Ugh...rear end noise. Rear splines.
BradT replied to Jethroish's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Not sure about the splines being set deep enough (they kinda only fit one way), but they sure can be Dry. Some even get rusty, like mine were. I would not worry about driving it to the Dealer, should be fine, assuming it is dry splines. Brad -
Had same thing on my first gen and the second gen, both tires were Bridgestones. Brad

It was for the Americans so they can figure out the metric system. Notice they have both so they can convert. Brad

Told you then I thought it was a picture of you when you were a kid, but this pic was in color and I am sure there was none back then. Brad

That is right I forgot, Scanning is not that hard, it was the manually moving up the frequencies that gives me a hard time. (Thanks Monsta that is what I was thinking about). Trying to go from 105.3 to 105.5 etc...... The radio wil jump to the next preset. Little Bob I assume you got your answer. CLear as mud Eh ! Brad

BradT replied to a topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Not sure what section your refering too. But at anytime you are typing a post, cursor down the page and you will see a button that says Manage attachments, click this and you can add your photo in any one of your own posts. Brad -
Wpredock, I think did this and I think he mumbled something about a pain in the Butt, with all the parts required to add the trunk. BEst of luck. Brad

If you would just drive the bike on the road instead of four wheeling through every mud puddle it may last longer as well. Brad

I thought the same idea not necessarily you but the same idea. I pulled my piggy back which is about 180 lbs and I bet I had 200 + lbs easy including the cooler and my wifes shoes. Brad

WOW, never really thought of it but I too have seen the grease on the ground. Would think they should be responsible for the damage. BRad

I was looking at the C340 as well, but decided to wait, for a little better model and the Spring to arrive. I guess if whomever bought it does not mind then it should be okay. Brad

You have a lot of Twins here, not to mention any one in particular, maybe that is why we are such a close family. Brad

Well Bigin sounds like it is cleaning out for you glad to hear. Hate to say this but sure wished I had a problem like that, where I can keep going for a 100 mile ride to see if gets any better. My bike has not been running for about three weeks now, packed away for winter I guess. Brad

Possible the rubber is worn out, but broken I am not sure. Brad

I still believe what you describe is not exactly normal, I do not believe there should be that much vibration. Also you mentioned it has improved after some more work, SO I am still thinking it can/should be better. Try some seafoam a couple more times and go for ride, poor excuse to ride but what a price to pay. Brad

I am hoping you get it fixed as it is not common at all. My 86 pulled hard from idle to redline. I would think it is carb related but sounds like you should have it covered, with the things you did. Someone else should jump in. Brad

I can not imagine, the loss you all feel. All I can say is that I am very sorry to hear (this as it strikes a nerve with me at this time.) So I am wishing you all the very best and hope you can find some way to understand, and move on. Brad

I was there a couple years back and we went up to the Cabot Trail, and the roads were horrible but the scenery was great. We went in August and the weather was great. PS in the Venture Calendar you can see my 86 at a road side turn out on the Cabot Trail You will also see a Lot of Harleys pulling trailors ( Could not believe how many I saw). Brad
