I had one that was wired directly to the battery and pigtail sticking out to hook up trickle charger. Worked good. You check water in battery?? Sounds like it may be getting old.

Dollar Tree sells a cleaner wax "PowerHouse" that is just as good as any other and a buck a can. It stays in my saddle bag along with a terry cloth dish towel the warden passed along to me. The worn cloths work the best and I don't use it for anything but the PowerHouse.

Yammer Dan replied to wdneff's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Jack is right. Time for a Sea-Foam soak. Or at least run the tank low and dump in a whole can and run it thriough it and leave it sit overnight with the strong mixture in the carbs. -

Carb diaphragm
Yammer Dan replied to Condor's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
As Jeff said be careful with it. You will have to pull the flanges apart that hold the rubber to the slide and probally use a drop or two of super-glue to hold the flanges back togather. Or Seals-All. Take your time and let us know. -
Sea-Foam and ride. Sometimes it takes a while.

Way way out of sync or something plugged.
-
Does the one with twice the power have the better MPH? Don't sound like fuel problem if that is so. Could be WAY WAY out of sync. Or maybe one plugged.
-
That one is really nice. The man no doubt has a lot but that is still HUGE. It has to come from the heart. Thank you Merrill Worcester. Is there some way we could send him aTHANK YOU from VentureRiders.org??

Looking for a chrome trunk rack for my 86 VR
Yammer Dan replied to ctraylor's topic in Bike Accessories
Skid put one on his 86 that looks as good as orginal. Forgot what he paid for it but it really came out nice. I have one to mount on the "Project Bike" before we are done with it. -
TOO MUCH TIRE??? Avon is the best feeling tire I have ridden on but then I've only been riding since 1963.
-
Igot a little less than 6k out of the Avon on the rear. Yep less than 6 thousand miles. But I think I know why. They were the best feeling tires I have ever rode and that includes a few. Going to slow down and see if I can get 10 k out of a rear tire!!!

I have a Craftsman Electric that worked pretty well till it died last time I had it out and can't find a site to buy brushes for it. They do come in handy for a few things.

Light up the back lollypops?
Yammer Dan replied to JeffC's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
A lot of different ways to go with that. Adding lights I think would be better than changing the orginal lights.
