RSV Seat Questions or Maybe Pants?
buddy replied to ebat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
These shorts stretch or compression like you said. They stick to you like a second skin, they kept me cool and allow my jeans to move freely. Buddy- 27 replies

RSV Seat Questions or Maybe Pants?
buddy replied to ebat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Athletic Works sport shorts 81% Polyester 19% Elastane . These sport shorts worked great for me today on my ride to Spring Field Mo. I wore them under my blue jeans and not once did I feel uncomfortable. My problem in the past was my jeans griping my legs & back side after riding for several hours and felt like my skin was being riped off. After wearing these sport shorts my jean never once put me in a bind nor did I sweat These really did help in keeping the jeans from binding and gripping my body plus they kept me cool as well very nice in deed. I bought these at wally world for around 9.00 I think ? any way I'm buying more before our trip next mo. For me they work great and a excellent fit as well. OH by the way do not stand in front or over a A/C vent wearing only the shorts ?why? the shorts turn into a deep freezer. COLD:cold: if you know what I mean. Buddy- 27 replies

Front wheel bearing removal ?
buddy replied to 6m459's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sorry about your wheel being damaged, And as for your bearings trash them as well. By the time you get them out they will be damaged, even if there is no physical damage on the outer part of bearing. The inner part (Bearing race) would be damaged and I would not chance it. Better off buying some from a bearing outlet or auto parts store far less than the motorcycle dealer. $3.99 - $6.99 bearing is cheaper than a broken leg or busted head due to the bearing coming apart at highway speeds. Sorry Buddy -
Yamaha has hydraulic timing chain tensioners like the Ford Crown Vic. When we change the oil in the Crown Vic (POLICE)they make a ticking noise until the oil reaches the tensioners then the noise goes away. The tensioners have a safety lock so if you loose oil pressure or run low on oil the tensioners will not allow the timing chain to fly off, but will allow it some slack and make the ticking sound.... So the ticking sound on the Yamaha maybe the tensioners waiting for oil. So using thicker oil will allow the ticking sound to stay longer untill the tensioners are pumped up. Also on the Crown Vic if the oil feed hole for the tensioners gets dirty or plugged it will cause the ticking sound, easy fix on the Crown Vic is to remove the valve covers and remove the end cap on the cam and clean out the oil feed hole, reinstall the parts and the noise is gone... Amsoil oil - Gold Wing 3,856mi 10w40, Venture 79,928mi 20w50 no problems at all, change oil every 8,000mi. Venture had Castrol 20w50 which was OK for 3,000mi changes, went back to Amsoil 20w50, gears shift better now and I can go twice as long on oil change... 8,000mi Mobil 1 5w30 - Peg's 2003 Monte Carlo 65,254mi no problems. oil change every 10,000mi uses no oil. Valvoline 10w40 - 1994 Ford F150 4X4 221,389mi every 3,000mi uses no oil. As long you do your maintenance on your car - truck - motorcycle you will be just fine on any brand of oil or syn. oil MAINTENANCE.........is the key........... You will get different reply as for what type of oil to use. But if you do no maintenance on your motorcycle , So No matter what oil you use your going to have trouble down the road sooner or later....... OK I talked to much I'm going to bed 5:30am is coming soon...... Buddy

In my part of the woods Everybody pretty much waves at each other. I get about the same amount of waves when I ride the Venture or the Wing. I do at times see some that do not wave back but I don't let it bother me at all, And when I'm stop at a red light along side another bike I compliment them on their ride sure do get a lot of smiles from that too. I also talk to other riders at pit stops and gas stations on my ride - I get that from Wildhair39. To me it does not matter what ride you have!! I like all motorcycles no mater what brand you ride, Just be safe and have fun...... Buddy

Bill, By the looks of things, this is going to be one heck of a turn out for the 2009 International Hub Rally . Already set Hub record for booking, The Hub owners are ready - the committee is getting things done ahead of schedule even tho we still have another year to go. I can see why Freebird chosen you to be the leader and in turn you chosen us again to led the charge. Heck we're doing two at the same time:pushups: Eureka Springs 2008 & International Rally 2009. If some of you cannot wait for the 2009 International Rally to get here come on over to the Eureka Springs meet Sept. 10-14 2008 and see how much fun we're going to have. Thank You Three amigos for checking out the Hub for us and letting us know how things are shaping up. Buddy

I been working on Police cars for some time now. And I get a kick when I'm out test driving one. People see me and they hit their brakes and the front end dips down bad like that will save their bacon. Nope only makes it worse with these police officers around here, most of the time they will not give a ticket 10 over . But seeing a car or truck dip in the front end tells the police yep I'm speeding and I'm guilty. So fair warning don't hit your brakes when you see the police just keep going and if he wants to give you a ticket he will let you know.. Radars are useless around here anyway, the police do not engage the unit untill you are in their line of site..then its too late My motorcycle came with a radar problem solver anyway never got a ticket yet when using it... they call it a cruise control.... Radar's are legal to buy in Oklahoma but illegal to use. Buddy

Rick, I talked to Randal to make sure before I posted it. (No electric for tent site) Buddy
-
Just talked to Randal from the Hub. Yes they are booked up now no rooms left... If your want to tent, he has plenty of room for tents, reservation is not needed for tent space.. Randal said the venturerider.org has set a all time high as for booking. In the history of The Hub They never had their books filled within one week time. Most of the time they still have rooms left over but not with the venturerider.org . So everything is looking good and we already set a record.!! Not bad... Buddy

Been working on this during lunch and breaks and most of the night hours with hardly any sleep trying to make it nice and pretty for everyone. bummer Sorry for the wait and the trouble.... Buddy

Sorry to hear this, So far I haven't used Southwest moto. Always worked with American Motorcycle tire www.americanmototire.com have a better price for what I needed and always had my tires within 7days. Like the old saying goes you can go out of your way and treat folks like Gold and they seem to forget it, but make one small boo-boo and they remember that for ever!!!!!!! Hope things turn out for the better. Keep us up to date on how this turns out...... Buddy
