  1. Thanks dacheedah! Was wondering - what is done with the rubber piece on the inner fairing and also dealer says that the cruise control button in the middle will be in the way.Any Ideas?
  2. Thanks for all the suggestions! Got the time to do it late last-night so only got a couple replies and so tried the WD40 trick but was having problems(used a thing we use at work called a white stick used for pulling off stickers)It took quite a while but finally got sticker part off BUT it was a pain in-------- to get all the glue off -even using the Goo Gone! Seems I have a few minor scratches that I hope will come out. Tried using t-shirt, shop towel, and micro-fiber clothes but scratches still appeared.Hope they come out! Thanks for the help anyways! Should have waited maybe----o-well hind-site is 20/20.
  3. colmike. You said the risers are easy to remove---do you mean it can be done without removing fairing? I found a set of alluminum risers (only 1" risers)off a Yamaha in bike yard ( not sure what model of bike they. Were off as owner was not there) and would like to try them to relieve my shoulder ache but wasn't sure what exactly was involved.Only thing I saw on site was doing it on RSTD which doesn't have a fairing.Any help would be appreciated!!!
  4. This has probably been discussed before BUT I cannot seem to find anything about how to remove labels off new gas tank(enviromental label yellow)

  18. Taking bike in tomorrow for first service in Delhi then home to mount my JUST MADE trailer hitch(still have some finishing touches) get trailer out and checked over then get all set up to go. Hoping to get off work at least an hour early so I can meet up with you at your place. May leave bike at home all ready to go and take truck to work.Still thinking on camping out but not sure yet.
  19. Friend asked me a question about the Guardian Bell. When you buy new bike and trade in old bike do you take your bell off and place it on new bike or do you buy new bell and trade with some-one?
  20. I am also wondering this too hope someone can help
  21. I have an 87VR and years ago I swapped out my worn out right(I am told it wears out more because linked front left to rear rotors and I used front brake more)) with a used left one from another bike. All you have to do is put it on with the cooling fins pointing(rotating) the same way.So if you take left one off put on right side the same way(fins will be same way. There is a slight thickness on the ridge in center but this does not(at least on mine) make brakes work any different. Not sure about thickness of rotors BUT if you have repair manual it will be in there--if no book look on site as it was posted before that you could download a manual. Hope this helps!
  22. Thanks Bob I am working on that right now.Have to get a day wife is off and I can stay awake.I know she will not let me keep Road Star as back-up.
  23. Phantom Wife's car is paid off this August and she still says I can buy NEW bike so I took out the 2012 Harley Electra Glide Ultra Limited Saturday morning. She seen it at the Harley dealer when she went shopping with oldest boy a couple weeks ago and she liked it.Well she actually like the Pearl White Electra Glide Ultra. Seemed kind of tight for the driver and arms started to ache in shoulder area. This was only after 20min ride--might be alright if set up to me . Also stopped in to the Yamaha dealer to see about the Venture which was posted as normal price of $19,999 BUT ON NOW FOR $19,023 which includes $145 payday payment warranty/taxes/freight/p.d.i./administ.but they are only offering me $3800 for my 2000 Roadstar Silverado 1600 fully chromed and options with 85,000klms. Not sure if this is a good deal for trade or not any ideas??
  24. Hey chabicheka sorry didn't see any of you guys in Dover Fri. Worked midnights and got home got dressed and rode down with oldest boy(Phantom Wife said it was too cold and wouldn't go). By the pictures you took you were right beside my Roadstar(right side looking up street with white house in picture pic. 21)Arived by 10 or so and left by 1:30 as I had to try and get some sleep so I could work overtime Fri. night. Will see everybody at MaeCarls in May.
  25. On my second set of Frog Toggs and just love them ! First pair is used as spare for wife to use only because since owning Road-star with Vance & Hines exhaust which is VERY HOT and Toggs don't take heat well at all and they melt easily.Have used Duct tape to patch up holes and they still work. Been thru severe thunder storms and no wetness. Sometimes it felt like crotch area was getting wet so I would ride slightly off seat and when I stopped NOTHING was wet at all.Great investment--cost $90CAN here. Colder weather coat is great for taking the chill off.
