  1. Maybe wrong here but I think there were a couple of things going on Don (Freebird ) had some Guardian bells for sale on EBay from the Venturerider.org? and something was going on big time but I can not remember it right now? a lot of folks were tuning in and reading on a certain topic? wish my mind was better....
  2. You have a Mechanic? you mean there's actually someone out there that works on your stuff? WOW how that taste coming out of your mouth "MY" local Mechanic
  3. As for touring bike the RSV 1999-2010 by far is the best ride. I pretty much ridden every touring bike out there and I have to say the Venture by far is the best for leg room and long distance ride. And like the Gold Wing these Venture motors run all day with no worries in the world!! HD riders call the Venture XVZ motor Bullet proof or Old faithful:thumbsup2: As for inspections go I would look for the following - Leaking or blown shock - Clutch whine - mine has it but I'm used to it and don't worry about it!!!!! - Maintenance records??? and most of all >(TEST RIDE) Treat it like you stole it!!!! You will see the Beast come out I Promise:happy34:These motors love to run......You will not hurt these motors......... We just came back from Eureka Springs AR 6hr ride home only time we stopped was for fuel and one rest break (take off jackets)thats it rest of the time was on the road . Two up Venture fully loaded with ice chest getting 38MPG doing 75-80 MPH

  8. Now that is a nice looking ride you have there:cool17: Looks like the one we test rode over in Lawton OK but Peg dint like the shaking at stop lights but on the open rode it was very smooth just like the Wing smooth ride... 10. That's odd? I checked before posting and found his site even made a copy and pasted it here. his site showed his bike and hitch set up and how to pay for it like its been for years I just checked both ways Goggle & Yahoo he is listed on the search but pull his site up and get some other venturedad.com crap?
  11. Wish I could see him pour himself off that bike yet look fine and dandy in front of you two, LOL:rotfl: Bet he will be sore for a few days:crying:
  12. If I'm not mistaken your tire was made in 2007. Reason I bring this up is when I ran several Goodyear stores we had a problem of tires setting on the shelf to long would develop flat spots. they would straighten out over time by being driven down the road but the customer dint want to drive it out which I did not blame them!. there's no telling how long your tire has been setting on the shelf.. I would ask for another tire "NEW" not old stock......
  13. You mean Freebird hasn't done it yet .....
  14. NO need in point out who's who in the photo We all know LA is the better looking
  15. Guess might say mine is a dinosaur Garmin Street pilot 2720 Bought it off E-bay as a refurbished unit has been on my Gold Wing & Venture with over 21,000+miles never once did it ever give me any trouble ! And will be using it again next weekend going to Eureka Springs AR. its not fancy either but it gets me where I want to go ! As for mounting I found that the "Ram mounts" are the best for me and easy to remove the GPS so I can lock it up in the trunk while away from the bike... The Ram mounts came from Cycle Gadgets in Eureka Springs AR. really nice place to see and visit. small but nice set up!! they know us the venturerider.org and know what you need as for mounting a GPS on a Venture. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/ram/ram.asp?prod=RAM-SPIII Give them a call..
  16. Vacuum lock..... My old Yamaha 100 did the exact same thing run like a race bike then shut down wait a minute or so start right back up and run great then shut down.....vent hole in my gas cap was plugged. check your vent tube your line might be pinched or plugged up never had a Fuel filter cause this problem... maybe thats why it was not brought up
