  1. Yes HD makes some nice bikes and we rode an Ultra once and yes it had a smooth ride but that was on the HWY. In town at stop lights, looked Like I was having a fit. the handle bars were shaking so much, Which made my hands and arms hurt. When I was looking for a cruiser ,I checked a lot of them out and a few I really liked, but in the end I came back to the Royal Star Tour Deluxe due to the XVZ1300 motor, With this motor I know after the first 100,000 miles this motor will be ready for another 100,000 miles. They don't call it the bullet proof motor for nothing!! And I get a smooth ride too...... Buddy of mine has the Ultra & Road King and has been through both motors (top end) with less than 80,000 miles. I like HD but I prefer the Yamaha motor! Does not mean I wont own a HD some day,I just prefer the XVZ1300 motor over the HD motor right now. Sorry if this bothers some folks....
  2. I took my old one to Napa and found a match that was a little longer(cut to fit). AutoZone might have one as well.
  3. OK I won't
  4. :thumbsup2: Looking Good Monty..... Really like how you did it too, just never could bring myself to cutting on the Roadkiller, Kept putting it off. LOL I'm glad you like your new ride and wish I never sold it. But letting it set in the garage was not doing me or the bike any good. But You already knew that, by how clean the Venture was when you picked it up. Looking forward to seeing it soon. Nice job Monty nice job:cool17:
  5. Howdy Stranger, I been off awhile myself, Glad see your still around. I see Cindy lets you out once in a while too. Hey Dale guess What I found in our Photo's of International Rally. You on a First Gen. You looked pretty cool riding it around the Hub that day... Later Dude......
  6. Most knew of my knee problems, and passing of my Mother in-law had us in a bind $$$ for a while, And pretty much everyone here knew of Monty buying my 03 Venture the former RoadKiller. Well I sold my Gold Wing two weeks ago so I was without a ride. I could not buy a cruiser untill I sold my Touring bikes. That has changed now, I will have a new ride this coming Friday 12. it will be easier on my knee plus I'll be back in the V4 family again. I been looking at cruisers from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley Davidson, and Yamaha. And I liked most of them, but it was the V4 XVZ1300 motor that I enjoyed the most. So I came back home 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe with only 9,966mi. Could not turn down this deal for only $6,799.00 . The Yamaha Dealer here in Duncan OK had the same yr and color and almost the same mileage for $9,999.00 and would not come down any on their price, so we Will be heading back up to Action Power Sports in Tulsa to pick up the Deluxe on Friday 12. So I hope to be seeing some of you family members down the road this year. Buddy
  7. I carry mine in my jacket pocket or in the trunk, either way it picks it up pretty good and if by chance it dont they have my tag number anyway so I still get the charge to my Pikpass. Ride and don't worry about it. One time I forgot my Pikpass and went to Tulsa and back on the Wing . Nothing happen all charges were charged to my account no harm done. Peg found out hers was dead one time when they asked her in a letter if she was planning on using hers since she been up & down the Turnpike for the past few months. pretty funny. As long as you have your motorcycle on file dont worry about it. Ride and have fun..... Buddy

    Gel Seat Pad

Snowflake highly recommends those pads very much. We had to get her one on the ST. Charles MO. M&E run last year. Our Corbin seat was killing her back, the pad from Wallie World did wonders for her back but the what really added the comfort was a sheep skin cover we got from KrossKrountry with those two together it really made her ride home much better.
  10. Glad everything worked out. Sure was nice getting meet you both. Very Proud of your Son as well!!! Tell him Thank You for serving our Country.... I was hoping I could tell him in person . But he was on a mission Sure was hard seeing the Venture ride off, yet I was glad too because I knew it was getting a good home. If everything works out on our end we'll see you at Freebirds meet. Buddy
  11. I've owned both Ventures 1983 model and 2003 model. Both bikes are totally different. And I have to say both bikes handle great for me, I had no trouble in turns or curves with either bike. other than being top heavy these Ventures handle really good. I recommend both Ventures to anyone. I would have to say the Second Gen. gave us more seating and more leg room
  12. Well I had the First Gen. 83 model fastest one made, really miss it should have kept it. Very fast and great in curves. handle like a sport bike really easy to handle . Second Gen. has more leg room for rider & passenger which is better for long distance runs, kinda top heavy at times when stopping but you get used to it over time. Runs out good and can run the curves just as good as the First Gen. If you want one with sport handling First Gen is it, If you want a Cruiser with long distance runs Second Gen. is it But if you want both sport & long Distance in one bike ....Do like I did. Went with the Gold Wing GL1800 enough said:buttkick:I'm in hot water now.. But Dont worry I'm checking out a 1996 Royal Star this week. Looking for something not so top heavy like the Second Gen. to help with my Knee problem.
  13. We're Happy for you both. Pat your not that old, Don on the other hand:whistling: Keep us up to date. Hope to see some pictures soon..... P.S. Hope to see you both soon...
  14. Welcome back, we been there done that and want no more of it. with out power for over 10 days. Ice took out a lot of trees and power polls around here, using our Generator to power our house, too much money spent on gas. finally have power but their still replacing power line polls at the corner of our farm going to other towns. sure was nasty here for a while. Glad to see you made it back.
  15. Monty, Thats an excellent offer to be doing. The way things are now,Your offer is going to help someone a whole lot . I know your going to enjoy your New Venture. I sure going to miss it but I know it will be getting a good home. Buddy
  16. Don, You should remember this Venture. It was parked along side of yours when we were at the last ST. Charles M&E. Peg said Hi and to behave yourself and do what Pat tells you:whistling:
  17. My Son is having his Graduation from the Marines in San Diego Ca. end of this Month. We will be driving out there To see him Graduate, then bring him home before he ships out. The Marine Base is next door to the San Diego Int'l Airport off of I-5. We would like to know if anyone knows a good Motel or Hotel close by? One that is not in a bad area? We will be there for about 3-4 days. Looking forward to seeing my young Marine. He called tonight for the first time since he's been out there, sure was nice hearing from him. Looking forward to that bear hug. Thanks
  18. I been gone to long! I come back and find we're talking about toilet paper. Sounds a little crappy to me:rasberry:
  19. Funny Thing thats where I bought my Wing, I seen their set up. I was very pleased to see that I was dealing with someone who knew motorcycles!!!! It may be a small shop, but baby they now their stuff and some of the toys they have there for sale are awesome indeed......
  20. Some knew of Peg's Mom's passing and the extra bills that hits us hard, well it hit even harder this time around. I went to the doctor feeling I had the Flu or something but he said I was a walking dead man my blood pressure was out of this world so I was rushed to the E.R. and had a lot of tubes sticking in me. They finally got me back down, they did a lot test and said my heart was in good shape and my blood count seem to be OK?. They did not know why my blood pressure was so high? They was really scared about it? . Peg was not in good shape either just loosing her Mom and now she was worried about me passing. I have to go back next week for a follow up with my Doctor. I went back to work at Wal-mart (second job) to help with the added bills and my Doctor told me that was not a good thing. May have been the cause of me going down? With all this happening and the extra bills added on, I will need to sell my bikes:( to help Pay off bills untill then I'll have to work at Wal-mart untill things get better. ? or worse? So if you know anyone looking for a nice 2003 Venture or 2001 Gold Wing give me a PM . I still have a loan on each. God Bless Buddy

  22. Brad, Peg & I are very happy for you. Its not every day that you get a gift from a friend, especially one like this. Yep that Harley will be with you from now on. Squid Harley We're Truly happy for you:happy34: Now when folks see you ride by their going to say nice looking Fat Boy
  23. As long as there is no ice I ride mine year round. Some folk thing I'm nuts? But I enjoy riding it helps me relieve stress every time. You'll never see my motorcycle in front of a Chiropractic office or in my case a nut house:whistling:.
