Last we talked about the rides the Ferry ride was still in the works which does go over into Missouri so yes helmets will be needed Some of the first timers are looking forward to the ferry ride which is a lot of fun to do on a motorcycle I know Colesgrandpaw has some more excellent rides set up for us for Eureka Springs this year!!! So maybe he will let us know how things stand. we're really excited about this years meet.... With Colesgrandpaw being in the lead and me being the tail gunner maybe we wont get to many lost along the way:whistling: LOL.. See you soon and give Linda a big hug for me and Thank You again for setting up the Eureka Springs Meet and as always its been a great turn out! Buddy

Blue Magic polish..... I used never dull - mothers polish - other metal polishes and found that blue Magic works the best for me. co-workers Rob - Rick former truck drivers told me about it and said this is what they used when they were on the road and I tried it on my Diamond plate trailer and it did wonders on that dull trailer.. really nice looking now Rick showed me how well it worked he used an unopened can of soda pop using a very small amount of Blue Magic with a rag rubbed the can and it removed the label leaving behind a highly polish aluminum shine Blue magic can be found at NAPA - Auto Zone

As long as its silicate free your OK... you can use the green antifreeze or the universal antifreeze which is what I use that way I can use the same antifreeze in my bike - pickup - cars.

Here at the Love's store one of the clerk's rides a Royal Star Classic that has over 200,000mi she told me her classic usually gets 4,000mi each month or more and never had an issue just basic maintenance She loves that bike and said she would ride the wheels off of it before she bought another one so it looks like she will be riding it for some time to come Buddy

proper maintenance these motors will last there's a reason why so many HD riders call this motor the BEAST & BULLETPROOF !!!!!!! Only other motor that can stand with the Venture motor as for miles is the Gold Wing...... Buddy

Having owned both the Gold Wings and Ventures I have to say Gold Wing do have some advantages over the Venture but for me comfort is the main thing and for me the Venture beats the Gold Wing........... Better leg room I don't have to remove half of the bike to do the air filter or remove the motor to change out the water pump the Venture motor is easier to work on as for maintenance repairs Don't get me wrong I Love the Wing but we're talking about two totaling different touring bikes with bullet proof motors..................

Talking about the rear shock when I bought Midnight from Mike he had the shock replaced under warranty but it went out on me last year before our trip to AR so I bought a used one before our trip and it did really good well guess what I was changing my rear tire for this trip back to AR today yep oil on the floor looked and the shock went out again crap.. I looked on flea bay found none and if I buy one from works it will take most of our vacation money but it would do me no good anyway because it has to be built and by the time its shipped the trip will be over with.... so it looks like the trailer will be left behind and hope the shock holds up for the trip to AR and back so if anyone has a lead to a used shock to get me by for our June trip give me a pm Buddy

Peg & I was at Bill (Snarley Bill)& Linda's ST. Charles meet few yrs back and Peg's back was killing her she could hardly move without pain So Tracy (KrossKrountry)& Lori gave Peg their sheep skin pad and it helped some so we went over to Wallieworld and bought the auto seat cushion and with it under the sheep skin Peg's back pain was almost gone. Long story short Peg never rides without the two she said it the best ride she can have on a Venture.

Thanks Bill for the update..... Same here sure was nice seeing LA out and about again and yes he has a nice convertible and he says it handles the curves better than our bikes so if he shows up at Eureka Springs we may have a chance to see if hes right or not? Yep its nice seeing LA out on the road again.......... Buddy

Yep First Gen. 1983 to 1993 Second Gen. 1999 to present day And I have to say since owning both models the First Gen is more sportier and faster but other than that the Second Gen. wins hands down for long trips!! more leg room for rider & passenger - more luggage area - smoother ride Once in a while you will see First Gen. pick on Second Gen. owners (all in fun) stating their faster but that's OK let them run faster we'll get there sooner or later and we will be more relaxed and ready for another days ride

Battery is under the false gas tank open fuel door inside you will see one bolt remove this bolt side cover forward to the dash then pick up cover to remove. real easy to work on battery
