Lou---when I first saw you it was from the back and side so I didn't notice the hat(didn't recognize it was a Venture hat) but the Harley Davidson patch threw me off .So I wasn't sure until about the 3rd siting that it was you and by then it was too late. Carl----I'm not sure if you meant that I missed out in your message but couldn't be helped as we had to hurry back sooner than anticipated(friends wife needed him home) so I didn't have time to stop in.(sorry)

Hey Lou: got down to Port Dover around 11:30. Saw you on the road a couple time's taking pictures but by the time I figured out it was you and I found a place to park(I was driving a white Mazda(Ranger)pickup with topper and bush bar on front) you had disapeared. Kept looking and taking pictures and spotted 2 83-85 Ventures riding around and then parked in Timmi's but didn't know the riders.Also seen(uuuugggg:happy-emoticon:) the next new THONG MAN ridding around. I say next new one because we seen the original walking around(fully dressed) with his trademark (THONG MAN) beltbuckle on.

Anyone else going to Port Dover for Friday 13th ? My son's will be along with a friend from work. NO we will not be ridding as good chance of bad weather and it is raining right now and around freezing temp. Wanted to but don't want to take a chance(long season to go) If we have time we might be able to stop in to Carl's in Brantford on the way back. I guess we could be like some other bikers and sneak bike in on trailer and just fib about ridding there. Hope to be there around 11:30 or so

Condolences to the family from my family!!!! Just remembered meeting and ridding with him and a couple other bike people before I joined up on this site. They left London and met me in Woodstock and had a ride around here to Brantford where we ate and discussed riding and possible joining up to the group. He seemed to be a very good person and very easy to speak to. He will be missed .

I had a bike jack from Costco like the sears one and am not too confident using it with my bikes as they seem too lean too much and seems awkward standing it up and then putting jack under before I can lift it so I built one somewhat like the one afabonline has. I can lift either bike or work on my lawn tractor and snow-blower also. It will lift with a hydrolic cylinder half way then can go to a total height of 34'' WHICH MAKES IT GREAT FOR DOING OIL CHANGES and under-work on tractor. Only thing with home-made is weight. To make mine more solid it weighs too much and is harder to move around BUT better to be more solid than not enough and flimsy.Works for me!!!! Could show pictures if wanted.

First seen and took pictures of the same bike at Friday the 13th a year or so ago. It was said to have been driven some(but probably trailer queen)

Had no story about advertising but that was mine and Beverly's(phantom wife) FIRST date place and many many more until Woodstock's A&W was torn down. Even did a drive thru (and drink) on our wedding day car procession. 25 years now and still go once in a while. It was my everyday haven and hangout after work for a very long time. Everyone always seemed to know me and I STILL have people recognizing me as UNCLE Phil(nickname at the time) mostly because of my nephew always calling me uncle and it caught on from there.Still miss those days even tho there is a new one here now(noway near the way they were)Wife hopes I don't win a lottery as one of the first things going to be done is bring back a COMPLETELY retro drive-in complete with door to door service and maybe sometimes roller skates.Come on numbers!!!!I'm waiting/waiting/waiting:mo money:

Just got back from Yamaha test ride at The Power Garage(new Yamaha dealer) in Woodstock Ontario.They had about 15 bikes-- took out the Warrior(not for me) then finally got to drive a second generation Venture. Now I know what everyone is complaining about the WWWWHHHHIIINNNEEE talk about annoying,could hardly pay attention to radio and driving.Bike only had 195klms on it.If this whine is that bad on other peoples bikes I'm glad I didn't buy one .Was fine as long as I didn't give it gas but I wouldn't have gone anywhere otherwise.Talked to rep about it and he said it has been this way since beginning and will probably be that way until new model(maybe)He would like to also see the new V-max engine put in it.

Since the wife wanted something DIFFERENT for our 25th I waited to the last minute(nothing new) and had her follow me to drop off truck at repair shop and took me to bike shop in town(called ahead to get them to go along) to pick-up a part.Before we left home she informed me that she will probably be laid-off in Dec. so DON'T spend any money??????????????OOPS!!! So my old helmet box was brought out for her and of course she thought it was a new helmet. Had to remind her after she thanked me (boys thought she would cry) that we had to take it BACK because she and I would be laid-off for a few months---bet you guessed what her answer was!!! Then she told me that she didn't buy me anything because we didn't have any extra money after redoing renovation on livingroom so I just figured OK maybe later. Nope !!! Waited untill Sat, and boys took us to Brantford for supper and after desert wife went to go to ladiesroom and got down on her knee and handed a box to me(rather fast so noone would see her) and asked me to remary her----I said no but reconsidered really fast before I got hit. Rest of the night went really well as there was asupprise party waiting. All in all it was great and ready for another 25.

Thurs. went to Port Dover then along lake to Port Stanley--St. Thomas--London and home(Woodstock). Yesterday went to Goderich for the day and had a great turkey dinner.(since my sister-in-law isn't cooking turkey only ham)

Sent D.V.D. to sarges46 today. It is a good D.V.D. to watch and I have tried out a few of the things already. The slow turning with back brake on helps a lot for better control in turning tight corners and in parking lots.:happy34:Recommend it to everyone!!

Was by your house on way back from Simcoe today around 4:50pm to show you the new bike but you weren't there. Guess it will have to be another day. Finally got bike on the road Fri. afternoon and went on first ride yestureday. Wife went with friend and his wife to Norwich for coffee and ended up going to Port Dover for coffee. Went to Simcoe today so she could go to friendship festival. I think (no I know ) she wishes I had my old bike still or at least got another one like it as the seats are little harder and bike is louder.(litttle more rest stops)

Pegscraper---measured risers and the originals were 1-1/2"from tripplle tree to center of handlebar and new ones are 4-1/2''. BradT--No I haven't got a hitch YET but will either be a homemade winter project or might even buy one(seen one advertised) Went on first ride today. Port Dover with wife and buddy and wife. Just got back around 10:30pm. Not as comfortable a ride as old bike and also alot LOUDER with Vance & Hines exhaust.

finally got the new bike on the road today.Between banks/insurance etc. As some of you know from Marcarl's birthday bash it is a 2000 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado 1600cc. It isn't a first gen but it will do for now. Not sure what I will be doing with my 87 yet.
