Thanks Jay, For bring this up! I been thinking of using a rack this year instead of the trailer for Eureka Springs. But I did not know if I wanted to build one or be lazy and buy one? But with me working two jobs, sounds like I'll be better off buying one. Thanks everybody for the info. on this . Now I can shop around some more. Buddy

Some of Texas FM roads are better than Okla. main roads. One reason why I like riding in Tx. other reason is you have so many roads there you never get tired checking them out...... Buddy

www.chromeworld.com Has the J&M head set #HS8154 FF $59.95ea . We use these in our full face helmets and work fine on our 08 Gold Wing & 83 Venture. Found wind noise was a small problem but did a simple fit. use a small balloon or thumb out of a rubber glove and place over the mic unit and it removed the wind noise and still had good sound for speaking. To each his own... Everybody has his or her opinion on motorcycles which is fine. But for me and my wife the Gold Wing fits us better. So if this bothers some of the family here so be it. But I'm not sorry for what I ride. I really do like the Venture's very much. I still have my First Gen. But the Second Gen. is to top heavy for me.. So lets not make a big deal over this please. Some of us just have to ride something else due to our health or for our love ones health. The Gold Wing is better balance for my knees and better seating for my wifes back . I know we pick on each other for what we ride but at times we can get carried away with it so lets not get out of hand with this OK. Buddy

The Gold Wing and the First Gen. have the same set up so I'm used to the pegs being there. Your used to the forward set up on the Second Gen. & 1300. It will come back to you, Should be pretty close to the same set up as your other race bikes you have, they have no forward set up.? Besides if they ever come out with the Third Gen. Red neck would park his Second Gen. in a heart beat just to get a better ride:stirthepot:

Tell Becky to get some rest and we will be Praying for Bob not to be so hard headed next time:whistling:. Also let him know we are here if they need us. And we Love him much much. Ron & Peggy

OK I know its not about a motorcycle. But I would like to see if any body here would know the average MPG on a Camaro with a LT1 motor.? car has 91,000mi uses no oil and no leaks. A good friend of mine just bought himself a 880 - 830? Harley motorcycle. I went by his house today to replace a belt on his police car. I was teasing him that I should be a police officer due to him having a 2007 Chevy pickup - New Harley and the Z28.He said he was selling his Z28 Super Sport and wanted to know if I wanted it? This Camaro looks in excellent shape and he always kept it show room clean. Anyway I wanted to get another car to drive to work when the weather was bad. And my Farm truck F-150 4X4 gets about 10 -14 mpg plus it has over 217,000mi. He said I could have it for $5,500 dollars, guess this is a good price?. I asked him what mpg he got on the Z28 and he said I don't know I just drive it. he does not worry about gas mileage. I'm not worried about the motor or drive train due to him being a A.S.E mechanic too. Anyway I was wanting to know a ball park average on a 1997 Z28?. Being a sport car I'm not expecting it to get 30+mpg, but I would be happy if it gets 20-22mpg? I do have a 1981 Camaro setting in my back yard which does not look like much but with a 6.6L olds rocket bored 60*over I be lucky to get 10 MPG so it has not been drivin in some time. I'm going by there tomorrow and give it a test drive and see how it performs and if my body will let me enjoy the ride of a sports car again? Buddy

Sorry to hear the trouble you are having with your Venture. there are times you get one that is not up to spec's or just a plain lemon, but don't blame the whole Venture line. I been down that road before I bought a 1984 chevy 4X4 off the show room floor and it was a lemon from the get go spent more time in the shop than my driveway finally had to do a lemon law on the truck to get it replaced and my replacment went well over 200,000mi. We hope everything works out for you and don't give up hope either. Things will work out for the better and you will be on the road in no time. Keep us up to date and let us know what they decide to do on your Venture. Buddy -
Well Rustyrecycledtoy guess its up to you now to led us on the Saturday run in Eureka Springs since Bigin might not make it. Hope you get your VR going soon as you still have it listed as dead.... If not we won't mind you leading the pack with your HD...... Bigin hope everything works in your favor and that we get to see you again soon... Buddy

Yep and I bet you rode it like you stole too? right. By the looks of your smile you had a blast on the open road or you went so fast on the Wing that your face has not sprung back yet:whistling: Better not let Linda found out your driving her Rolls Royce that fast:no-no-no: . Really happy for you Bill. Glad you was able to get back on a Touring machine again, Hope to see You & Linda riding it in Eureka Springs. Until then ride safe my Friend, Also Tell Linda we said HI. Don't worry I wont tell her you broke the Wing in doing 140! Oh by the way these 08 Wings have no trouble doing 130 with two up, I wont be doing that again any time soon. Getting to old to be stupid, Plus Peg is so light I was afraid she would fly off the Wing:whistling:. Buddy

Dang it Bigin dint want to hear this at all. We were looking forward to seeing you & riding with you this Sept. in Eureka Springs again. Wish there was a way for you to keep your bike. Who ever buys your Venture is getting one heck of a bike and runs the curves like nothing. Let us know where your moving too and stay in touch you know your stuck with us no matter where you move to!!!!! Now who is going to be riding with ED(rustyrecycledtoy) if you move away? It saddens me to hear one of our family members selling off their Venture, but there are times that we have to make hard choices to get by. Stay in touch Bigin and let us know where you will be... buddy

Glad your getting to know your new ride! I never had any trouble with my pegs catching my pants leg guess its because I'm so used to the floor boards on the Beast that I put my feet further away from the pegs when stopping. First thing I did was buy (Kuryakyn Ergo Cruise Pegs #K4050) from Chrome World that mount to the engine guard. I can stretch my legs out and cruise the hwy with no problems at all... Peg & I just came back from a 150mi ride today and she almost went to sleep on me. but she denies it. Buddy

You will have plenty of time to get used to all your buttons Bill before Eureka Springs. One thing I like a lot is the Temp *F gauge letting you know how hot the ride is. I will be adding the CB on the Wing in about a month or so. Will do it myself and save a couple of one hundred dollar bills. Did you try your Stereo system yet? I'm already scraping my foot pegs in the curves, so it does not take long to get used the Handling of the Wing. Buddy
