Won't be making this run mostly gas prices and harder to get away as well as I thought I would since retiring!
-
Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to go to this like I would have liked to! Gas prices would be the main reason! Really would have liked to have gone but poor planing for retirement and Government disappointing us!

First was at @MarcarlMeet & Great Then New York Rally & can't forget @Freebird Maintenance Day!!!! Can't really have a favorite as I ENJOYED every one I made it to. Also can't forget LONGEST one to Illinois!!

I have the top ones in the picture(wedge shape) on my 2012 and like them!

Sorry to hear this! Phantom Wife & myself wish her a speedy recovery!!!

Have done a few rides over winter months but today was my first official ride of 2022! Mileage at start was 113500klm. Filled tank at $1.62Can. per Ltr. When I was done paying for gas the guy on the next pump asked what year my Venture(shocked because usually everyone asks what it is) was and told him it was a 2012 . He commented how good looking it was and he is thinking of getting one also. He said he a Boulevard now but has been looking at an older Venture(I think 1999 or up or maybe older --not really sure)) He said he might look at the first gen as he is tall and was a tight fit on the 99 . I said we had quite a few taller people that ride and suggested a few things that might help. I also gave him our website information if he wanted to look us up to get ideas and information. Also told him it was $12 a year to join. Hopefully he gets a Venture and joins up!!

Just curious where you get ethanol free gas!

I agree with @Marcarl about doing other ridding from group. Have gone on several single rides when at different rallies as it can have different environment such as hills and mountain scenery . Around my area in Ontario Canada it is quite flat with nearest bendy roads at least 30klms away . New York rally was always a treat because of the overabundance of driving thru the many lower mountain roads and really having a great experience. Like hear it is 2klm strait to Walmart and there it was 40klm thru twists and hills and great scenery to shop! Also the great rides to different historic towns and waterfalls etc. There are different stores also to be toured that are not available here .So sometimes it is very educational to take off (always tell people of group what and roughly where and what you are doing) and explore other roads and sites along the way back from planned activities such as breakfast - dinner or supper rides. When in Illinois rally I got to go to Harbor Freight for a few items,(always have to plan light as not much room to pack sometimes) Have some room as I tow a Time Out tent camper. Only bad thing about traveling to the southern(U.S.) rallies is the difference in monetary exchange difference!! Sometime I got to go on different rides with people I met at these get together s as they new some attractions that they have found over the years and think I might enjoy the ride and then the sites we get to. The beers are always partaken of after we are done for the day(maybe one at supper but never any after) Looking forward to the time we can travel again so I can meet up with past acquaintances I have met over the past few years.

Was just curious as I thought someone else asked a while ago where everyone was. Just got off COMMUNITY MAP and noticed there were 377 EXPIRED members and 272 SUPPORTING members. I was surprised to see so many members that I personally know that are on the expired list and was curious if it was mostly because of Covid 19 . I know that there would be less ridding and fewer places to go but figured it would be worth the $12 yearly to keep in touch at least. But that is my opinion and I understand there can be many personal reasons for this. Well I hope everyone is doing well and hope to see whoever I can this year!!!

Always good to hear better news!! Keep going!

Hoping things go well for you!!!!!

Thought it was but not sure. Yeh would have been nice but not realistic at near the price you were given. Ma Yamaha should have made an attempt since they make all the other models they do produce. Sorry mean the model companies!!
-
@FreebirdI also remember early in my membership here that someone was looking into getting a group buy if someone they knew would be able to get something made but never seen anything after that! The closest I have ever got was a Road Star 1600 when I had my 2000 Road Star I owned before my present 2012 Royal Star Venture. Funny thing tho I found it at a Harley Davidson swap meet! The closest I got to a model was a painting of my bike done by my wife's co-worker.

I am also on different Facebook bike websites BUT THIS is the MAIN site I ALWAYS go to!!!! Not any information at all but do mention our site if they need any information.

Phantom Wife and I are sorry to hear this news! I also really appreciate how you keep this site going with all tat you do!!! I have been member since 2002(approximately) and have learned alot about both first and second gen bikes(1987 and 2012 owned) Also have seen less and less participation but also put this down to Covid19 and probably fewer bikes. Also the great loss of some past friends that have left us before their time!!!! I try to post as much as I can to keep in touch with those that are still here and also look forward to visiting with as many members as I can Ike @XV1100SE said last time we got together was at @Marcarls to work on his and my bike valves. That was a good day! All the restriction placed on us here in Ontario really suck as we have a hard time going anywhere! Really miss going to Maintenance Day and New York rallies and also our Canadian rally .Wood have been very interested in the other rallies but because of work and distance was not possible! So now that I have said my 2cents I really hope that things pick up in the near future and you get through your situation!!!

Also here are pictures of bike dolly I got from Princess Auto. Had to modify it so bike would fit. Had to lengthen 6" and kickstand tray out 3". A lot easier to move around the garage. Can move right over to shelving and also move to edge of garage to go for ride. Have had this for a few years but am glad I finally got around to adapt and use.Much easier than wiggling back and forth and holding bike up.

Did my FIRST ride of 2022 today ! Took pictures of both tractors I use for snow to show @saddlebum .

@bpate4home I also don't do resolutions as well as everyday resolutions as they are as hard to keep as any are, things always come into play that tend to change situations and chances to do things and nothing gets done. As @Marcarl knows from seeing what my 2car garage usually looks like he probably won't believe me when I said that one side Phantom Wife can park her car inside for winter. Will try to post pictures later.

Sad to hear this! Condolences to his wife and family!

Rode day before and after Christmas as temp. was a balmy 1deg cel. Snowed couple hours after I came home day before and melted over Christmas day and cleared up day after.
-
Dec.23 I finished modifying my bike dolly to fit my 2012 Venture. Had to lengthen it by a foot and extend kick stand tray 2in farther out. Will try and post pictures
-
Was 1deg cel around 11:30am when I went for a coffee run ride .Was out for 2hr and had coffee at Tim Horton's 25klms away then rode around for awhile.

Likewise!!!

Phantom Wife and I wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!

@saddlebumAs I have said before the lawn tractors are not used for lawn cutting as there are no decks and one was modified 15 years ago to plow backwards with a 40" blade and the latest one has been modified to hold a 40" Berco snow blower. Both of these are only built to cut lawn not what I use them for! Will post pics when I get them down loaded!! Just got back from a ride(1 1/2hr) to warm up bike so I can see if mods done to my bike dolly are done right. Had to make it alot longer so bike can fit. Had to have supper so haven't had a chance to check yet.
