    Some say you must run same thing on front and rear and I like to if it works out that way. You shouldn't mix Radial and Bias ply, keep same type of tire on both ends but different Brands shouldn't make difference. South West Mototires.com treats us good. I had extra in shed this time but several can be had for around 100 a tire.

    I just replaced one with good tread and some nasty looking cracks in it. Couldn't think of anything else when riding.

    E-Bay is the spot for 1st Gens. Most things are interchangable fron 83 to 93 but some of the pretties are diffferent. Ask here when you are looking. You know bags are different? Side covers are different on 83 but could be made to work. Just ask before you buy.

    Had temp guage problem when i got my first venture and it was just matter of tightening up wire ends. Those gears will fit and you can do a lot more to it as you do the gears. You will know it pretty well by the time you get them in there. Riding without 2nd is not bad at all just skip over it and you don't miss it after a while, but 2nd is a lot of fun gear.

    It is Great stuff. Fuel system cleaner. Ranks right up there with Sea-foam costs a little more.

    Could be done if you can weld that good. Getting under it enough would be a problem.

    If you put it on centerstand "most" of the time it won't leak. On sidestand it leaks a little. Not enough to worry about. Check it and if below center of sight glass you could add a little. If you can see it in glass I wouldn't worry about it.

    Hey Denden you been out playing again?? Another thing is the side covers on the 83s fasten on different than the rest. All kinds of plastic on E-Bay right now.

    I think age would shrink those things Jeff without it running. They leak on the Blue Beast ll. But don't know history of it.

    Not sure on that one Jack may have something there I would check holes good first.

    Litttle difference in them. I was thinking change was 86 or maybe the late 85s. The late 85s have a good 2nd gear I think have the number written down somewhere when change was made.2nd gear is a ways down the road yet if it does go and that engine would be well worth learning the 2nd gear fix on. I know another that needs done.

    The circle on the back of the oil bottle should not have any lettering in the bottom half of the circle. It should be empty. If there is lettering there it is telling you it has friction modifiers in the oil.

    Sea- Foam and a set of plugs would probally kept you from sending it back to the Stealer. Do good Sea-Foam soak before you change plugs. Looks pretty good a lot of promise.

    I think I'll hang on to my 1st Gen for a while. Take a while to gather all the parts up anyway.
