  1. I am thinking according to the adds in some cycle mags that the Stratoliner Deluxe may become the new Yamaha touring platform. The reason I think this is that if you buy the 2013 model you get a FREE Garmin zumo 665 GPS. The only thing missing is a trunk but they do have a rack which other bikes have and are called touring bikes.
  2. Glad you are OK and storm passed you! Sirens must have been a bit scary if they were the ones I think they were! Was a good time! Didn't get to socialize as much as I would have liked(still not great in that department--still working on it tho) Had a good ride home except for the GPS seemed to make me take wrong roads. First it took me down toll road and after resetting it a couple times it only cost me 50cents to get off. Hope you have a great time the rest of your holidays.Supposed to be good roads around the Ottawa area!
  3. Left around 9 this morning after having coffee with RandyR at Timmie's.Randy had to wait for someone to check him out of cabin. Slight rain for 20 min then was fine. YES I was wearing my NEW coat(thanks to the person who donated it as a prize!)It is a little tight but not bad for warm weather riding. Worked good when the temperature was what it was after my GPS took me on a tour of Buffalo before I mad the border. Had a great time at the International! GREAT JOB GUY'S & GAL'S!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also thanks to Pioneer Motorsports for their help and use of their property! Great meeting new people and also people I met before!!
  4. Phantom Wife & I and another couple made it down around 9:30 or so and tried to park on the street west of main street in the shade and fairly close to the action BUT with trailer on there was no chance of that(especially since the other couple were at odds with each-other and didn't feel like finding a spot again) so we did ride past Timmie's and went down east street with Beer Store on it and had to ride almost to main street again to get a spot .Missed shady spot by 4 bikes. It seemed like 3miles to walk till there were any venders. There is nothing worse than a huge crowd, but you make the best of it!Didn't take anywhere near of pictures I normally do as there aren't that many different bikes that are normally seen elsewhere! Was hard to do anything as we had to keep track of each-other and they weren't interested in doing or going anywhere(not sure why they came--too hot --don't like crowds)I didn't think it was that bad. Was a lot more crouded a few years ago when it was shoulder to shoulder and was nowhere near that Fri. Saw about 10 first gens. and about the same second gens. Left around 2pm as the others had enough fun. Took us about 45 mins to go from the lights at grocery store to the police barricade towards Simcoe. Stopped at Timmie's just off main street where they had shade and rested for a while then headed home. All in all it was a good day! Wished we could have met-up with you guys but there is always other times!
  5. Phantom Wife & I are still planning to go to Dover with another couple from work. Will be pulling trailer for extras and probably parking on side streets where there will be more room and some SHADE which will come in handy I think! Sorry to hear that a lot of you won`t be able to go!I think it will be EXTREMELY crouded which neither of us really like but will try to make a nice day of it anyways! Will try to take lots of pictures and post later.Have new program to try and re-size pictures.
  6. Have dry sounding clicking/clunking sound in rear end of my new 2012 Venture. Can hear it when slowing down at stop signs etc. and also when pushing around in lane-way . Took to dealer today to get opinion and he says it is the needle bearing in rear-end so have appointment for next Mon. to get fixed. Also passing lights blew fuse(have them on all the time ) and couldn't find fuse until dealer remembered it was behind fairing so it has to be torn apart to change. Will get them to move to outside so I can change it later. Rear-end will be covered under warranty but not sure about fuse. Asked about it from sales man and heard mechanic say it was just a fuse BUT it was him who wired fuse behind fairing instead of outside where it is assessable--so I think it should be covered but will see on Mon.(if not covered it is about a 2hr job)
  7. XV1100SE beat me to the question about your next ride! Sorry Wizzard towards your dilemma but I have no help unless you need physical labour

  9. Just wondering if Evan was also in distress since he is holding flag upside down. So who's bike towed blondie home? We(Phantom Wife & I) went for ride with another couple to Bayfield and then on to Goderich for the day ride. Was about 300klm ride.Great day! So what happened??
  10. Thanks dacheedah! Was wondering - what is done with the rubber piece on the inner fairing and also dealer says that the cruise control button in the middle will be in the way.Any Ideas?
  11. Thanks for all the suggestions! Got the time to do it late last-night so only got a couple replies and so tried the WD40 trick but was having problems(used a thing we use at work called a white stick used for pulling off stickers)It took quite a while but finally got sticker part off BUT it was a pain in-------- to get all the glue off -even using the Goo Gone! Seems I have a few minor scratches that I hope will come out. Tried using t-shirt, shop towel, and micro-fiber clothes but scratches still appeared.Hope they come out! Thanks for the help anyways! Should have waited maybe----o-well hind-site is 20/20.
  12. colmike. You said the risers are easy to remove---do you mean it can be done without removing fairing? I found a set of alluminum risers (only 1" risers)off a Yamaha in bike yard ( not sure what model of bike they. Were off as owner was not there) and would like to try them to relieve my shoulder ache but wasn't sure what exactly was involved.Only thing I saw on site was doing it on RSTD which doesn't have a fairing.Any help would be appreciated!!!
  13. This has probably been discussed before BUT I cannot seem to find anything about how to remove labels off new gas tank(enviromental label yellow)
