Anyone else camping besides Grez007 and I?
-
Washed bike and put on some wax MarCarl has been using and kindly lent me some to try. Put on the driving light extension that Freebird gave me at maintenance day(had to take fairing off so I could extend wires to reach) While fairing was off I drilled windshield and bolted the three pouches I use so I can see speedometer again--otherwise they droop down. Also replaced license plate mount as mine was broken from a couple years ago .(got one off e-bay from British Columbia) I also remounted my set of Harley light and bracket onto stock bracket to have more light.

Don't know if my other post came up so----just verified my days off that weekend and seen this post of yours and was wondering if I should wait till after Sat. to book my site?

Bought 1" risers from a bike dismantlement in town 2 years ago and finally got them put on this weekend with the help of bongobobny & Jayceesfolly at maintenance day. Hopefully this will help my shoulder pain . Adjusted the angle a couple times on the way home and haven't found the right position yet maybe because my shoulders were sore from the ride to Dons. Also a bolt holding saddle bag hinge fell out and got help with that also. Thanks Jay!

I made it home around 7pm and set up trailer. Left MarCarl at Timmies in Paris Ont. Thanks again Eileen & Don for all your hard work and hospitality this weekend!

I had to take the truck in again with the same problems as before. The son used his code reader again and got the very same code as the first time . It said a module wasn't reading so dealer finally agreed they changed wrong part(fuse box first time) and would change it for free. Took it in today and got module changed and hopefully it is fixed.

Went for 3 hour ride to swap meet i Fort Erie(Can.) then back after a few hours. Bought a new Gel battery then visited MarCarl on way home. Went to work next night and mysteriously my driving light started turning until it pointed into left ditch. Got home in morning and took it apart and tightened it up again. Can't figure out why it would come loose unless someone bumped it at meet or work.

My condolences also from Phantom Wife & I to the family!!!!!!!!! Just heard today when I stopped and visited with MarCarl .

Got around to change anti-freeze as dealer never changed it over the last 5 years of service done on bike.(found out after looking at receipts of work done) Had to buy new plugs behind fake cylinder covers after 2 started leaking after the change which meant taking tank and lower fairing off to get access to drain fluid. Took it out today for test ride and everything seems OK. Pretty chilly out (-1- -5) New grips MarCarl helped with seem to help with hand gripping.

Update on truck----part that failed was the main fuse-box under hood. Finally picked truck up yesterday. Had to phone them and left message--2 hours later they called to say truck was done. Went to pick up and ended up $1350can part $900+ labor + diagnostic + tax(government tax added) Got in truck to leave AND Air-bag light came on--drove around building right back into service so tech could check it out. Found out this was the second unit tried as replacement was defective. After getting new one they forgot to make sure all fuses and relays were seated in the box so ABS and Air-bag lights came on. They said instructions didn't tell them to do this?????? I think it would have been the first thing to do without being told. All in all everything seems to be all right for now. Seems the saying goes and usually applies to me If It wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Kretz for turning them around. Carl used step drill to cut the end hole(of the grips) out to the thread size of the weights then turned down roughly 1/2 in. or so of the chromed shoulder so it could slide in and bolt up to handle bars. They look and feel great. Thanks again!! Carl also mentioned how well my bike seemed to be holding the trailer. When I got home and had my son help me take bike off my truck had every idiot light on the dash light up and started dinging. Took into dealer on Tues. and found out it could be part of the computer as the part is going to cost $900can and a total of $1300can to get it back. Had to wait till Wed. to get part in overnight but snowed in morning and 2 mechanics couldn't get to work and the tec who does this work phoned in sick so waited till Thurs. but jobs from Wed. were to go first before mine and so didn't get any where until today and just called and am waiting to find out if I get it back today

Went to go to Picket line and bike turned over good but wouldn't start so retried and nothing just buzzed. Put spare in and took to battery shop and they tested it saying there were no bad cells but needed charge. Put on charger for less than 2 hours and said it was charged. Tried test that was suggested -rev bike to around 2500 to 3000rpms and check voltage which was around 13.7v. Is this OK (they said should be over 14.5v) or should I look into a new voltage regulator? Anything else to check. It is a 2012.
