371 miles with no problems. Set cruise at 80mph and listen to the radio, Venture ran perfect as I knew it would. Roadkill did an excellent job on maintenance. And I was getting around 34-36mpg pretty good for the speed I was doing, plus fighting some head wind. At first I was not use to all the leg room and how the boards were set up but after awhile it worked out OK. The Corbin seat did wonders for my back side & legs, no pain at all during the trip. Yes I'm happy with my ride..The guys at work fell in love with the Venture they loved the color plus they could not believe how clean the motor was- Roadkill maintenance. As for Peg She misses the Gold Wing more than me. She Loved the seating on the Gold Wing so much it was like a lazy boy chair to her. 30 miles into the ride on the Venture her back was hurting pretty good. So before we go on our trip in Aug. I need to find pillow top seats & passenger back rest for her, the Corbin seat & back rest is way too hard for her body. So if anyone has a complete set - pillow top seats w/backrest let me know. As for me I love the Corbin seat, I will use it when I'm by myself. Over all it turned out really good for me able to find a good ride with no issues & for Roadkill finally getting a Gold Wing - just wasn't expecting it to be mine. I do miss the Gold Wing but I'm happy too. Roadkill is a real close friend to me & I know he will take care of the Gold Wing. If he cares for it like he did the Venture it will be spoiled rotten that's for sure...... Buddy

This morning ice all over the cars and the steps. Rained last night frozen over this morning. Here I'm heading to Spring Field MO. on Saturday morning? Will have to wait for day light before I could leave here for my trip, which will put me behind schedule,do not like black ice especially on two wheels.... Winter gear again:bawling:. Will be stopping once in awhile to warm up with some hot coffee then hit the road again. Should be there around 3-4pm Saturday if all goes well from here. Ride home Sunday is looking to be in the mid 60's, maybe I can ride home without wearing my winter gear. I will be glad when my winter gear stays in the closet........ Buddy

Thanks Bill, your more than welcome to join us, besides you may have to help Roadkill home with the Wing he's not used to all that power but he will soon Love it for sure. I on the other hand will have to get used to all that chrome. Roadkill sure did alot of work on the Venture. Now he gets to play with his new Wing. You may have to show him how to push all them buttoms too. Buddy

that's funny , Good thing you two are such good friends:buttkick: Buddy -
Well yes the dealing is done RoadKill is getting my Gold Wing And I'm getting his Venture, guess I turning to the Dark side after all (Second Gen.). This has really help me out a lot and Peg will not have to worry about me so much anymore-two full time jobs. I'm loosing my Baby but at least I know it will be spoiled rotten. I told Peg that I need to get another replacement for the Wing for our trips but not a new one. And since I knew Roadkill's Venture was in great shape and well maintained plus $$ too boot I could not pass it up. So it worked out in favor for the both of us. Heatonmt if you come up I'll buy you supper. I know sis won't be coming with you so give her a big hug for me....Beside's I want to see your new ride!!!!! Buddy

Sorry to hear about your ride and sorry to hear about your wifes car. At least the car hit the box springs instead you which would have been worse. but I glad the rest of the day out better... Take care Randy Buddy

I'm not going to mention any names at this point in time . A member contacted me and wants to trade with me. My 83 venture needs a lot of work to be trip ready. And since Peg has such a hard time with her back hurting on the 83 Venture. I would have to find a good replacement with less payments. So this trade would be the answer for us If all goes well with the Credit Union on Monday I will have a well maintained and beautiful motorcycle to fall back on and Peg will not have to worry about me working two full time jobs any more . We known this member for some time now, So I'm not worried about the motorcycle one bit! This saves me time looking for a used motorcycle & worry if the motorcycle is any good... Wish me luck Buddy

:crackup:Bill your asking for it... If everything was working in my favor I would have my Wing up there with yours two..... Buddy

Do to recent events, I'm having to sell my baby:crying: I'm Fighting Pneumonia again, My Dad had another Heart attack the other day . We had Hail damage couple weeks ago did over 15,000 in damage to both houses and Peg Monte Carlo. So Peg said I need to quit Walmart and spend more time with my family and stay with one job due to my health having not been the best in the world guess only getting 3hrs asleep at night maybe a factor too. Plus my doctor told me to slow down!! So if I do I will have to sell my baby. Peg is all torn up for having to sell the Wing but she rather have me around for some time to come. So I have put my baby on E-Bay #300298498634 for sale if you know someone looking for a good Gold Wing. Everybody that knows me & my Wing Knows I spoil it rotten. The guys were picking on Snarly Bill & me when we were cleaning our Gold Wings (twins)after a ride in a rain storm in Eureka Springs last Sept 2008. Since I'll be quiting Walmart I will have more time to ride to M&E - Maintenance day and other get together on my 83 Venture. Buddy

Night riding on the interstates -- what's the big deal?
buddy replied to Dave77459's topic in Watering Hole
I only live 17mi from work. usally its dark in the mornings going to work - city 6am, off work at Wal-Mart it is 11pm - two jobs, so I have no problems riding at night it really helps me to relax. But the guys at work are week end worriors that stay indoors after dark Plus they donot ride their bikes unless its above 70 degrees. Buddy -
Nice looking Venture if not so far away I might bid on it. And low miles too 48,990? or could be 148,990 someone here might check it out. Buddy

Yes I would change the bearing. you can go to a Yamaha dealer, or do I like did buy your bearing from. www.flatoutmotorcycle.com Make sure you have a replacement bearing first before you remove the old bearing, once you start removing it. The bearing will fall apart and be worthless I had to cut mine out it was in there good. Changed mine out at 68,000mi now I just turned 80,000 on the 83 Venture Buddy -
Oh so Momma let you in the piggy bank again, You must of been a good boy Bill. Glad to hear it Bill you deserve it . Oh give your better half a big hug for me:bighug: Sure do miss you guys hope to see you both real soon . Buddy

Sure is a pretty set up . Just might get a bit on here with that set up and low miles. Sorry to hear your selling your Venture. Pictures are kinda small to really get a good look at the trike set up,but from what I can tell its looks like a keeper. Will it make a 2,000 mi trip or any minor problems. Buddy
