  1. How old is the oil and what thickness. Sometimes dirty oil will make it clunck into first gear and it's getting colder so if your oil is too thick it can clunck untill it warms up. Just another idea to look at along with the new kit. hope it fixes your problems Brad
  2. Shutterbug better get a new camera one with antishake built in. Congrats and I am sure we will see it in the Spring. Brad
  3. Thought I read here that when the temp. get cooler these can weep a little. The cheap secret was too add some tape to the inside of false covers at the plug location. This will keep a little more pressure on them. BRad
  4. This is correct but is also used in conjuction with the oxygen sensor so that if your air mixtures changes (altitude changes, cold or warm temps), it can correctly regulate the fuel required for proper burning. The main concern would be your gas mileage. Quick search looks like you can get one new for about 160 bucks. These are pretty common part for GM and is probably used on many different vehicles, so should be easy to find a used one, or about half the price. BRad
  5. Sorry to hear about your friend. When you do make it down, look us up and stop by for a coffee or a beer. Phone numbers are in my profile, If you can give us a day or so notice. BRad

    What to do?

Maybe you been hanging around Mr. Owl too Much ! Yes the pictures looks like it is not bad at all. Not sure why they just do not fix it. Maybe at our prices that plastic adds up fast. Brad
  13. My speedometer is about about 6-7% off so as you increase in speed the error is MPH increases. The odometer is only about 2% off. Brad

    What to do?

Like your idea. But I would not agree to take 2,000 off for extras. Remember this total includes the taxes so you can do the math and figure what they are giving. I would also ask why it is being written off. The photos did not look like it would come close to the value they are giving you. I would run up and look at it, and would bring it home if I could. If it is not bad try and get them to fix it. Good luck and hope your looking (oops feeling) better Brad
  17. Well I have never saw the fuel light come on, and the fuel counter only once. I have had to switch to reserve more than once. At highway speeds I have to switch to reserve at about 140-160 miles and it will take about 18 litres to fill. So I still have lots of gas at that time. Brad
  18. As always we are thinking of you both. I am sure glad to see your doing much better. BRad and Rhonda
  19. How do you know the mileage if it is locked on the clock Hope they get it fixed for you BRad
  20. When the radio siezes up I would just turn on and off the CB and then it would start working again. Sometimes it takes more than once to get working again. Brad
  21. Tapping steel will also align the particles and make things magnet, does not work as well as the magnet though. Bet you leave your wallet in the car when at work as well. Those large magnets will erase all the info on that black stripe of your credit cards real quick. Brad Brad
  22. Personally I would not worry about it, at least before hand. After you sync the carbs you may find that the idle may need adjusting. Seems that if they were out and then they get sync'd you may have to decrease your idle a bit. You can pretty hear where it should be running. Brad
  23. Can't hurt but I never did. I always assumed most the crap would come out if you drain it just after you ran it for a bit. By the way I like that Fuzzy photo in your albums, neat. You will have to get out to one of the meets we will have as your pretty close by. Brad
  24. I too get a Loud peircing squeel but have narrowed it down to only when the intercom is on and the rear headset is unplugged. Occasionally you get a loud chirp plugging in either front or rear head set. Just recently I started getting it when you turn the handlebars to far at a stop, normally moveing handlebars from one side to other normally stops this. I think it is the cord from front head set to wherever it goes. I never get the squeel when the intercom is low or off. NOW I did have problems with the CB acting up, it would freeze radio controls etc.. and lastly I had a problem with not hearing anything from the CB but could transmit. I correct these problem (I am hoping, so far so good), by dielectric grease all the plugs making sure ground wire on the rear of control/radio unit (in fairing) was good and tying all those plugs with a tie rap to the little knotch on the right side on the inner fairing. Brad
  25. Congrats and Welcome. When leaning it over at a stop just remember it is heavy, and hope you continue enjoying your ride, as I am sure you will. Also glad you stopped by as this place is almost as addicting as your new ride is Brad
