My Daughter gave us our first Grand Child Khloe was born on 5-3-11 12:23pm She weights 7lbs 15oz 21 inches long Doctor said she could be a basket ball player when she grows up due to her big hands & feet all the shoes everyone bought her are to small LOL Yep once I heard her cry when she was born (set of lungs) this old biker guy was crying and when I hold her in my arms and hear her sing herself to sleep once again I start crying Peg & I are so happy and full of JOY

Just as we came in from Church who showed up. Yep Wildhair came driving up in his Toyota Spider Boy it sure was good seeing Lowell again he came down to see his daughter so he drove on over to see us and to drink some coffee Lowell is looking really good and has that ornery grin back we talk for a couple hrs before he left He said he has not been on his cycle for some time but was having fun driving his 2001 convertible spider with the top down and finding out how good the car is in the curves and said its better than the motorcycle Talked for some time on just about everything and about the VR site as well and he stated that he will work it out to where he will be at Don's MD in June He said when he left he might stop by Colesgrandpa to say hi. So when you see a White 2001 Toyota convertible spider with the "Venture" name on the front bumper it will be the wildhair39 in his new ride Buddy

I used the sheepskin & beads in the past. beads work better but I found by using armor shorts work the best! keeps me dry and cooler plus they keep the jeans from sticking to my legs and back side I have the Midnight studded seats as well now I can go all day with out the aches and pains. Peg & I really love the armor shorts:happy34: Bought my armor shorts at Wallie world Buddy

How many miles have you put on since the Stator change out? 2,000 -4,000-6,000mi or more? kinda like counting your chickens before they hatch? Think I would have waited until the riding season was over before making comments like you stated. nothing against you or your son-in-law and I glad your son-in-law is good at his trade. comments were stated what has happen in the past on this install and was not aimed toward you or your son-in-law I been a mechanic for over 25yrs in heavy & light duty equipment and I seen a lot of weird stuff in my day and yes I have seen plenty of melt downs as per say connectors-pigtails-sensors-PCM etc. from the factory and after market set-ups (It can Happen ) "there is no sure thing" anything can or will happen sooner or later I really do hope you have no problems what so ever and look forward to meeting you some day Hope you don't have to eat your words someday due to some here WILL remember what you said!!

Yes you can modify the stock seat and as for the air ride 7lbs in front and 25-35lbs in rear which is what I ran in my 83 venture a course my 83 was a standard dint have electric air ride if you have this set up someone here will guide you on how to adjust it!

Welcome to the family... as for lowering the Venture height, best way was to remove the seat cover and trim the foam down on the seat some and put the cover back on. Buddy

buddy replied to Grisolm1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)

Talk to a guy in Eureka Springs last year while filling up my Midnight with gas and his GL1800 had over 327,000mi only thing he had done was tires & preventive maintenance Buddy

same motor in our fork lifts just below the carb. on the side of the intake you might have a inspection plate with two screws remove this plate and you may see a spring loaded butterfly inside the intake area -this regulates the air & fuel (governor) if so check the butterfly and see if its stuck closed if so this is where your problem is use some WD40 or PB Blaster to free up the butterfly Buddy

fan will spin free with a push from the finger tips. if it wont move with a small amount of effort...then the clutch is junk, and your problem is solved. Also Check your fan clutch like you do a tire see if you have any movement like a loose wheel bearing if you do you fan clutch is going out only movement you should have is the spin. Buddy

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? If you have injectors dirty or plugged the truck would run kinda rough injector flush does help but if you any injector plugged it would not help much which you would have to remove the injector or injectors and flush out the fuel rail and inlet side of the injector as well with out seeing your truck its kinda hard to diagnose the problem wish I lived closer i could flush them out for you myself as for cat'l converter ? are you getting exhaust flow out the tail pipe? you can do a converter test by drilling a small hole in front of the cat'l and behind and use a pressure gauge look at your readings if it is plugged you will know due to the front side will be much (higher) then the back side Also sea foam helps as well put a can in the gas tank also run one can of sea-foam by the way of your vacuum hose from your brake booster at idle unhook the hose from the booster and let it suck the sea-foam into the intake system too much and it will die just take you time once its all in there shut the engine off for about 15 min or so then restart you truck and take it for a drive it will smoke like you burned up the motor LOL what it does is gets rid of any carbon build up in the intake - valves and cat'l converter Buddy
