Reiny sorry to hear about this but glad things worked out. JT We had a shepard and he would scare away most, but now we have a large breed dog (a newfoundland) but he would most likely show him wear the good silver is. Brad Brad

There are signs out that say "take care of the customers or someone else will" and "It takes years to built trust, but minutes to throw it all away". Happened to me today, bought a small ring on layaway, bill has a date that says December 26, 2007 balance owing is XXXXX. I get a letter in the mail today stating I am past due the monthly payments, and if I do not pay soon I will forfeight the dpeosit. I go down to the store and the lady there states that I was too pay each month as this is there policy (my bill stated one payment at a certain date) Anyway for once I was nice and this lady starts ripping me. I tell her I will talk to a manager tomorrow. Thinking about it I say the hel with it, and go back and ask for my money back as stated on the back of the bill, they would gladly refund ALL my money. At first she is not going to do it all, then she tells me that I can have all but the 5 layaway fee. NOW she pissed me off, and I ended up geting all my money back. Sorry to hear about your frustrations, would suggest going back and speaking to the manager and try to have a decent conversation and see wear that goes, before running away, as you were happy with them before. I Always tip, but it depends on the service. I too have a Question, What do you tip at a buffett ? Often she brings you a drink and barley see then again except for the bill Time. Also have you ever considered the fact that a waitress/waiter may not be giving poor service if she is slow, it may be the company she is working for has given her more tables than she should be handling or the cook is just really slow or over worked. I personally try to take this into consideration if the service is poor. BRad

That shim idea was a pretty neat idea. Brad -
:rotf:They have a hard time spelling as well. "frpm 7-11 July" Guess it could be a family reunion for you as well Brad

The noise I believe is related to RPM, also believe it is in more than one gear but is just more noticeable at that speed. You could switch the gear and see if it is quieter. I just turn the volume up, actually mine is not that bad. BRad

I Agree with this, stop in often, throw a couple bucks there way and you will be surprised how your treated. Personally I would never get upset at a recall, I think it is good, at least there taking care of you. They could wait and see if you ever have a problem or if you do you may not even bring it in, so they are going out of there way, for you. Hope the dealer does not scratch the bike etc, but remember this is not Yamaha it is the dealer if he did. On the first gen I believe some of the head bolts are under the camshaft, and they will have to pull the motor. If I may suggest getting it done now or during winter, this way they will have the time to do it right instead of rushing in the spring. On the noisey bike maybe you have the dreaded noise, and maybe they would look at this for you now as well (remember he is not making much money during the winter months and if your bike is there maybe he will find things to charge Yamaha.) Best of luck and do not give up yet, I hope your happy with your purchase. Brad

A few weeks back I registered and I checked for updates, and they said they woudl send my update in about 4-6 weeks. Yesterday got on the bike and when the GPS Loaded, and on the screen it stated that I could get the update to log onto the web site. JOHNP - There was a button that said check for updates did you select this one. Also I think the GPS has to be connected to the computor (did you do this) Brad

NOw that was funny. Brad

I agree they seem to lock up pretty easy, that is what I really liked the linked brakes on the first gen. I guess one thing we all can do is give a little more space (I am not blaming anyone just making the point of, be careful) Brad

Nice looking tank, but I was curious is there laws in the US about putting extra fuel in a tank like that. I think (not sure) up here that would be illegal. I also believe that the tank would have to pass many tests (non destuctive and destructive) before it would be approved. It would porbably have to be solid mounted as well. Brad

Pretty neat, I like the long sweeping curves. NO to answer your question, we have to drive quite a few miles to see some real nice roads. Brad

Guess your leaving soon with our weather lately. Winter is not winter without snow. Do I have to admit I live just a few miles from Reiny, and we are heading to Reiny's place for a BBQ during the ralley, thanks for offering Reiny. Brad

Karras, I put on Kuryakyn grips (not sure the model) a while ago and the cover slipped right on. I would think that something is holding it up, did a button slip, wire in the way, or the grip is not positioned properly. Take a close look and you may see something binding. Brad

Hey Reiny I think I found your GPS vibration problem. May I suggest you look into the newer models that are out there. :sign20: Brad

This should do it but may require the AIS to be removed or plugged. I never plugged mine but if I get higher altitude it will pop. When I ride around home and it starts popping I know it is time to sync the carbs. Does not happen often i just sync them in the spring. But if the choke is on slightly it will pop. Brad

There on there tight, so I ended up grinding the bolt that was welded to the frame off, then they just came out. Replaced them with a bolt and nut. Made it much simplier. Brad
