This was another reason why I didn't buy Harley that I wanted. Dealers around here(London/Kitchener Ontario Canada) don't even want to talk Metric. When I mentioned trading in my 2000 Road Star 1600 with a lot of options they told me that they would call a "FRIEND" and get back to me. Turned out that the "FRIEND" WOULD GIVE me a whole $3000 "they said accessories didn't add to raise trade value and that would be around 10% down payment" for the $30,000 + bike I was looking at. Harley thought that was a great price" I DIDN'T at all !!! So off to another dealer (Yamaha) that said that they would ONLY be able to give me $5500 for the same bike that Harley friend said $3000. Guess what bought brand new 2012 Royal Star Venture for almost 1/2 price of Harley!! Haven't looked back!!! Well maybe a bit since I always wanted one since my younger days.

Well this year didn't start off great as I mistook the 3rd. for the 4th. as most are on Sundays not Saturdays. Will try NOT to make this mistake next year!

As usual I am going to miss this meet. I have to go to work that night and there won't be enough time for food and sleep before I have to go to work. Could have if I could have afforded to retire like I could have this month(or won the lottery). No luck yet!! Still hoping.

Gave Phantom Wife HP Laptop and she gave me a Keurig2.0 coffee maker and an oil painting of my 2012 Royal Star Venture S. I took picture to show but it won't upload here and there doesn't seem to be any way to downsize

When I was in my 20's I was the only one with a car when I hung out with nieces and nephews so we would go to neighboring towns and cities to roller-skate. This went on for a few years and got very tiring for me. So one day we were going to go to Toronto (about 90 miles from me) for coffee then skate when I run onto the shoulder of the road and kept driving. Heard later that I drove about 5 miles this way and stayed on shoulder even around bends. Supposedly someone was telling others to wake me but refused because could be more dangerous at the moment.A little while later I guess I got back on highway and said lets stop here I don't think we should go any farther. Then a week later one of my nieces gave me a picture of Sleepy from Snow White and it has stuck since then. Had to add 2 to my username when I joined because someone had that name at the time(not sure if it was here or the other group before we split) Can't remember why the lower case "s "tho. My wife got her username because for the first few years (and seems like now also) nobody even believed I was married because she never went to meet and greets or rides with me so somebody brought up the name Phantom Wife and it has stuck. I keep trying to get her out but dosn't always work as most people in my area can attest to. MarCarl & Wizzard765 have showed up at my home and have seen her with me. Some remarks have been that{ I rented her} {picked her up on the way there}{my neighbor} and a few others.

How much do you pay for FULL coverage insurance on your 2nd gen?
sleepy2 replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
Primmum (TD)$1200 full coverage. Drive longer than most but still shouldn't be so much. Also wish I was in States sometimes. -
Went for 2 1/2 hour ride today. Was 3deg c. Only seen a dirt bike with passenger(NO Phantom was NOT with me) Seen lots of Harley clothing wearers around but NO bikes with them. Brother-in-law saw a bunch yesterday tho.Waiting to see what rest of week brings.

Well rode up till last Wednesday night to work at 10pm. Was not a bad ride only -3c. Pretty chilly driving around Thurs. Did some shopping and stopped for coffee with 3 retired ex-police and ex-Marine that has lived here for over 40 years then went home to get some sleep before I had to go to work. Looked at update of forecast and decided to leave bike at home just in-case. As it turned out by the time I made it home in morning and got within 2 blocks of home the road was covered enough that I would have to drive trailer that few blocks just to get home. So I guess won't be ridding until spring unless it gets nice out for a few days during winter. Usually get out for a couple rides during this but that usually depends on weather and salt distribution. Will see what happens. Come-on-spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks EVERYONE for the great time and fellowship shown . Thanks to the New York gang for organizing and entertainment . Pioneer Motorsports for the use of their facilities etc.Great people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I did better at conversing with more people this year than normal(still a work in progress) Thanks to everyone I did get to talk to this year. Had some good conversations with many people. Learned a lot. Ben--Thought about going to Casablanca then turning off like I did last year but it might not have been far enough to see the flee market. So will probably put my winnings in bank to save for trip next year. All ready planning on trip next year.
