Jack Which ride are you taking? Wish I could join you but I have to stay behind and work. Some day we can get together and get some riding time in, maybe next International Meet?. Until then ride like the wind.....
-
Peg & I will be there as well....

Peg said the The Inn is down below the restaurant area. We never stayed their but the rooms are limited meaning theres not that many, if you ever ate at the restaurant you know what I mean its not that big either but the food is awesome. If your planning a group stay the Hub is your best choice, The Cliff house Inn is real small,it be nice for a couple but not as a group stay.

Talk about taking someone Else name? when Peg took my last name I did not know it meant taking my money, car, truck, motorcycle, clothes, dog, cat, horse and of all things my Parents .....

I have Ride-On in my Venture tires and works real good, no balance problems. And Dyna beads in the Wing with no problems either. And No Ride-On & Dyna Beads do not mix well:doh:.... Either way you go, you'll have balanced tires
-
My 03 only has 55,000+miles its not even close, Wish I dint have to let it go... Sure do Love the ride too....
-
Dyna Beads is the way to go. no problems on my tire and have well over 5,000mi on my Kumho run flat car tire. never did give me any worries or problems:happy34: And you can reuse them when changing tires again, so you save money later on as well..... http://www.innovativebalancing.com/gallery1.htm I bought the standard 3OZ bag for the rear tire, when I go with another tire for the front I'll buy Dyna beads for it.

Its really your call on this? I use Mobil 1 10w40 Syn. on both bikes, change oil every 6,000mi or when ever i feel like it, if I go over a little no biggie. no problems so far If it were me I would change it when I came back from the trip . Amsoil - Mobil 1 Syn. oils last longer than Dino oil. does not protect any better just last longer.....

Road King Point Of No Return
buddy replied to ManWithAVision's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I have a set on my Venture and they sound awesome indeed. Roadkill had Squid do his magic when he had it. not bad at idle little rumble but not much, above idle not bad either but open up the Venture and its a sounds like a wild beast. A guy I work with, Loves the Road kings so much he wants to buy the venture from me. I'm just wanting on his better half to say YES..- 15 replies

Street Dept. trucks we change them every 6 mo. some take 5 gallon others 10 gallons of oil per truck. 15W40 oil Fire Dept. oil filter change twice a year top off with oil. change oil once a year. any where from 5 gallons to 15 gallons of oil. 15W40 oil Police Dept. every 3,000mi 7 1/2 Qts 5W20 oil & 5W30 oil most of the other city cars or trucks take 5Qts of oil every 5,000mi 5W20 & 5W30 oil We lost few motors in the past due to "OPERATOR ERROR" Not once did we ever loose a motor due to oil failure. "NEVER" And they are still going strong. Some of the police cars have well over 170,000 miles, run 24/7 days a week. And who ever has the lowest bid on oil $ale wins the bid to sell us the oil. so we never stay with one brand of oil.... its all about maintenance....... makes my job so much easier:thumbsup2: too.

Charlie you mean "Fall" as in weather, or your "Fall" as off the bike?.

Every one talking about wanting changes done to the RSV. When we test riding the 2009 Harley Ultra touring, we were going over the bike as for gadgets and what knots, one thing the sale guy said was the saddle bags & trunk on the ultra have been the same since 1968. WOW not much done to the body work since 1968. After all that time you figured the Harley fans would want something different:think:
-
We test rode a 2009 hot red Ultra Classic today man it was nice very nice only thing I dislike was the vibration at idle, man the handle bars shock bad felt like they were going to come out of my hands but on the open road it was smooth as glass. it was so much smoother than the RSV on the open road, but it was not as roomy as the RSV. seemed a lot smaller than the RSV. But I would not mind having one if I could get used to the engine vibration at idle.

Bill is it Stag beer? Roadkill might be reading this:whistling: Tell Lowell ride safe, and don't pick up too many waitress's on the way either:whistling:

I saw that as well, but figured it might be the camera angle. Chuck if your swing arm is bad, I have an extra one layed up some where, If I find it you can have it for the shipping cost to you.

Carl was right, I edit my post earlier should have left it alone. make sure you remove the washers you added to the caliper or you will still have problems. You might have stuck caliper, remember its a floating caliper as well. it will adjust it self to fit the rotor. So if the rotor is rubbing the caliper assembly the caliper will off set itself as well.
-
Should be a washer on the right side of the axle between the collar and wheel Assembly. if the washer is missing on the axle this will cause the same affects.....

Dano I like to be at the finish line as well. :cool17:Dont know why since we all know the Boss is going to win the race:cool17:

Jay I known you too long to thing otherwise. And we dint get much time to really get the feel of the bikes that evening at the motel due to change overs on the bikes plus rain moving in. I bet the coil went out when we left the motel the next morning on our way home, thats the only thing I can think of I think we really did good on the trade. Thanks Jay:thumbsup2: I knew how well you maintain your bike, thats one of the reasons why I made the trade with you, I knew I was getting a good bike !!! When Lowell - Wildhair39 came down to visit, he said I did good on the trade - Meaning you stayed on top of the maintenance on this Venture. I agree with him 100%.. Thanks Jay:happy34:

The way I did it was remove both side covers and center cover under the seat as well, then remove the coolant over flow bottle this give me the room I needed to get to the Allen bolts . Used a Allen wrench and worked my hand in there and turn little at a time , same for top and bottom turn a little at a time, The under side I removed nothing there just enough room to make you say some funny words but it went back faster.

I had the 83 model Beast, faster than the one you have, it had the V-Max transmission and V-Max final drive unit. And yes I wish I kept it now.. The Second Gen. is pretty dang fast if not for the Rev.limter kicking in......
