Sure but what can be done in those circumstances is to make an effort to include healthy choices for ingredients. Reduce animal proteins and up vegetable proteins (quinoa, lentils, brown rice, barley, beans) and increase the portion of complex carbs (root vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, yams). Stay away from refined carbs as much as possible (white flour, white pasta).
-
Sure, why not? Just use whole wheat pasta and slip in some brown rice or lentils or even a bit of both. Not an unhealthy choice but the cheese sauce is fairly high in calories.
-
At your next meeting ask about the significance of complex carbs and fiber in your diet. Might also be interesting to find out their thoughts on resistant starch related to your diet. http://www.eatthis.com/worst-carbs-in-america/?utm_source=msn&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=msn-feed

That is exactly the point I have been trying to make on this topic. The information in the Macro page link will allow you to take charge of what you eat by aiding in assessing your current diet and providing a method to adjust it to fit your goals and your comfort level.

Staying the way you are is certainly an option. When it comes to changing a diet I think moderation is the least stressful. You don't get much in the way of bragging rights but small changes over time add up without getting the feeling you are being starved. Probably the most important thing to work on is reducing and then eliminate empty calorie junk food. I'm fairly certain that everything that claims to be "diet" food is for the most part also junk food. The article in the first link gives a good explanation on how to assess the calorie value of the foods you do eat, it just takes a little simple math. If you eat smart then you don't have to go hungry. As I mentioned in your pop thread, myfitnesspal.com is also helpful in figuring out the nutrition of the foods you eat. Substituting real foods for refined and processed foods is the first step. You will find including more fiber in your diet will help level your blood sugar and carry you through to the next scheduled meal without the crash you get from eating junk food.

I have occasionally seen a mention of Macro Diets but never looked into it because I figured it was just more World Wacky Web diet BS but came across the following links yesterday and thought the explanation had value in understanding how to make informed choices to develop a healthy diet and are worth passing on. https://vitals.lifehacker.com/count-macronutrients-instead-of-calories-for-better-die-1706873465 https://vitals.lifehacker.com/how-to-determine-the-number-of-calories-you-should-eat-1693372946 http://www.ontheregimen.com/2013/10/15/how-to-count-your-macros-a-comprehensive-guide/

1St Gen - That pesky tiny oil leak

Slide the grommet along the wires a bit, spray wires and grommet with brake clean. Let it dry then goop and slide the grommet back. Make sure the grommet channel is cleaned of old goop and put a thin layer in there too. -
Twenty minutes to Swartz Bay isn't too unusual but twenty minutes to Crofton is very impressive. Soooo...what... did you have to dismantle the bike to help get over the addiction?

You found the likely answer to my question, courtesy of mraf back in 2008.

Might be a good project to keep you out of trouble. Is there a story there?

The tach worked perfectly all winter and did not become tardy until the temps came up although it is still a bit frosty when starting early in the morning or late at night. It isn't slow when starting during the day when it is warmer or even after running for a few seconds. Seems to be normally responsive after the initial slow start. I guess it could be a poor connection that is worse when it is cold. If I could catch sight of that monkey I'd offer it a 30/30 pill.

Pretty big change since even in touring mode it's still a sport bike. https://www.quora.com/How-reliable-are-Ducati-motorcycles-compared-to-other-brands-of-motorcycles
-
For the past week or so when starting the engine from cold the tach takes its time to get up to speed. Once running it appears to work properly. Anyone know what might be the cause?

Saw another bike on its side on the way to work.

I tested a Miata about 15 years ago and totally loved it. Sadly the top of the windshield was about mid forehead on me otherwise I would have bought it. My second car was a 67 MGB and it had tons of headroom and legroom. Very similar vehicles except for the seating. -
On rural roads around here, the school buses will put on their red flashing lights and extend the stop sign when stopping on the road or partially off the road. Both lanes of traffic must stop. Sometimes they will pull into a transit bus drop off point which gets them totally off the road and they don't turn on their flashers or stop sign. In that case it is legal to pass them but always a good idea to moderate your speed.
-
There may be other causes but I have found the most common slowdown is due to loading ads that are either poorly written or are trying to connect to overloaded servers. My solution is to press the F5 button which reloads the page and generally bypasses the current ad choice. Of course, the next ad may also have the same problem so pressing F5 will pass that one too. Works reliably for me.

I know, SAD. Who is really getting screwed by NAFTA?

Berrymans is available on amazon.ca for... (trumpet flourish) ... a 15 oz can... (trumpet flourish) ... $53. Whooo Hooo!!!
-
I would say $5 is pretty good. Keep in mind, the $CAD is worth US$.70 cents.
-
That seems to be a pretty potent mix. Perhaps the best use of MMO is to cut the potency of the Berryman's. I don't recall ever seeing Berryman's around here. See if I can find it. So about 50/50 and how much per tank?
-
Regular price at Canadian Tire is $12.00 a bottle. NAPA has it on for $9.00 a bottle. Oh Canada.
-
A shot of what? I've been putting 2 ounces of MMO in each tank for about 5 months and it still got gummed up. Had to put in some Seafoam to clear it up. Just what is MMO supposed to do?

If we are going to get picky, check this out. Ride like you're invisible. .... Never ride faster than your angel can fly. ... So there. -
Just cook your own food using fresh veggies you have bought and an informed choice of spices, sauces and condiments. Growing your own is way too much work unless you happen to like gardening. The primary problem with pre-prepared foods is the extra salt, sugar and unhealthy chemical preservatives. Going totally organic is probably the most healthy but is, in my opinion, a bridge too far however there are valid arguments to go there.
