  1. Yes, the handling is much better at slower speeds. I have both the narrower front tire (130) and the leveling links. To compensate for the links raising the rear end, I put on a lower than stock seat (about 1" lower). Its a Saddlemen Road Sofa. Regarding the kickstand issue, I just learned a tip (I have yet to try it). Apparently if you turn the front tire hard lock left, the bike is a breeze to get off the stand. Stu
  2. Ok, so put a new Dunlop D404 on the rear (16,900+ miles on the first one). While at it, I had the Yamaha dealer install the Diamond R level links. Once I got it home, added 3.9 Lbs of air to the front forks, and 32.4 lbs to the rear. Amazing difference in handling at all speeds, last year at 10,800 miles I had already put on the 130 front tire. This bike rocks now. Great handling at all speeds. Notices a huge difference in parking lots and is not following grooves in the road at all. No squirreliness (is that a word?) at all! However it is steep angle on the kickstand and a monstrous lift off when the bike is parked. Not that I am willing to change it back - no sirree! But must admit is a bit of a heft up off the stand? Any one ever done a kick stand mod? Added a pad to to bottom of the kickstand. I mean the cheapo is to carry a hockey puck on a string, but was thinking of something more (dare I say) elegant? Thoughts? Stu
  3. Ok, so I ordered the level links from Diamond R and just got them. Now the 2 stupid questions. They cam with new bolts - should I use those or the existing bolts that hold the factory links from Yamaha? And what type of grease should I use to lube? White Lithium or axle / bearing grease? Thanks in advance..
  4. Question, is the 20W50 Synthetic the V-Twin or the Car oil? And is it readily available? Was about to do an oil change and was going to try it? Thanks in advance Stu
  5. I am just curious, what lowering kit did you use? How does it handle in slow speeds? Thanks in advance Stuart
  6. To all ... beware of this company. This past Christmas I ordered a pair of Leather Motorcycle Jeans for my wife. I guessed at the size, and was wrong. So I contacted Open Road Leather and Accessories, told them about the problem, and they gave me an RMA number. I returned them post haste to exchange for another size and model that had a more generous boot cut. I called him after a week because I had not heard anything from him. He did receive the pants bsck and was prepared to make an exchange for me. I gave him my information (there was a difference in the price of the pants) and I assumed the deal was done..right? Three days later he calls me, and now all of a sudden the pants have a "leg cut off"??? And that the factory won't accept them back - and I am out 115.00 bucks. The pants basically came out of the box and back in. There was nothing wrong with them when I sent them back. I can't believe this.. He wouldn't do anything for me? I am told the pants are coming back to me. I will be interested to see the box they are in and if it was slashed open in shipping. In any case - I am done fuming. There is no honor in business anymore. Frustrated.. Stu
  7. Is their a particular brand or size of this moulding? Can I ask where you purchased it, or get a part number? Looks really cool. Thanks - Stu
