Posting pix is pretty simple if they are on you computer or online. Click on the Insert Image icon in the reply window. A dialogue box will come up where you choose From Computer or From URL.

Insert Image X From Computer From URL

Add an Image from your computer Allowed Filetypes: jpg, jpeg, png, gif *Choose File* *Upload File(s)*

The starred choices are links. Clicking on Choose file will take you to an Explorer box (on a PC) where you navigate to the folder that contains your pix. After selecting the pic file you will be back at the above box where you select upload. The image will appear in the reply box. There is the option to do more than one image at a time but I find it more convenient to do them one by one because there are usually comments to be added for each pic so it help keep them in an ordered layout. Alternatively, inserting pix from a URL is as simple as copying the web source address of the pic and pasting it in the box. That's the basics. Some additional info: There are some file size limits to be aware of. For me it's no problem since my camera is set to standard size which is 640x480 which will create a file size of a few hundred KB. If I take a pic from my phone there is no size setting and they are more likely to be around 2 MB which is a bit on the large side. I always resize my phone pix to 640x480 to keep them lighter and display just as well as the bigger files. The forum software will create a thumbnail for the pic which when clicked on will display the full size. There you go, even a Saltspring Islander can accomplish that simple task.

Hard to say but might be worth checking to see if the radiator is gobbed up with debris. Last time I had mine out there were quite a few insects in there. -

That would be Forking by Frank which is a family owned business in Illinois that has been around since 1966. I bought a pair of his forks for my Virago about 12 years ago. -
Max torque is at 5000 RPM and there is still some get up and go between there and 7000 RPM. The engine is not at it's best below 3000 RPM but you can actually run in 5th gear down to about 2500 RPM if it is well synced but throttle needs to be applied gently and mileage will suck.

The only thing a bigger wheel/tire combo will give you is that it will take a bigger pothole to get stuck in and do the super bounce. Doesn't seem like it is worth the cost and effort to do a conversion. Now putting on a couple of Venture front wheels and fenders would at least look awesome.

What size is the Venture headlight. The Daymaker and the clone projector lights also come in a 5 3/4" version.

When you put in the 405 cc's did you happen to check how full the forks were from the top while compressed with no spring installed? That is the most recommended method. The height from the top to the oil is 5.5" with OEM springs and 5.5" - 6" with Progressive springs. Putting in a fixed amount of oil in each fork is open to uncontrollable variables such as some old oil still in the fork and a possible difference in the thickness of the springs, one side to the other. I would say for proper operation the two forks need to work exactly the same. I would be interested in knowing how a super brace would affect the shock compression rate. The only thing that comes to mind is a super brace is far less flexible than the OEM brace and might possibly not flex enough to mitigate unequal fork performance. Oh yah, it's damping not dampening. Hahahahaha. -
I considered that area to be too far away to be useful for a GPS. is one of the main reasons why I have never been in favour of OEM GPS setups which are too hard to see/focus on so they are a considerable distraction for anyone who does not have perfect vision. If you look about a third of the way down the link I gave you, you will see an X-grip mount like in the photo on here but at a better angle. There is a double ended clamp (pivots at both ends) that is about 4" long that does allow the device to be adjusted closer and much higher when mounted on the handlebars. Worked great because it is closer to line of sight so your head doesn't have to be so far down.

Just to add more "luck" the sniper fired from a rooftop of unspecified height. Well, at least I can't remember how high it was, one, two or three stories. Just keeps getting more amazing...ly lucky.

Look here and then see what you can find on ebay.com and amazon.com.

Should work great. Except for the few who Journey Further. Better be careful Puc.

Hahahahahaha!!! Must not be familiar with Canuck sarcasm.

When doing that don't forget to clean the pistons. Popping them all the way out is the absolute best way and doesn't take too much extra time.

Hah!!! No fear Rick, it's all inclusive, I didn't leave you out.

Apparently on the Canadian sniper training ranges they quite regularly get hits at 3000 metres. It would seem getting a hit at an extra 500 metres is not too far fetched. Made in the USA McMillan TAC-50

About a month ago a Canadian soldier regained the record for the longest kill shot from the Brits by an extra 1000 metres. The shot was 3450 metres which is over 2 miles. Very impressive.

Yamaha did create an "All New" motorcycle that if it performs as well as it looks will quite likely be one of the best ones they have ever made. The thing is, no matter what they call it, without the V4 and shaft drive it is not a Venture. No way, no how!

New windscreen options?

It would be helpful if you took a few minutes and filled out your bike info in your profile then no one has to guess about what you have. -
Another Progressive spring post
camos replied to Grez007's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
As far as I know, the 5.5 inch level measurement with the forks compressed and no springs installed is for OEM springs so presumably the measurement might be closer to 6 inches. Perhaps someone who has installed the Progressives will chime in on this. -

If you have a 1st gen it isn't necessary to install an extra vent. The ones next to the speakers do an adequate job. If you have a 2nd gen it's probably a good idea to put one in. -
I haven't seen anything more than the story and video in my post. There was an interview with the guy in the truck who came out of it amazingly well. Virtually no mention of the driver in the car.

As mentioned, installing Progressive springs in the forks generally does not require air but even with them air is a plus. There is normally no need to be concerned about plugging off the front from the back as they are separate systems. -
This incident happened on Wednesday but I didn't see the video until today. A car cut into the car pool lane and cut off a motorcycle. The rider then kicked the side of the car which tried to bump the motorcycle and then lost control, hit the median and swerved back into traffic hitting a truck causing it to flip over. Very dramatic. The video in the link shows what happened in full the second time around, a little before half way. Apart from the dramatic escalation from a little retribution to a serious incident, what caught my attention was that most of the videos I saw posted by news media did not show the part that led up to the kick. Seems to me that the kick was somewhat justified however, the video does point out that no matter how you feel when getting cut off by an inattentive cager it is best to suck it up and let it go. It's a crazy world we live in.

Got the big notice today or yesterday afternoon... Seems I had to renew my subscription to this gaggle of reprobates or will no longer be able to inform or generally harass you all. Naturally I immediately paid up. Who could miss out on the deal of the century. One thing I would like to point out to the Boss, the notice did not remind me of exactly when I would expire, so to speak. Went immediately online to pay up and found the expiry would occur in two days which makes it three days since I got the notice. That is not nearly enough lead time if I had decided to go away for a week or even just three days. Don't-cha think a month would be a better lead time? I do....

Riding at 55 or 60 will get better mileage than riding at 70 or 80. Also, In my opinion 5000 RPM is not an economical choice. Somewhere around 3000 to 3500 RPMs would be a better choice.
