style today.     Would like to know if anybody has changed out their 1157 bulbs over to led 1157 ? Reason I'm asking is I changed out my two brake light bulbs over to Led which put out a lot more light and less draw on battery but in turn it sets off the light indicator on the dash stating I have a bad bulb. So has any body came across a Led bulb that does not set off the indicator light? I already changed my trailer over to led so now I would like to do the same for the bike. buddy

    I do believe Momma & mini have used up all the minutes this month in the chat room. I myself would have been on more if not for my land line acting up, but then again the last time I was on Momma and everyone else was talking about guns & knives .     My 83 has the rear bumper assembly as well plus a Marland hitch too, perfect fit so yes you can install a hitch on your bumper plus keep your mud flap as well as long as its a Markland hitch or a home made hitch. Ebay has a Markland hitch for the 83 - 85 venture listed number # 120190094347 perfect fit for the rear bumper set up. Buddy
