  1. Yes to first statement and :rotf:to the second. Brad
  2. After the winter projects get done, Lets see, painting the Living room and bathroom (done), upstairs (started), kitchen, have to go the Sault for a 50th anniversary, finish garage remodling, get the bikes ready, stain fence and deck, then when Rhonda decides that her second job can wait till the fall. By this time it should be warm enough to ride the bikes. Maybe Darrin will be able to join us Eh ! Brad
  3. Scot Michigan has a few meet and eats and it is only 230 miles away, then you could also cross the border and meet up with the Ontario group as we have them everyother month or so and that is about 300 miles. Leadwolf has came to at least three of our meets. They even let him back in to go home (right Darren 93 Venture) ? Brad
  4. I have the same problem and I think the answer was Internet Explorer (IE). I had a similar question and Freebird and a couple others were trying to figure out what the issue was. I still use IE and still have the issue. I got used to it now as there is not that many. BRad
  5. See what I mean does not get hot enough around here so I never them Brad
  6. The ignition switch should be covered under warranty, but the normal problem with the ignition switch is lack of power to everything excpet the radio. So you would not be able to crank the engine over. There is two different size wires on the ignition switch a small wires (appprox 16 gauge) and the 10 gauge wire. Your problem could be the switch but your problem would be opposite to most. Brad
  7. Think I paid about 70-80 bucks CDN at a local shop here in town Thought that was pretty good BRad
  8. Squeeze if I understand correctly you state that the feeler gauge has to slide all the way through to get an accurate measurment. Also you state that you have to be at TDC. I always pulled a plug and made sure I was at TDC and checked the timing mark. Now going by memory if you do this there is one or two valves that a feeler gauge will not slide through. ? Earl if I understood what you mention, that there could be variance on the back side of the lobe, which could be 5 thousands off. Having said that, if you sent the crank/cam at the correct spot per the manual then almost every lobe is in a different spot yet the tolerance is the same. Some lobes are almost 180 degrees away from the shim and others are touching. ? Maybe I do not understand and/or maybe I just set it in the wrong spot, but I was pretty sure I was in the right spot TDC. ? Again from memory I thought it was one full turn and then 70 degrees to get to TDC 2. 70 degrees being the angle between the two cylinders. BRad Brad
  9. ON my 86 I removed mine to change the plugs could only get one back on so I removed the one that I did get on. Never had a problem. Brad
  10. Hey Guys look at this link for a manual BRad http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1828
  11. I run the Dunlop WWW and I do not have a problem with them. Decent miles and look good. I get around 12 miles on the rear and just over 20,000 on the front. Brad
  12. I agree you have to rotate the cam away from TDC or a couple lobes will be touching and starting push some valves downward. I agree with Pegscraper the base circle should be round and true. Brad
  13. 12 inch pounds = 1 ft lb Brad
  14. Not at the time, I am sure I would have had a few choice words. Very sorry to hear about the van troubles again. Just remember that whenever these things happen it is not fun but later when things are going well, and you think back it can be kinda of funny. I know I have had my share of interesting adventures. Sorry if I implied I was laughing about your troubles, did not mean it that way. Hope your son in law can get it fixed and you get to spend some good times with your family. BRad
  15. This should help with what you guys want to do. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=512 Brad
  16. Don't forget to bring a picture or a photocopy of the manual showing 4 carbs in when you go to get the bike. I know I would have some fun with that comment ! Brad
  17. Maybe he did not fix it as he knew they were coming and just didn't tell you Oh yah we like your long stories, they always seem to make me laugh Gald to hear and I am sure you will enjoy every minute of their visit BRad
  18. Dan don't you mean after the first hour the oil leak will make it as dirty as it was before cleaning. ? Brad
  19. Joopie he is actually cleaning the space out now, so that he has some room for those G2 parts. Problem is that he will charge for the G2 parts as he knows he can't get anything for the first gen parts. Brad
  20. Curious, did they ever figure out there is more than one Carb ? Brad
  21. Never bothers me, but I can never remember if it is one hour or two difference in Saskatchewan. I call there quite often, good thing the person I talk too is always there very early. Brad
  22. Starter motor, for condensor. More than one in the book said they would come out on a Sunday no extra charge. I am sure they got there money for it. Sorry for the hi jack Brad
  23. Wonder if these motors are the same as the Trail Blazer/Envoy engines just missing a cylinder ? Not sure how this Inline 6 will hold up. Had a engine light on a few times, scope stated something about the cam and crank not being in sink. Sort of like the timing chain is going bad. Brad
  24. So where are all the pictures you all should know the rules ! BRad
  25. I believe (not sure this is the right wire) but along the upper frame rail on the right side of the bike there is a connector that just needs to be pinched tight. You have to remove the lower fairing on the right side and it is a single wire. Cant remember the colour. Brad
