Fairly new E3's on my Wing and yes they get a bit noise over time yet they hold up really good! never had any issues with them other than being noise as they wear down. Avon tires do it as well..... Buddy

Noticed you said there was a First gen. parts bike! I say Second Gen. is the winner since they don't need a parts bike to stay on the road:stirthepot:

Nice having you back to stir the I tried the coasting but ended up going back to the Tupperware instead I find it cruises better than coasting All kidding aside Glad your retiring so you can spend more time with the family see you soon

First Gens. worst nightmare and they don't even know it yet... Redneck is retired now which means more time on the forum which means more time for him to pick on those First Gen. riders who will wish later he kept on working:doh: need I say more... Glad I ride a Wing

$1,400.00 and still don't run
buddy replied to bdlight4's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Before you tear into your carbs again go to Auto-Zone and get the $25-30.00 temp gun works the same as the high dollar Snap-On ones. start the motor and watch your reading on your exhaust system you will know after a min or so which one is plugged by the low temp on the exhaust. I did this to my Valkyrie when I bought bad gas when I was coming back from a trip found #1-#3 pilot jets were plugged up make sure you do this at idle only not at high rpm as the secondary jets will kick in Let us know hows things go? 68,000 is nothing for the Venture when it is maintained well that's chicken feed for the Venture unlike the Harley where 68,000 is not good due to the fact they need over hauling any where from 80,000-100,000 if your lucky There's only two touring bikes I would ride across country with 100,000 or more and that is the Venture or Gold Wing both have bullet proof motors!!! Remember these V-4 motors love the high RPM!! Harley calls these motors the "Beast" get it out on the open road and open the throttle and let it run you will find these motors love it:) like the Gold Wing this V-4 motor will run all day long at 80mph with no problems!
