I think I saw those once before in Vogel, and member who I believe sold his Millenium, Can not remember his name but he had pipes similar to that and they barked. Brad

V7 I agree with the windshield comment. On my second gen I can not see over it easily, so in the rain I am almost forced to look through which can be a pain. On my first gen it was a lot easier to look over, which I did in the rain. The 401 in many areas is 3 lanes and he was riding in the center, I was thinking I would get on 19 and ask him to move over a lane, figuring it would be easier to get by. I am sure this would not work on two lane roads. I doubt Rhonda would have let me pass the truck. or at least she would not have been hapy if I did/tried:rotf: Brad

83 Slave removal question.
BradT replied to Blaksmith's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Welcome (forgot this earlier) and for info Ibents, Gary N, and Ramblingman are close to you. Brad -
Thanks Pegscraper. I used the end brackets from the bike just cut them off with a band saw and then belt sanded it smooth, then welded the other pieces to it. Really it was quite simple. I may have a drawing somewhere, of what I made. Edit I found the drawing but I never really finished it, have to dimension it. If anyone wanted it I can send to them) Brad

General Wiring Question - Directly From Batt
BradT replied to The Crimson Knight's topic in General Tech Talk
The cheap switches may not say how many watts or the amp rating of the swtich so be careful. I would run the ground to a part on the bike as I hate having too much connected to the battery. Make sure you know how much power the device will draw. Amperage = Watts divided by Voltage eg. Lights are rated in wattage. So 55 watt bulb divided by 12 volts = 4.58 amps Or Volts times the amperage = watts Also you can run an relay on the cheap switch and not worry about the rating of the switch. If the switch is energized the this power goes to the relay which will close the contact and allow the higher current (eg lights) to pass through the relay with the electrical power bypassing the switch all together. (Hopefully this makes a little sense) Brad -
Steve I apologize but not sure you sent me the file. IF you did I did not receive it. Please resend your Map Source file to brad.tuckett@metso.com , and I will try to get it back right away as a streets and trip file, also I will send it as PDF for the ones that do not have either ! BRad

So I was on Highway 401 today (in the car) and it was pouring, and I was passing a transport, and those tires were spraying so much that you could not see anything not even the road, for the whole length of the truck and trailer. SO THE QUESTION IS. If you were on the bike DO you pass quickly ? Drop back and hope he pulls off ? OR What would you do ??? Rhonda and I were discussing this and not sure what I would have done, as it was bad enough in the car. MOst likely I would have backed away, but I would have hated to follow that Truck. BRad

Welcome Dave. To add to Mini's comment the second gen is from 99 to present and there is very little changes in the past 10 years, just improvements to certain items that were not the best quality from the start. Dave does not need to know about MK this and that as he already seen the light and bought the right one. DAN you mean passing wind Right ? BRad

83 Slave removal question.
BradT replied to Blaksmith's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Mbrood has it right it is a pain to get out you can twist this way and that and not get it. SO take some time away come back relaxed and try again. NExt thing you know if will just fall out, on you. Putting it back is just as much fun. We are in Kitchener, but not sure where you are ? If your close and need a hand give us a shout. Brad -
I get a ticking sound or a real bad screeching noise seems like the problem is in one of the wire to the headsets. Turning the wheel to the left seems to correct this for a little while. Maybe your intercom is set too loud. Or you could just turn up the tunes. Brad

but it would be from over filling the crankcase. More than half full (or half empty) in the site gauge would leak down the overfill tubes Brad

NOt sure we have any members in North Bay. We did a long time ago but he sold his bike and dissappeared. E-Fishin is probably the closest in that area, but he is in greater district of Sudbury. Brad

If you do this you will miss many of the funny posts/comments and lot of the fun. As a lot of posts can get sideways quite quickly. So I use the "NEW POSTS" and skim through. Caution When you do this consider yourself hooked further. Brad
