LAst when we were heading to Yellowstone we ran into one hell of a wind t-storm, we took cover at a gas station and parked the bike near the wall of the store. There was a newer Goldwing with a trailer and the wind blew it over. I was shocked, but that was a big wind. BRad

Never overheated and sold it three years ago, so it does not matter anymore I will try to find something with the s/n for Bob Brad -
Must have spoke to the same person as I did. THis is what I was told as well and seems to stil work. No side effects but it may not be needed either. One can should be able to two tanks in this case, which may be better than one whole can for one tank. You could also put it in the tank run for a bit to make sure it is in the carbs then let it sit for a day then run it hard and burn the rest of the gas up BRad

Not sure Bob, but it ran real close to the red, on a hot day in the city. Fan would kick in just before red line on gauge Brad -

My 86 ran right there as well. Just make sure the fan comes on and it stays out of the red, quite normal. BRad -

WEll I guess I can say been there done that as well. Although I was traveling and while the cat was away the mouse played for approx 18 months (guess it could have been rats). Well they can have each other, and made for each other. I am far better off now with Naugh-T:thumbsup2:, and she pushed to get the bike and now we are here, so you know how much better off I am now. Plus I got two pretty good step daughters 13 and 16 (not perfect but pretty good) All the best Jack and I liked the name "Just-Jack" Brad -
WE stayed at a hotel in Deadwood last year but was not a mom and pop place. There was a couple there though. Very nice area not too mention Deadwood was a neat little town. You have to go to the Cemetary as the road to get there must be the steepest one I have ever been on. Almost straight up not really but sure seemed to be. BRad

What is a flint knapping ? Never heard of it ? Brad

KBran, have a safe trip both directions and congrats on your new ride. The few years we always have to show ID entering the US. Although Canada states you must have it, not often do they ask us for it. BRad

All i can add is the count starts new every year. THe 10th digit in the VIN is the year it was made. 9th digit is a mathematical solution of all the other numbers. BRad

HE commented that the hotel occupency is down 60% this year due to fuel costs. Brad

We stayed at Exit 80 there is a SUper 8 there, which the guy wanted 60 bucks then he went to 50 and said it was his best rate. Went to the bike and called a few places and as I was putting on the helmut he came out and asked how much I was getting a room for and I said 40 bucks he said he would match the price. Brad

You still have a shock at my place ! Brad

Steering head
BradT replied to IH Truck Guy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Think you had a large helmut ? For some reason 32mm rings a bell or 1.25" BUt do not quote me. Torque is not very high, book say torque to 36 ftlbs then back off and re-torque to 2.2 ftlbs. BRad -
Phil did you get a hitch yet ? Very Nice looking, and better than the photo you passed around. Hope you enjoy it. BRad

My guess is that the 2 is a qty of two bolts, 3/8" is the diameter of the thread, NC is the type of thread National coarse, and 3/4" is the length. NOT sure why those would be Imperial and not metric though ?? Brad

Naugh-T just got home from our vacation, and when we started out we were not exactly sure where we would go or where we would end up. We left last Sunday, and got a late start so we changed where we had already thought would be our direction. Our plan was to get away and go for a ride so we did this, by covering 2,400 miles and 8 states. We ended up riding on the Blue ridge, Cherohala, and some great roads. Not too mention some nice highways. We had a great ride and an enjoyable time, although the days were long we did not get much relax time, other than sitting back and enjoying the ride. Attached are a few pictures and a PDF file of our route. This is not exact but gives you an idea of where we travelled. Brad and Naugh-T

Hope you guys have a great time. We are heading home today after a few day run all over the place. I don't blame you with the gas prices, saw a jump yesterday almost 40 cents from the days before. Brad

115 mph and room to go further...
BradT replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
THird gear should be higher than 80. I think mine was just over 90 mph according to the GPS. This would be close to 100 on speedo Brad
