OK Tracy now your making me Hungry.. Still have any Deer meat left in the freezer? I'll come by and get some.
-
Just hear say, But I been told by a couple of parts houses its regular 10W40 motor oil with a motorcycle label stuck on it and you pay extra for the stuff go figure. Guys I know who use it never had any problems. One of them use what ever walmart has on sell does not matter what brand it is he puts it in his Yamaha 1100 bike with over 110,000+ miles with no problems.
-
I was raised on that stuff.. MM MM And I had some last week too. Hot cornbread in cold milk OH YES. And butter oh baby just give me the butter and cornbread and I am just fine:)... Or beans and cornbread with butter and pepper juice.

GOLD WING All kidding a side:whistling: New Corbin seat W/back rest, V7Goose modification to the gas tank neck - allows you a FULL tank of gas! . other than that the Venture was pretty well modified when I took owner ship and I love it too
-
Eck your Gold Wing radio should out perform the Venture? I put both mine side by side and my 01 Wing blows the 03 Venture out of the water the music is better on the Wing? Both are totally different that's for sure but I love them both.

Your going to Love the long rides thats for sure, Peg really loves the Gold Wing she says it like sitting in a lazy boy. I Love the handling and the power is out of this world low end top end its there when ever you needed it. Only thing I have problem with on the Wing is leg room, so I have to use hi way pegs or my knees would swell up big time, other than That I love the Wing. Oh and the air filter you can install a K&N air filter and not worry about it for another 50,000 miles!! I have the RSV Roadkill had and I love it too!!!!! Thanks Roadkill. Best of both worlds. Oh they still let me on here too. Don't know why..

Don wish I could make it but I have to sit this one out. My left knee is still swollen like a grape fruit from the ST. Jude run and being that far down there for me, I dint see it happening anytime soon. Sorry maybe next year if you have another run or something I'll have more time from work and my Knees wont be so bad? Taking a pill and try to get some sleep. later Don Take care, hope to see you soon:).....

What is the farthest distance you have ridden in one day?
buddy replied to Yama Mama's topic in Watering Hole
742 Miles round trip one day solo, spent time visiting & eating with the International Committee in Springfield Mo. on my Gold Wing. Then hauled butt home. that was a long and busy day. Close to 650 miles from St. Charles Meat to home in one day, Peg was with me on that day. She said never again, yeah right. We did close to 500mi? yesterday with Colesgrandpa (Ray & Joan) round trip from their house to S.T. Jude's run both girls did real good yesterday. -
Peg & I will be Winging it ?? to Colesgrandpa tomorrow. Hope we wont get much rain we'll see tomorrow morning before we leave if we ride the Wing or if we cage it. And see how things look Saturday morning at Ray & Joan house (Rain) if we ride or cage it? Either way we will see everyone Saturday morning. Everyone ride or drive safe .

Well my Venture & Wing take the same oil filter , So I switch over to Rotella-T 15w40 for both bikes. same filter & oil so there is no problems in keeping up which one has what. Both are doing great on the oil so why worry...

Don I up date mine just like you said, but I get another one the following day Stating its going to end in 6 days and if i want to renew it? I did this a few times after that I just delete it, until it is closer to the end date.

I can just see something like this on our vest. http://templars.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/crests.jpg

To me it looks like the 2010 Stratoliner Deluxe is a copy cat of the HD Glide and if you add the trunk , it would be close copy cat to the Ultra Glide . After all these years you figured Yamaha would come up with their own version instead of chasing after HD. Makes me wonder now if and when the New 3 Gen. Venture comes out what would it look like since they seem to copy cat other models? Gold Wing - HD Ultra - Victory?

Most auto parts stores carry the plug patch. easy to install as well. As for the "Z" rated patch, well I don't think I'll be going over 130mph on my Venture any time soon so a regular car tire plug patch will do just fine. As long as its installed the right way the patch will out last the tire...

If I'm out far from home I have a small electric motorcycle air pump and tire plugs. so if by chance something went flat I would have a back up plan to get me some where down the road, as for me i always patched my tires, I worked with tires for over 25yrs and never had a problem with mine, but some folks hate the idea of a patch due to the bike only having two tires. The only time i replace a good tire is if the hole is near or on the side wall area then I trash it, or if the hole is so big it separated the cords then i trash it again. But for a simple tire patch I have no worries but each to his own. On my RSV I have "Ride-On" installed in both tires just in case I do get a leak it will help slow it down or seal it off all together, If the leak turns out to be in the sidewall then your tire is toast.... Everyone has their own opinion and I'm not against it either but when comes to patches It does not bother me one bit.

last resort check # 3 Coil. I replaced mine not long ago and it runs great:happy34:. seems like #3 coil on some of the Second Gen. are going bad over a period of time.
-
maybe Peggy used up all of her minutes and she has to wait until midnight. or maybe she over loaded Don's computer system again? Thats all we need is another crash:stirthepot:

I owned both and i have to say the Second gen. fits me better. I Loved the 83 for the handling and speed and the looks as well, but it tore my knees up being not able to stretch out. i sold My 83 wish i kept it now but for long trips the second gen. wins hands down. I can stretch out my legs and move my feet around if need be, Roadkill changed out the shifter back to a single arm shifter before I got it and it allows me to move my feet around if need be. Plus the Corbin seat I have really does wonders for my legs - butt & back,When I stretch out my legs the Corbin seat helps by making all the areas go equal so there is no sore spots any where. But the Corbin seat and the ride the second gen puts out, tears up Pegs back so i have to ride the Wing when we go two up. The Wing does not hurt her back, I Love the Wing but at times it hurts my knee not able to stretch all the way out so i have to move around some to relieve the pain, the Wing gives a smoother ride and better balance which helps my knee problem and most of all more power band low or high its there!!.but ifs it just me riding I'll take the Second gen....because I can stretch out my legs and relax and I LOVE the sound of the Venture when you open it up:happy34: Awesome:cool17:

I test drove the new HD 2010 model and I have to say its pretty nice. I do not like the idling part at red lights feels light the handle bars are going to jump out of hands but on the open road it has a smoother ride than the Venture but no where close to my Wing. HD 2010 model has less room and smaller seat than the Venture. 2010 has good low end torque but as good as the venture or the Wing. Over all its a nice bike but I have to stick with my Wing for long trips. I asked the sales man how long can I ride the 2010 model HD before any major work needs to be done and he said oh around 70,000 miles before you have to replace the rings and gaskets. OK I think I'll stay with the Venture & Wing He asked how many miles do I have on my Wing & Venture? I said 55,542 mi on Venture and 82,286 miles on the Wing, he said I already pretty much worn those bikes out? LOL LOL yeah right. I seen Wings well over 250,000+miles and Venture in the 150,000+miles and still going strong. I like the HD touring bikes. I would Like to own one but I wont pay the $$$ that they want . Besides I waiting to see if and when the new Venture come out if I want to buy one or not:think: be funny it come out with the new 1800 motor but have a butt ugly body like the Vision:headache: or better yet the Second Gen. becomes the new out cast and the first gen. be classic antiques. But in all I really don't care what you ride, I love looking at bikes no matter what brand it is:), every bike is different....And I love to ride!!!!!

Yep it sure is........

Any one mentions a blue Venture Dan starts drooling at the mouth even if its a Second Gen. Dan might as well get you a Second Gen. can't be any worse than what you have now?

By the looks of things Ponch is doing all the work. While Kbay Manning the camera and Gunboat hands the tools:whistling: You said Balancing the tire makes you want to pull your hair out. Well That leaves out Gunboat:rasberry: As for tire balance I use Dyna Beads. I still have my hair. Look like you guys had a lot of Fun wish I could have been there. Maybe next time you guys have a Meet & Eat I might be able to come pester everyone.
