  1. Something in the weather alright my ceiling in my garage is covered with flies for the past few days never seen so many flies in one place getting some stuff tomorrow to rid these dang flies went from 106-110F to 78F in a days time big change here plus the coyotes are getting really bad now since the weather has changed up last night until 2 am chasing them off the farm
  2. My 01 Gold Wing & 04 Venture was the same way hot to the touch and that's not even pulling a trailer never worried about it since the rear tire is catching all the heat from the motor-exhaust-asphalt when I changed the oil I also changed the diff. oil not that hard and not much oil either maybe over kill but I felt better knowing it has fresh diff. oil
  3. Valkyrie or Gold Wing same motor sorta the motor is so smooth if I'm not careful I be doing 90mph in no time and not know it until I look at the odometer and it still doesn't feel your going that fast [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGK9techDls&NR=1]Nickel Trick - YouTube[/ame]
  4. You can count two Peg & I will be there and look forward to seeing You and ST. Jude's again sorry we missed last year Run.....

    Too much oil

More likely gaskets and seals and like stated a big mess in the air filter and intake system to much oil in the intake can cause problems as well like fouled plugs and and build up around piston rings gaskets & seals are the ones to worry about to much oil in the case will build up pressure and it will find the weakest point like the crank case vent tube going to the air filter system gasket & seals are next as for blowing out and seeping by
  6. Valkyrie like every motorcycle have few issues from the MFG Wheel Brgs on the Valkyrie from the factory would go bad due to poor quality but from my point of view it all depends on how you ride it I know several riders now that never had that issue because they do not hot rod or race them which will put a lot of strain on the brgs. but changing the brgs on the Valkyrie is not a major job anyway. Wiring issues like the Venture bad connections on pig tails cleaning and adding Electrical grease would rid the problem side stand - frame assembly hitting low spots would cause the frame to bend but after seeing my Valkyrie set up I don't see how this would happen due to it being right behind the transmission unless your going a real sharp turn to the left causing it to drag then I could it happening Timing belts no issue here - but Honda does not recommend looking at them until you reach 100,000 miles WOW I changed mine out due to age (11yrs) mine has 35,000 miles the mfg ones looked really good not bad for 11yr old belts but I feel better knowing they been tended too and these are much easier to change out then the GL1500 Gold Wing changed mine out under 1 hr time. Gates # T275 timing belts buy two for the price of one Honda belt ordered from O'Reilly's about 50.00 for the set.. Vacuum lines over time would crack and cause leaks nothing major easy to get too no Gold Wing plastic to remove known of head gasket leaks but this is due to poor maintenance from the owner not changing the antifreeze when needed like with any motor poor maintenance will hurt the engine.... What I like the most is its so easy to work on compared to the Gold Wings no plastic to remove!!! much easier to work on They ride like the Wings good balance and smooth ride plus Valkyrie has more leg room over the Wing.. Some say the button controls are hard to get used too but I see them much easier to operate over the Venture any day..... my Valkyrie gets 37mpg I can go 200mi before looking for gas but I can go 250mi but I would be on empty by then so I don't go there..... Don't forget the Valkyrie has a lot of power over the Gold Wing bigger cams & six carbs. this baby will burn rubber and will do a wheelie just like the 1983 First Gens Ventures!!!! it will move..... Remember these motors are not broke in until you reach 100,000mi and with routine maintenance they can easily do 500,000mi and then some......
  7. some will say its no good or don't cross the street with a plug. I been riding bikes for 35 yrs and not once have I ever had a plug failure or tire failure on a trip I even patch my tires as well still no problems I go for it:happy34: Buddy

  9. Sounds like mine Rotella 15w40 but used Wix or Super Tech filter mine did it for about min if that long I never worried about it when I switch 04 Midnight over to 5W40 Rotella Syn it helped with the ticking noise if this is your case? I would not worry about it at all ! I work with Police cars - Crown Vic and each and every time I change the oil the engine will tick until the oil reaches the chain Tensioners some of these cars have well over 185,000mi. Buddy
  10. What is it with these back seat drivers? man give me a break...... I might add I have a Peggy as well and she helps watch the roads and she helps with the mirrors as well and at times I really do love her eyes on the road!!!!!!! Whats funny is Yama mama's Hubby & me share the same name as well two Ron's two Peggy's go figure........ That's why I pick on Yama Mama ....... Buddy
  11. Several things I might ask? 14,000? this the total miles on the bike or since you owned it? What weight oil are you using and type of oil filter? some oil filters do not have anti drain back valves which allows oil to drain back into the oil pan mine did that until the oil reach the engine but it dint take 3 min. to do it mine was the timing chain tensioners having some slack until the oil reach them which was a ticking sound as for the valve adjustment? my old 83 venture had 86,000 miles and only one was out of spec's as for my 04 Midnight it had over 53,000mi and all were within spec's acourse I really never rode them hard or wild and crazy. With out looking or hearing the bike its hard to say over the net what you have..... I would look into the weight of oil used and what brand oil filter your using? Buddy
  12. With my Valkyrie I/S that's no problem:stickpoke: as for Dairy Queen I have plenty of time.... All kidding aside:duck: without doing a major over haul Dyna 3000 is the way $$ to go... Buddy
  13. Ray - Joan Sorry for not seeing this sooner Peg & I am sorry for hearing this you & your family are in our Prayers If you or Joan need anything you know you we're here for you!!! Buddy & Peg
  14. Why buy another parts bike? You have enough parts bikes laying around you could build yourself another Venture and call it Venturestein.... might as well no one wants those old antiques Buddy
  15. Tom it will be hard for you to go back to a motorcycle tire. Had the same tire on my Gold Wing and boy did I love it! Excellent traction smoother ride and could get 25-30,000mi too. had no problems over in AR at the International Rally the Kumho took the roads like nothing excellent traction.. once I wear out this Avon tire on my Valkyrie Interstate I'm going back to the Kumho 195/55-16 Ecsta Run Flat!! P.S. Avon tire was on the Valkyire when I bought it - new tire. Buddy
  16. Best of both Worlds....... Peg prefer the Wing seats and ride over the Venture I loved the Wing ride but prefer the Venture design we took it out again today for lunch and needless to say we both love the ride this Valkyrie puts out!! Valkyrie has the Venture design yet it has the Wing ride and handling ! awesome motorcycle I did some reading not knowing if its true or not? I read the man who designed the Valkyrie and pushed the production passed away and the Gold wing was loosing their sales to the Valkyrie so Honda killed the Valkyrie line - biggest mistake from my point of view If Honda kept the Valkyrie line going it be the best selling motorcycle to date..... Just imagine what would happen if the Valkyrie line came back today? Just wish the Venture wasn't so top heavy.. makes me kinda wonder if and when they do come out with a new Venture say with 1800 motor how top heavy will that be? same or maybe worse?? we may never know? Buddy
  17. Well to my dislike I sold Midnight last Month was not to my liking but due to my knees the bike was too top heavy and dropped it several times with Peg on board no damage was done to Midnight or Peg..... Peg and I talked it over one evening and either one of us wanted to sell Midnight but since I was having so much trouble backing out of the garage - parking lots and setting at red lights it got to where I was not comfortable riding Midnight after selling Midnight I bought a 99 V-Star 650 for riding to work light weight and good balance and figured I would save the money left over from the sale and buy another Touring bike in a few yrs that has a better balance? Well my best friend from work told me about a bike he saw at Honda shop the other day and said it was in pretty good shape and had a heck of a deal $ so Peg & I went over to check it out being its a touring bike? Well I looked the bike over not bad shape for a 2000 model but boy was this thing big Wow but when I set on it I could not believe how well balanced it was just like the Gold wing GL1800 Wow nothing like the Midnight - top heavy we took it for a ride and I really liked the smooth ride and power it put out and balance at slow speeds needless to say I ended up buying it with the money left over - no payments a plus too -and rode it home so far I had no trouble getting in - out of the garage - parking lots or red lights I read folks saying it was heavy but to me its nothing after being on the Midnight Don't get me wrong I loved my midnight very much! and I would still have it to this day if not for being so top heavy here is my new ride 2000 model Honda Valkyrie Interstate

Was wanting to know if I could borrow a CarbTune as I am looking at buying a Blue 92 Venture Royal next weekend of July 16 over in Altus Okla. seller said he tried the carb adjustment himself and now the chock does not work which tells me its way out of wrack said he used some kinda of gauges? If So I would gladly take care of shipping plus a little extra $ when I ship back the CarbTune. I would need it for one day so it would be shipped back pretty quick to the owner Give me a PM Buddy
