I was also out and about Sat. on the bike. It was pretty nice out!. Met a few other people who were riders but have their bikes in storage.Later on it started to rain so had to put the bike back in the garage till another nice day.Today isn't a nice day as it was pouring on and off all morning.

SilverT I bought the 2012 in May and it has the 5 year warranty. Wish Yamaha gave Canada the roadside assistance as the U.S. does. Also the bigger I-pod(Canada gets 2gig one and U.S. gets an 8gig I think. Just turned 13,000klms and would not trade for any other bike. Thanks Freebird & MarCarl ! Phantom Wife liked your comments about trailer and riding position. -
My first bike was an RD350. It was a great bike and also almost bought one last year. Had it for 4 years until it needed rebuild.

Got the back brakes done plus the 12000klm service yesterday. Mechanic also changed plugs and oil(engine & rear end oil). He checked out front brakes and says that I should be more aggressive on using front brakes to stop instead of slowly using brakes to stop.Says it is probably build-up between pads that makes the noise and feeling I get. When I went to leave bike almost stalled when accelerating so I mentioned it seemed to be runing on 3 cylinder which he said he changed plus band it was fine when he took it for ride so he tried throttle and went across lot and said it seemed fine. Left again and go a few yards up road and went back and said it was still running on 3 cylinders which he finally tried throttle again and shut off bike and said "wait a minute" and then shut off bike and checked plug wires and guess what front plug wire was NOT secured. Tried it again and was great. $300 later I went home .No more problems>

Going in tomorrow to get service and also replace back brake pads as there is a metal on metal sound so using front right now.Figured should get more than 11500klms before having to change brakes.Might get them to change fronts because when slowing down is fine but the make noise when they come to a stop. Sometimes they will squeel just before stopping.

chabicheka you forgot up hill also! Also there must have a big difference in options between the black and the blue cars to make a $6000 difference. Dealer should have known that before trade don't you think?

I agree with every-ones opinions posted here about the Venture!! I just bought a 2012 also BLACK and it is a great bike!!Keeping clean is a pain! Mine cost around $20,000 can and the Harley of same comparison value would have cost $30,000+++++++. Has no problem towing my homemade trailer with wife aboard. Doesn't really take that long to get used to bike but does depend on experience! Just my opinion! Good luch with YOUR choice after all is said and done it IS YOUR CHOICE! -

Our condolences from our family to yours! Sad to hear of your loss!

I would be wondering how it would pull if it is a wide trailer say 3 1/2 ft wide and not packed right would it tend to lean harder to that side making it harder to control? I know if it was one that was made narrow it wouldn't pull to the side. If it was me and it was as wide as a car-top carrier I personally put a regular axle on it.My 2cents.

Do you mean battery ground? If yes it is where the right side horn is . Just behind the oil fill cap.If you look up the air-horn install it shows where the new horn is to be mounted. Hope this helps!

RandyR---I have the 2012 and it is Black not 2tone unless you meen the red metal flake that only shows in the sun. If that IS the 2013 then maybe I should have waited as it would be easier to keep clean than the black!

Was the mishap(at pumps) the cause of no running lights on the way home? I was watching your bike and thought I couldn't see any lights on but by the time I was going to ask you I noticed your conversation with Saddlebum and figured he told you. Did you find the problem yet? I was wondering why you posted if anybody needed any lights? Carl If you need a hand I could come down for a few hours after I get off work to give a hand where I can or second opinion ? I could wait until you get time( I get home around 8 and could come down around 9-930 and come home home around1:30 or 2.

I had a 2000 Road Star with 1600cc engine for just over 4 years and put on 60,000klms before trading in on 2012 Venture. Really liked it! Had white walls which gave it the nastalgic look(old school) -studded seats and saddle-bags .It has a lower seating height which makes it easier to handle. Had good power and nice ride. Wife had problems with seats for comfort tho.

Just picked up some parts off guy in Fenwick Ont. last night.Got left and right outer fairings-left and right lower fairings-side covers left/rt and front fender for $160can.I told him I would mention that he has some more parts to sell before he scraps what he doesn't need.So if any one wants his ad is on Kijjii under St.Catherines. look under Venture.Parting out two Ventures

Didn't see this posted until now!! I would have gone!!!Since it is where I live.If I have notice I could go to bed as soon as I get home from work(work midnights) and get up early to go! Went for ice-cream a week ago but went to Extreme Scoup near WalMart. HUGE amount for good price.Got small cones and they were REALLY BIG! ALMOST COULDN'T FINISH!!!!! Well I guess I will have to wait for next time.

6th gear would be nice. Also reverse for backing trailer up when loaded, would be good for parking in more spots.

I am thinking according to the adds in some cycle mags that the Stratoliner Deluxe may become the new Yamaha touring platform. The reason I think this is that if you buy the 2013 model you get a FREE Garmin zumo 665 GPS. The only thing missing is a trunk but they do have a rack which other bikes have and are called touring bikes.

Glad you are OK and storm passed you! Sirens must have been a bit scary if they were the ones I think they were! Was a good time! Didn't get to socialize as much as I would have liked(still not great in that department--still working on it tho) Had a good ride home except for the GPS seemed to make me take wrong roads. First it took me down toll road and after resetting it a couple times it only cost me 50cents to get off. Hope you have a great time the rest of your holidays.Supposed to be good roads around the Ottawa area!

Left around 9 this morning after having coffee with RandyR at Timmie's.Randy had to wait for someone to check him out of cabin. Slight rain for 20 min then was fine. YES I was wearing my NEW coat(thanks to the person who donated it as a prize!)It is a little tight but not bad for warm weather riding. Worked good when the temperature was what it was after my GPS took me on a tour of Buffalo before I mad the border. Had a great time at the International! GREAT JOB GUY'S & GAL'S!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also thanks to Pioneer Motorsports for their help and use of their property! Great meeting new people and also people I met before!!

Phantom Wife & I and another couple made it down around 9:30 or so and tried to park on the street west of main street in the shade and fairly close to the action BUT with trailer on there was no chance of that(especially since the other couple were at odds with each-other and didn't feel like finding a spot again) so we did ride past Timmie's and went down east street with Beer Store on it and had to ride almost to main street again to get a spot .Missed shady spot by 4 bikes. It seemed like 3miles to walk till there were any venders. There is nothing worse than a huge crowd, but you make the best of it!Didn't take anywhere near of pictures I normally do as there aren't that many different bikes that are normally seen elsewhere! Was hard to do anything as we had to keep track of each-other and they weren't interested in doing or going anywhere(not sure why they came--too hot --don't like crowds)I didn't think it was that bad. Was a lot more crouded a few years ago when it was shoulder to shoulder and was nowhere near that Fri. Saw about 10 first gens. and about the same second gens. Left around 2pm as the others had enough fun. Took us about 45 mins to go from the lights at grocery store to the police barricade towards Simcoe. Stopped at Timmie's just off main street where they had shade and rested for a while then headed home. All in all it was a good day! Wished we could have met-up with you guys but there is always other times!
