  1. Nice installation!!
  2. I am in need of reupholstering my 2012 seat as most of the seams are torn or separating( has 118000klm) this doesn't effect ability of riding but does look bad when NOT on bike. Oldest son told me my great nephew does upholstering and may be able to help me with it. Still looking for good used one but price and condition stop me. Was good to go to Paris Ont. for the get together that @XV1100SE put on with Tim Horton coffee then ice cream but had to miss next one because of prier commitments. Can't wait for next one!!!!Missed meeting up with the last group!
  3. @RDawson@FreebirdI agree with both of you altho I never owned either of these BUT have driven quite a few just to try them out (Harley's on test drive and new Venture at New York rally) Really liked Venture for power and performance thru the mountains design was OK BUT I didn't like the belt drive system as I had too many problems when I owned a 2000 Road Star 1600(V twin belt drive) nice sound and power but not enjoyable for long rides! Most problem was had to replace 2 belts at around $800 each time in 1 season. Still don't know why! They said that Harley used them for forever! I never beat bike or drove down many gravel roads to pickup any stone excreta to cause this break! Another thing was way too much heat on the Harley's which made it uncomfortable to ride any distance. Mostly PRICE was the MOST and defining object for NOT buying either and led me BACK to the 2012 Venture I bought new! Both were OVER $34000 Can here and could afford the $ 20000Can with $5500 trade(which Harley wouldn't take in--trade but their friend would give $3000Can)
  4. Around 3 sec here!!
  5. Sorry to hear this but if it has to happen because of yours and Eileen's condition then that is up to you but am happy that you will continue as you do now with our support!!!!
  6. Glad you all made it! Hope everyone has a GREAT rally and hopefully i can make one of these soon(darn Covid and restrictions!)
  7. Have a Great ride and visit!!
  8. Just swapped mine from side to side (2012)as they were wearing on inside more than outside.
  9. @ReinyRooster have a great and safe ride! Wish I could have been able to do this also.
  10. When you turn to the left lock and key is pushed mine I have to turn back towards the right to get it to lock then key can be taken out( turn too the left all the way and then back abit just enough to feel movement to the lock section That slight movement might work). Also turn to right and do the same!
  11. Thank you again for all your work!!!!
  12. Congrats!!! Welcome to the group! Also like @Freebird said about finding time good luck!!! Seems on my part that kids and wife seem to think that I am more available than ever!!So leaves less time to do things I figured I would be able to get done for me like RIDDING which I try to do when I can!! Also news about all the crashes involving bikes and autos has the wife concerned altho I think she knows how attentive I am and I am also always on the defensive!!! Just yesterday news said there were 12 crashes last year and there have been more this summer alone and were 75 percent deemed rider's fault which doesn't help for insurance cost!
  13. Yummi looking!!!!

    I'm Back!

    Welcome back!!!
  15. Condolences!!!
  16. I have a 2012 with around 116,000klms and have only changed half plate in rear of clutch to full on (mostly slipping a bit as everyone says I tow trailers a lot have home-made utility and a Time Out tent trailer) also did valve check and only one was a little tight. SO you should have no problems as long as maintenance was properly done like @cowpuc said!
  17. First congrats!!! I quit on my first try as nieces borrowed some home Rollie cigarettes from their mom and they tried to get me to try smoking like them. I took one puff and that was it almost puked never again!!!! Have lit a couple for my wife when she was busy but inhaled only enough to lite it.
  18. @Marcarl " in the rain " didn't show up when I posted I guess!!!
  19. Out for ride last night and got caught so wiped down bike waiting to get oil and filter to change shortly!
  20. I also have had to try different helmets over the years as for shape of head. Mine seems to be oblong (ready for comment) which most helmets try to push against forehead causing headache. So top name brand models are too tight (explained to me that they are designed for European people) so tried HJC model CL-MAX 3 which I bought at Pioneer Sports in New York State around Orleans and had help from sales person on fit. It is a 2018 model so not sure if it is available but fits great! It is a modular as I also wear glasses and is great taking off and on plus can take drink if needed without stopping. Like everything it depends on your fit and style that is for you!
  21. Very nice work!! Like others I wish I had that talent!!
